Got mine this week can’t wait to get out and try it set it up already looks the nuts really impressed so far went up in seconds to inner dome was bit fiddly but nothing to bad I’d highly recommend
I wish tent manufacturers would learn from this stuff , I really think there is a x over market here , the quality , simplicity and designs are great I just wish more had zip in ground sheets I have a smaller one I may look for a bigger one
Hiya, have they sorted the problem out with the material being too small for the frame then? Where did you order as I’ve been holding out for this bivvy
No memtion or showing of the letter box, clear window, and that skull cap needs a support bar to stop it flapping around in the wind or it's going to vibrate like hell. What's the headroom like behind you for when sat on a bed buddy/transformer chair as it looks low?
this is going to be a contender for the frontier had this been around when i bought my AXS EL i think i would have gone for this looks so much easier to put up this will be my next bivvy
As I do most of my fishing in the winter months this would benefit me from having a winter wrap for extra protection. I no it comes with a skull cap but this doesn't give you the full protection like a winter wrap does so that option would be nice
Hi looking for hints ,tips advice , ive just bought this exact bivvy and found it a real struggle to get the bivvy up , the spreader block was a struggle to click in to get it to open , and the front two peak arms were an absolute mate to get to locate into the holes , im hoping its just as its brand new first time up , did you come upon any of these issues , bivvy is fantastic but took 20 mins to put up , im no novis and own a tempest and a frontier xd , help ??!? Or have i bought a wrong un ?
Mine hasn't arrived yet so cannot comment from experience but I had a similar issue when my Tempest was new - everything was super tight to setup. Saying that, you do say you own a other similar bivvies. I wouldn't be at all surprised if after a few up and downs, it all loosened off. I'll reply back if I have similar issues as you.
@@colinbailey6236 i was hoping that it being new would be the case , but it was a bitch to put up mate , once up these are really nice , i paid £440 so got it at a great price ,
I was hoping the lad that did the video could shed light on it as he had 100% had that bivvy out of the bag , the bag has internal fasteners (nice touch) and the poles have velcro to secure in their pockets , very nice these bivvies mate
Shame we didnt get to see it set up or packed away, i get the concept but would be nice to see full set up n pack down. Looks a great bit of kit and especially likevthe price tag when you look at what else is on the market for that kind of money 👍
the set up was "that quick and easy" they didnt even show it, jesus if your going to plug a bivvy at least show it being put up, more so when you plug it being so fast
For once a Bivvy that fits back in to the bag it came in,I have 2 one for summer/autumn or short sessions and one for winter spring long sessions, and they are a nightmare to get back in the bag
I still use the Avid HQ like the look of this but the HQ is bigger and don't take that long to put up and the HQ is higher, looked at this friend had one and is so low.
I'm very interested in getting one I've already got the Trakker Tempest 200 with inner capsule but the footprint is big and this Avid one looks spot on for my fishing trips around the uk and Europe.
received Avid Exo + bivvy, went to set it up today and it took almost 30mins to get the centre block to click into place once I'd fanned all the arms out. Went to put the 2 front arms in and they just wouldn't go! It's like the material is way too tight on the frame its ridiculous. By the looks of all the talk online it seems alot of people are having the same issues. Wondering if any of you have had similar problems? Extremely disappointing, obviously no checks done prior to sending them out!
Check my comment here. Same problems, and I even tore a seam when undoing it. I'm getting rid of it asap. Best bivvy ever made my a**e, and I'm being polite.
Just put mine up for the first time. Exactly the same. Material is far too tight. It's splitting at the seams when it arrived from Total Fishing Tackle. This is not a good first taste of the bivvy.
the doors don't roll up to reveal mozzie mesh..that's no good at all, I can't be swapping over to a full mesh and then back again. it could all be in one like you normal bivvies. it has actually stopped me buying this 😢
The peak is flat like the titan T1 mk1. The rain will pool there and drip off the front. Needs a middle pole like the frontier to lift the peak to an apex. Good price though. I'll wait for the mk2 when they change it.
Bought one last week and ripped it when putting it up today. Took me 10min to get the poles to click into place, and another 10 to slide in the 2 peak arms it was that tight, don't get me started. When packing down the seam ripped as one of the peak arms shot out as I had to apply quite some force to undo. Very, very disappointed. This is my first bivvy since my Fox Explorer, so I think I can say I am very careful with my gear. Maybe I'm just old school, but wasn't too impressed with the fabric either. Internal mesh pockets check, velcro strips on the skull cap check. Phoned the shop I got it from, and I can post it back to them and get another free of charge, or get my money back. I am leaning very much towards the latter unfortunately. Not impressed & not happy...
Never had anything from avid that didn’t break. HD Brolly was shite only used it half a dozen times and then 😢bed chair leg broke and I had to buy a new one after a lot of agro. Looks a nice system all the same, pay your money and take your chance
Let themselves down with the inner dome. £120 notes for a cheap looking mesh. Wheres the camo print mesh ? That would have looked much better. Bit like the dual layer. Also would have liked to of seen vents in the dome and the ability to undo vents from inside. Dual layer set the standard and avid have left out all the best bits that made that bivvy great. Like the look of this and will most likely purchased but theyve missed a few details that could have made this a top top bivvy
In the beginning it was al fun and pleasure . But what is the point to look at these clips ? Everything you guy´s film is the best . Next week is Soniks new bivvy the best .
No internal pockets or pouches?.. No rod straps on the cap?.. Price point might be slightly lower than similar bivvies. But they've cut corners to achieve that....Fox Frontier is a better option , imo. If you've got 500 quid or more to spend on a shelter..
Where is the stove, Jack? Not one Bivvy on the market with one yet. WTF are they playing at. The one group of people likely to be using a tent in winter and they have not yet worked out that we might want to stay warm.
Yep that’s how the world works.someone brings something out that is claimed the best on the market then companies see and try and improve on that to make theirs the best 🤷🏼♂️
I hope everyone who buys Avid products realises that after 12 months they don't want to know any problems, I've got a £500 HD brolly system and it's leaking around 4 spoke areas, it's only been used about 15 times 3 of in rain and this is my email reply off them. Hi Darren, After the 12 month warranty period, there is nothing we can do. Very sorry. Kind Regards Dave Lloyd
Why is it that they NEVER show..... The kit set up in these bivvy reviews.....The important bit is space, how your gear loads up in it, space to make a cup of tea, and how everything fits in.... Yet they reel out the same review for every bivvy, just with a brand difference....So, can we see for once, ALL the kit inside, including rod bag, rucksack, stove, bivvy table, otherwise these reviews are becoming the same, with every brand and the same old superlatives rolled out, airflow, shade, rain gutter, non stretch materiel and weight.. I don't want to be ticking of a list of things, I'll barely use in the bivvy, or just for one upmanship of the bloke in the next swim.....which lets face it, is what the marketing and review is all about. I NEED to know how all the gear fits in...Circa the Old Nash brochure diagrams.
Looks like Avid have pinched other company’s designs. It’s almost a fox frontier xd with a Jrc easy winder door. That said I do like the avid gear it’s decent for the money.
Sadly mine split at the seams trying to put it up material was to tight…..has gone back now for refund shame really the idea is great but I suppose you get what you pay for…
Good god have a look and make your own mind up, yes they get paid to do the vido, so what?? if it means you get to look at the tackle before you buy im in favour, get it or dont but give the bloke a brake 😂 I remember the days when you had to choose from a picture and hope for the best 😢
Honestly wouldn't buy one of there divvys again especially after contacting there customer support. Weak material poles bend and break in the slight wind and I will be uploading the videos very soon of how bad these things are. I had to use my emergency birkley bivvy as the avid one collapsed on me because it couldn't handle a fart. Birkley one is 25 years old the first bivvy I bought and didn't have my fox one with me. Right from the day I bought it I had issues and parts being changed then the third time I use it this happens then basically told to fuck off by avid Shame on you. I have spent thousands on ur junk but never again
Looks the part. BUT only time will tell if the plastic central boss will malfunction as with the plastic adaptors on the poles
Finally a bivvy that comes with nearly everything and a half decent price bout bloddy time thank you avid 👍👍i be looking to get me one of them
That's nice, I like the size , looks great too. That lettle bit more room is nice to have.
Fantastic 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 about time ! In this day and age with the cost of living crisis! A massive well done 👏🏻
Any hooks or pockets inside the bivvy it’s basically a frontier but abit bigger and better door?

Thanks for the video. Maybe ive missed them but it looks like there are no rod straps on the extra skull cap peak? You able to confirm? Cheers
There on the sides mage so your rods aren’t to the side of your door there more to the window side if that makes sense I have the revolve brolly
I think that is an excellent Bivi very well presented keep on with the good work
Does it have internal pockets?
Got mine yesterday the second batch (first batch was worthless). It took me two minutes.
Thanks Avid

So much easier that they skip the 15 minutes that it actually took to put it up 😂
Looks brilliant! Thanks for the review

Someone mentioned problems with the block in comments
I bought dual layer hq in May and love it , not sure I would have one of these as the height in big winds might be a worry
it has no problem with storms or anything, i have tested mine and its great!
I've had the HQ for years now, had the previous version too. Loved both. I'm looking at upgrading to this.
Iv pre ordered this can't wait for it to arrive
Any pockets ? Any loops for hanging a light ?
All of the above

This looks good but went for the prologic slr because price and weight was better
Maybe some fisheries where possible could have wooden huts in each swim that folk could hire out if need be or hire a bivvy per day for a small fee.
Notice not shown set up from beginning to end
Nash titan t2 💪
Still prefer the t1 pro and once you have added the inner dome which I would its about the same price
