John Gary vs Angelina Jordan Unchained Melody
One of the most memorable experiences of my life was seeing John Gary perform live in Seattle, WA, when I was 20 years old. He had such a powerful and beautiful voice that filled the whole auditorium. During the break, he sat down on the edge of the stage and played his guitar, singing Unchained Melody with so much emotion and passion. It was a sublime moment that I shared with my wife, and I felt like we were the only ones in the room. At that time, I thought to myself; how could anyone top that performance, but 56 years later a 17-year-old Angelina Jordan just did.
Angelina Jordan's performance at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Norway in 2023 blew me away. She sang with such passion and emotion that I felt every word in my soul. She truly captured the essence of the song and made it her own. and she is only 17-year-old. I have never heard anything like it before, this genius never ceases to amaze me. © Larry D. Pifer

Duane, thank you for reacting to this beautifully respectful performance by Angelina Jordan. There have been dozens of reactions to this tribute to Narges Mohammadi yet only a couple reactors did a little research to learn about this years recipient. I think you will agree 100%, once you learn about Narges and Angelina's connection to her, this performance takes on a whole new light. We fully appreciate all the time and effort reactors take to create their videos but I believe those who take a couple minutes to learn some background, produce far better reaction videos. A very easy way to learn some background, for any video, is to scan the comments under the original video and read a couple which provide the background.
I know every minute of your time is precious, but I hope Angelina inspires you to always improve like she does for me.

Angelina was recorded here at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference. Her imagery is Stunning. She looks like a cross between a Greek Fresco and a Klimt Painting, then she plays her instrument. She is softly breaking us all, then at the end we are left breathless. Then she puts her hand to heart, and walks off a sweet, humble 17 year old.

Thank you for the nice reaction, Duane. The ability this girl has to move those who listen to her is absolutely incredible. This interpretation of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, it made this legendary song perfectly suited for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", a singer who has already sung on 2 different occasions at the Nobel Prizes and at only 17 years old.💛🧡❤

Just for Info: Not only is Narges Mohammadi, Iranian human rights activist the Honoree and recipient of the 2023 Nobel Peace Price in Captivity in Iran for fighting for Women’s Rights, but her two children are in attendance at this performance. I feel like Angelina was “Channeling” their Mother’s Prayers to her children. Listen closely to the Lyrics. The emoting of emotion by Angelina brings tears to my eyes. 😢😊. I hope her Prayers come true. OMG, Nervous? She never gets nervous, she says singing in a stage in front of people is “her home”. And has been all her life. She has performed twice at the Nobel Peace Price Ceremonies, and has performed on TV in front of millions at the 2023 FIFA Awards Ceremony with Red One, and on stage live in front of 40,000 in Korea at age 11 when Norah Jones asked her to open her concert. Oh yes, she is wearing a Headband, not a Jeweled Tierra. She did that a couple months ago in Paris at the 2023 LeBal for Debutants were she was invited because of her own accomplishments including raising millions of Euros for Children in Need Causes.
