even if ukraine falls, which i'm not convinced it will, Russia will never be able to maintain a Ukranian insurgency, which Zeihan never mentions. There's no way Russia expands (in europe) beyond Ukraine, not for the next 15 years. I'd even be willing to bet on it
I enjoy watching you too Peter. Your choice of attire is colourful and fun and you’re sure moving around in the great geopolitics outdoors. It would be even more interesting to see you broadcast from some of the counties you talk about.
I was wondering if you were going to do a video on all the China/Russia Middle East peace deals I have been hearing about. The Iran and Saudi one doesn’t make sense considering all the flack the Arab states went to signing peace deals with Israel specifically for countering Iran? Your insight would be great!!
My best guess is that this is political theatre from Saudi to make Biden look bad since he called MBS and Saudi in general pretty shit stuff on mass media. I have a feeling this will ramp up during the 2024 election cycle
Does anyone else think that the current protests in Israel is sort of about these new geopolitical alignments? I think the elites must know something really bad is coming so they want to have as much control of the courts to pass martial laws. Netanyahu is a war time leader, not peace time. I would like to hear other opinions on this.
No I don’t think so. From all the articles I have read state the judicial overhaul bill passed by Netanyahu was created by him to future corruption charges he might be indicted for. I think if Netanyahu knew about future of region he would Allie Israel with Arab nations to stop Turkiye controlling the region instead of causing unrest in Israel.
Would love to hear a breakdown of the new trade deals China has been making with Saudi Arabia, France, and Brazil. Seems worrisome for the future of the US Dollar when many countries are investing futures into the yuan.
Funny fact: they would have their own natural gas for decades and coal for centuries. But they don’t want to penetrate the holy ground of the Aryan earth mother.😮
Interesting how Turkey is like Mexico in the good ways. Hadn;t thought about how being a peninsula makes it hared to invade. Contrasts with Japan excellent. Surprised there was no discussion about their ties to the Turkic peoples of Central Asia, and what might happen from that over time as the Ru55ians weaken.
Mmmm, I don't know. It makes strategic sense militarily for Romania and Bulgaria to side with Turkey but historically there is a lot of bad blood there. I, as an Irishman, know exactly how bad blood can effect policy. My nation's neutrality, while I support it on moral grounds, is making less and less sense as the world changes yet seeing Irish troops under British command in an alliance like NATO would leave a bad taste in my, and many other Irish citizen's, mouths. Logically, it's better to be in bed with Turkey against Russia if the US is disengaging, but would it be acceptable to the Romanian and Bulgarian populace?
Hard to see the war as "Russia's to lose", Peter. Maybe we could have said that six months ago, but now they don't seem to be learning much about what they need to change, their economy is in long-term trouble, and their population advantage is also weakening.
I actually think Peter is holding to his "Russia's war to lose" assessment until the Ukes put together the several combat battalions they intend to launch in their counter offensive this summer. If the Ukes punch through and make it to the Azov Sea, then his opinion will change as to who’s likely to win. If the Ukes fail to break out then he'll conclude that Russia will be able to hold the territory it currently controls indefinitely. Everything depends on whether western armaments will truly have a great effect in this new type of war and if the Ukes can execute a combined arms attack.
@Jake Mimosa Good description of what the Ukes need to do offensively to turn the tables. They must also have enough forces to defend against several Russian offensive vectors as well.
Yes but what are the facts on the ground in relation to their conquest of Ukraine? Despite their idiotic way of managing their invasion, Russia is still in Ukraine. As Zeihan has said the Russians will throw millions into the grinder so that Ukraine will be strained to train enough troops to fight to replace the dead. You can't fall into the trap of thinking Russian incompetence means the war is over. The Taliban kept the Russians and Americans at bay for decades and Russia has far more to lose than Afghanistan did in geopolitical and economic terms. The Russians are definitely hurting but they aren't done. Also even if Ukraine did push Russia back into Russia, do you actually believe the Russians will stop and say"Oh we're back in our territory guess we lost". They'll regroup and invade again and again and again. You would have to take the war into Russia and of course escalate matters. Short of sending in NATO troops, the Russians will stay entrenched in Ukraine for decades if they are allowed. The war has just gotten started and there's a reason Poland is readying for a fight not out of precaution but out of experience because they know the Russians have a good chance of wearing down the Ukrainians and gunning after them as well. I think it be best you get off the kumbaya train and see that this war is not as over and done as many people like yourself imagine it to be. Russia is going to pick off as many countries as it can and in my opinion Poland is on that list. I think Russia is stupid enough to attack NATO Poland and Poland seems to think so too. Russia isn't afraid of taking us down with them and people tend to forget that little fact.
I lived in Bulgaria for while. You forgot to mention the rather messy history between Bulgaria and Turkey/Ottoman empire. The Bulgarians have not forgotten and that may influence their decision making.

even if ukraine falls, which i'm not convinced it will, Russia will never be able to maintain a Ukranian insurgency, which Zeihan never mentions.
So, walking backwards on the raised causeway approach to the Angkor Wat while explaining ASEAN…
I was wondering if you were going to do a video on all the China/Russia Middle East peace deals I have been hearing about. The Iran and Saudi one doesn’t make sense considering all the flack the Arab states went to signing peace deals with Israel specifically for countering Iran? Your insight would be great!!
Yes definitely waiting for that too!!!!!
@@ZackK1261 Turkey and Israel have been allies historically (Erdogan was a blip and is going away). Turkish "Deep State" has ties to Israel.
Love the Star Trek comment!!! Having lived in and worked in Turkey you are spot on! =)
Would love to hear a breakdown of the new trade deals China has been making with Saudi Arabia, France, and Brazil. Seems worrisome for the future of the US Dollar when many countries are investing futures into the yuan.
Desperate move by the Saudis.
7:47 First of all, Thank you Peter Z.🧠✨. Second, that low-key made me jealous 😂 because, that looks like a beautiful trail to run ❤.
Curious your take on Germany's energy future, now that they're getting LNG from Qatar.
Funny fact: they would have their own natural gas for decades and coal for centuries. But they don’t want to penetrate the holy ground of the Aryan earth mother.😮
Big mistake. Qatar Isn't a democratic country. They should stay clear out of them.
I am more impressed Peter is giving a dissertation while hiking.
Peter, how does Turkeys 55.20% inflation rate affect their economy? That seems high ,but admittedly, im no expert lol.

🤔Enver Pasha’s Pan Turkic dream, in abeyance for the last hundred years.

Where in the .......world is Peter Zeihan..........Walking the line!
Thing is Britain's history in Ireland is sweetness and roses compared to Turkey's in the Balkans.
@Tzazo's Ghost exactly my point
I LOVE THE ROUTEBURN
Could you comment on recent developments in China, particularly Xi Jinping saying that he is preparing China for war! Thanks 🙏🏻
Another great videos sir
Turkey a Nation like Ferengi when it comes to trade. LOLOL!! Well that cleared it up!
Never knew Peter is into Star trek
Do you like RTS games Peter?
That is a perfect analogy comparing them to that of the ferengi
Hard to see the war as "Russia's to lose", Peter. Maybe we could have said that six months ago, but now they don't seem to be learning much about what they need to change, their economy is in long-term trouble, and their population advantage is also weakening.
Yes Russia is having a hard time in Donbas They would have to conquer the other 80% + of Ukraine to reach the Romanian border.
Honestly also hard to see Turkey dominating their own security alliance, fixing their economy or teaming with Southeastern EU member states.
I laughed so hard when you said a land full of ferengi I know it's you mean my dad watches Star Trek that just cracked me up
I lived in Bulgaria for while. You forgot to mention the rather messy history between Bulgaria and Turkey/Ottoman empire. The Bulgarians have not forgotten and that may influence their decision making.
I watch your videos daily.
Keep up the great work.
Did you say Ferengi ?
