    This will be very helpful for me. I like robotics but I don’t like to program using code. But now I can just animate what I want the robot to do. witch is great I will use this.

    Bottango is great. I bought Maxwell at last year's Maker Faire. I'm going to be at Maker Faire Bay Area 2024 (Oct. 18-20, 2024) showing Maxwell controlled from my Reflections ESP32-S3 development board. -Frank

    do you think you’ll ever do any tutorials on the software? it’s very simple but took a bit to really grasp

      Reece (and @Evan) - once I get more familiar with everything, I am definitely ready to help out with tutorials. I do a fair bit of that for my main bread and butter (video editing and VFX), and I am super excited about Bottango.

    This looks pretty rad. I'm looking to go through the documentation sometime this week, though from just downloading the software and playing around a bit, it seems pretty robust- with a slight learning curve. What would be ideal (as I'm very much a visual learner) is a video showing the basic setup of the different motor configurations, and the different flavors of Arduino that can be used. Also, if I'm understanding correctly, On/Off functionality is not currently available...? Just servo and stepper motors...? Maybe I misunderstand that point. The reason I ask is that I would like to tweak something really basic like a BillyBass to just see how all the parts come together, and the hardware for that particular device is motor-driven (On/Off states).

      (not exactly waiting, learning all the time.) But so far, just playing with the GUI is blowing me away - and I test and design GUis for a living (more or less), and this is what I've been imaging for the past couple years - gonna be hard to sleep tonight, can't WAIT to hook up some hardware

    Thank you for creating this, i'll try to use it. I'm doing my best to re-create an existing animatronic band called the Rock-afire Explosion, and i'm planning on using pneumatic air valves/cylinders like they did originally. I'm currently woking on making 3d models of the various parts and mechanisms of the characters. it's difficult, but thankfully i found a copy of the old service manual for them, and based upon the drawings/measurements in that i'm roughly re-creating them. Hopefully this software can be used to have each key on the key board be able to control each valve/movement. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful existence.

  • @justinm9763
    @justinm9763 4 года назад +7

    Wow, you honestly couldn’t have created this at a better time! You suggested this on Reddit when I was talking about my major FNAF animatronics project, and I’m pretty certain it’s going to be my go-to! Does the program have the ability to record motions done with a joystick and/or sync motors to audio (similar to TrackSkull and Virtual Show Assistant)?

    • @Bottango
      @Bottango  4 года назад +6

      Thanks! Right now the focus is on bringing the traditional 3D animation workflow to hardware control (keyframes, bezier curves, etc.). But getting feedback from end users on what features are important to them is why I posted this video! I'll consider that a vote for that kind of programming. If you try out Bottango, I'd love your feedback. Feel free to join our Discord community as well (link on the Bottango website). Good luck with your project, I'll be watching the updates (no matter what control strategy you take :) )
      EDIT: Oh, and yes, you can add as many audio tracks as you'd like to an animation, and synchronize your movements to audio easily.

      Evan McMahon Thank you! I’ve just downloaded the program and played around with the example project a bit- it’s a really fantastic interface! I’m hoping I can use the SSC-32u motor controller I’m using with the program, but regardless I think it’s going to be hugely successful. The fact that it’s currently offering such a huge array of features for free is spectacular!

    Bro wow... You have created a beast let me tell you. This is exactly how I always imagined robots in my head. This makes it really easy to understand and generate motions. is it an open source project? Can we contribute on git?
    1) Apart from that can you export file for a particular motion in CVS text and later can be used directly from SD card or something in realtime? That should make change of movements really easy.
    2) Can this create a basic arduino code for kids? that they can use ?
    3) Can we connect external IMU and see our robot moving?
    Thanks for your amazing creation, I am one click away from downloading this. :D cheers!!

    Awesome concept man! I love the idea. Any plans on applying other features beyond motor movement?
    Chatbots, speech engines, camera, sensors etc etc etc?
    I am currenrly running my bot through Myrobotlab (MRL) which is great in many respects as it ties all that stuff in, slider bars for servos with all the other stuff, but it has its flaws for sure. Making gestures etc would be amazing in your set up. Just would be curious on how to add in speech and opencv facetracking etc. Something for later down rhe road perhaps?
