I wouldn't recommend setting your expectations high for the 3.0 story, it's an introductory story to Amphoreus and will likely contain a decent amount of "yap" to get us invested into the backstory of what's going on.
Its kinda strange how Belebog chapter didn't have this type of boring exposition dragged for hours and it still work wonders. I'm not surprise if later info will came out confirming that they use A.I to write 3.0 story.
My gripes with HSR's storytelling isn't stemming from how story updates can go up to 10 hours, but how they decide to pace their writing and scenes. I can enjoy watching long movies like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Cuts and read a series with large page counts like the Harry Potter series because they are written EXTREMELY well with how they distribute and pace the worldbuilding, character interactions, exposition, and battles well together. They're long because they can afford to insert so much more content because of what they are afforded from the great writing I mentioned. Star Rail has lacked adequate pacing since Belobog ended. Their stories are long because 80% of the cast speaks with so much purple prose or they try to dissect and unpack so much philosophy from otherwise pretty digestible concepts, which then lengthens scenes to unnecessarily bloated segments. Higher diction is understandable in sci-fi/fantasy stories but Star Rail does a very rocky job with its storytelling. 2.7's story was actually short but I'd argue now they paced it TOO FAST because they crammed two character quests into one; the issue there now being nothing had enough time to breathe. 3.0 is speculated to be around ~10 hours so let's pray that they learn how to pace better. EDIT on 1/16: I just completed the 3.0 quest... and yeah the pacing is still something I do not like even if the worldbuilding they did was good.

As much as I love it, we are around the corner for the second anniversary and funnily enough, this around the same time I quit genshin impact ( right before its second anniversary). Around this time, more or less u can tell the direction a game is going. And when it comes to hsr, the direction it's going is DIRE. I was planning on pulling Madam Herta AND Jade, but now the plan is to hold off cuz I might be quiting so it's uncertain. Even if I end up not quitting, there may be a case where it's better for me to skip Herta anyways and instead go all in on my baby Acheron and Rappa since they're my favorite girls and investing vertically seems to be the better choice considering the fcking hp inflation. I fcking HATE this, and worst thing is that it might be too late (knowing Hoyoverse's track record).
At this very moment you can clear the current MoC 12 with acheron and jiaoqiu no lightcones no eidolons, pela and Gallagher. One side 3 cycles the other 2 cycles same teams. I hate the hp trajectory too but ultimately its skill issue. Hell even jingliu clears faster than acheron on average bcs of sunday robin. So idk why you'd complain about this. The entire video is a doom post. Wtf

This is coming for a player who actually really enjoyed penacony (like seriously I didn't even realise people hated penacony till a few weeks ago). I do hope Amphoreus can live up to the hype I felt for penacony I have so many good memories from the story and it's characters and enjoyed every quest (aside from anytime Sunday appeared, because I'm a hater 🪓) I do feel like Amphoreus is gonna be alot of yapping though, especially 3.0 since it's the introduction to the planet and whatever problems they have I feel as if many will quit the game from this though, I probably won't bc I am emotionally attached to this game (haha mental illness is fun /j) but yh

The Acheron name drop was not that big of a deal, literally just a name drop that confirms who she parallels for fans of the series. That’s all the expys ever are, u don’t ever actually have to know them, but if u do then it’s like “congrats, u got the reference”. That’s how they’re supposed to be treated, not liking them sounds more like it stems from a hate boner if anything. If that’s the case, this part of the story might be even more offensive to those that share the opinion. It’s been pretty obvious from the videos ppl have been posting around that it’s gonna parallel the “flame chaser” arc from hi3. More references most might not get, but a standalone story nonetheless.

Great summary. I think the story in Penacony could be forgiven if it was SHORTER. If for example, Hoyo is going to make Rappa's story so cringe/dumb, then Hoyo should have made it 30 minutes, so at least the suffering was short. Instead they made it 300 minutes. Meanwhile, Sunday's story had way more depth, and it was only 150 hours and that's with the Fugue/Tingyun part in it. Why couldn't Rappa's story be shorter? Did Hoyo really think we wanted 5 hours of "Slumbernana Monkey"? Contrast those stories with the character quests with Jingliu, Blade, Kafka, DHIL and Jing Yuan on the XL. Those are all like 30 minutes, get the point across, don't over-stay their welcome and I was left wanting more but was happy with what I got. That's the ideal. Or fix nothing and give us a skip button so we can end our suffering on our terms.
I appreciate that you just say what needs to be said, and honestly... the obvious truth hoyo players avoid more than taking a bath. After this whole powercreep talk i realized people will even eat s-... dung pie, if that means escaping from reality. My biggest gripe with how Hoyoverse tells the story in HSR is that they rely on player hype just a tad bit. I remember when i first started playing in one of the 2.X patches, i kept hearing about how peak Penacony is. So I went in with high expectations, assuming the story would flow well if i finished it all in one go. It didn't. A lot of the "mystery" of Penacony relies on the player having played it as it dropped in batches, not as a full, continuous story. I didn't have a chance to mourn Sunday, Robin, or Firefly because i can continue the quest line almost immediately after, and they're just fine, apparently! I couldn't feel shocked at Gallagher's actions because it's soon revealed his pet dog isn't malicious at all, actually! I, as a new player, got a disappointing storyline because I made the mistake of playing too late. It reminds me a bit too much of how mascot horror games operate. Release a chapter and hope the fans generate hype for it to draw others in and ignore the flaws in the storyline. Im not going to return for Amorpheus because I know the Trailblaze Missions will fall into the same pattern. It will end on a "mystery" hoping that players focus on that instead of them acknowledging the pacing and writing are not as good as they can be. I used to love the game, even spent money on it! But if the story gets disappointing eventually with no option to even skip, I just lose interest. They have money and experience, I just can't understand how Hoyoverse just drops the ball on their storytelling so often!
Tbh I play hsr only for story quest recently, I'm getting bored of the game, the fudging hard and long endgame contents (I hate GnG and Swarm, UD is simply autoplay, DU is repetitive) and the insane powercreep, so if the story won't improve I will leave the game. I stayed because I really wanted a playable Sunday, it was my only motivation this year. After 3.0 story quest It wasn't that bad but too long for me. The last 2 hours were only yapping except the boss fight (just like the last hours of main Penacony story). I was so glad when Phainon came back, his presence always cheered me up. That part with The Herta and the mirrors killed me. I had to skip it.
I am here to tell you that they did NOT deliver. It has once again bloated boring dialogue with about 7+ hours of talking a lot while saying very little. Then add all the badly paced crap in between the dialogue and you have a badly paced 12+ hour long story.
Honkai feels regularly starved for content lately, and they keep giving us short ass, uninteresting events (Free stellar jade is nice, but it doesn't change the boredom). ZZZ has been feeling GREAT lately and there's CONSTANTLY content to play.

Penacony delivered. Idk nor do i care why some of you disliked it. Had. Cool world building, nice story, insane VA, crazy cutscenes. Xianzhou had insane side quests but all interesting characters were missing: kafka, blade, jingliu barely saw them. Belobog arguably the most boring bcs of all the snow and introductions etc. wardance was cool, and the filler quests except for sunday bitch crying the whole patch, and the monkey song, the rest was fine. Ofc amphoreus has to deliver, but the sole reason is... Because it's the first patch of the year 🙃
I wholeheartedly disagree on the Penacony , i enjoy it but it does wear on you after Playimg , Powercreep stuff is take it or leave , i know im gonna get hate on this but as long as you are smart in investing , you should be fine

Definitivamente la historia 2.6 fue una mierda muy horrible llena de monos y texto inutil. Yeah duration is like amount of food you eat, if you feast upon the whole thing then it won't taste good. You kinda need to pace it.

Release a chapter and hope the fans generate hype for it to draw others in and ignore the flaws in the storyline.
Im not going to return for Amorpheus because I know the Trailblaze Missions will fall into the same pattern. It will end on a "mystery" hoping that players focus on that instead of them acknowledging the pacing and writing are not as good as they can be.
I used to love the game, even spent money on it! But if the story gets disappointing eventually with no option to even skip, I just lose interest. They have money and experience, I just can't understand how Hoyoverse just drops the ball on their storytelling so often!

I love this game and I am still playing it but I can't say this game hasn't disappointed me several times

Tbh I play hsr only for story quest recently, I'm getting bored of the game, the fudging hard and long endgame contents (I hate GnG and Swarm, UD is simply autoplay, DU is repetitive) and the insane powercreep, so if the story won't improve I will leave the game. I stayed because I really wanted a playable Sunday, it was my only motivation this year.
After 3.0 story quest
It wasn't that bad but too long for me. The last 2 hours were only yapping except the boss fight (just like the last hours of main Penacony story). I was so glad when Phainon came back, his presence always cheered me up. That part with The Herta and the mirrors killed me. I had to skip it.
I have low expectations for early version 3 story. The writer story is predictable but twist is good.
I am here to tell you that they did NOT deliver. It has once again bloated boring dialogue with about 7+ hours of talking a lot while saying very little. Then add all the badly paced crap in between the dialogue and you have a badly paced 12+ hour long story.
What happened to the livestream?
Honkai feels regularly starved for content lately, and they keep giving us short ass, uninteresting events (Free stellar jade is nice, but it doesn't change the boredom).
ZZZ has been feeling GREAT lately and there's CONSTANTLY content to play.

Even before the recent bandwagon hate of penacony story, i always feel the story is not good at all.
Penacony delivered. Idk nor do i care why some of you disliked it. Had. Cool world building, nice story, insane VA, crazy cutscenes. Xianzhou had insane side quests but all interesting characters were missing: kafka, blade, jingliu barely saw them. Belobog arguably the most boring bcs of all the snow and introductions etc. wardance was cool, and the filler quests except for sunday bitch crying the whole patch, and the monkey song, the rest was fine.
Ofc amphoreus has to deliver, but the sole reason is... Because it's the first patch of the year 🙃

I wholeheartedly disagree on the Penacony , i enjoy it but it does wear on you after Playimg , Powercreep stuff is take it or leave , i know im gonna get hate on this but as long as you are smart in investing , you should be fine

Como jugador en español estoy bastante de acuerdo con lo que dices. Personalmente no me gusto mucho la conclusion de 2.2 y menos la 2.3 con las muertes falsas de firefly. Definitivamente la historia 2.6 fue una mierda muy horrible llena de monos y texto inutil. Entre el powercreep, no me gusten tanto los pesonajes de la 3.x y la narrativa insoportable me planteo desinstalar en juego.
Tbh yea the story is good and the characters look amazing but the way they made the enemies is so bad for people who don't have fua or premium units the enemies are stupidly overpowered and if you want to get through the battle you would need a good character or the herta since hsr has abandoned dot and now making fua characters

I quit HSR 'cause of story telling from Stellaron view, not from Welt Yang. It absurd to make Welt really strong SIDE character rather ONE OF THE IMPORTANT character.
I still believe player is false protagonist rather true protagonist.

Yeah I don't think the HP inflation is gonna be resolved anytime soon. We definitely need more endgame modes and better stories for sure. I wish Hoyo actually listened to Global more instead of the CN side.
Global side is a bunch of pathetic losers who whine about everything. Is it necessary to listen to such people? And, ironically, tpeople who complain the most about the problems are the same who haven't invested anything in this game.
