@HistoricalWeapons, Without enforcing the law, the law is useless. In CH's country they mean business. They even sh**t embezzlers or those who accept bribes in high places.
I was in Wuxi twice for work. Walked around a lot with a friend who likes to explore, both from USA, even at night along a walking path by the river which was rather lonely, but all seemed perfectly safe. Once we came upon a bunch of older guys playing cards under an overpass, they kind of looked at us like “who are these clowns”, but generally everyone ignored us. I asked a Chinese friend from work about it and he said you are perfectly safe.
Ha ha, a society that has low crime just because of the fear to be caught by a camera will go on full cannibal mode when the lights go out during a natural disaster or war or economic collapse.

China is the best place to live in the world due to the absence of crime. The CCP is the best political party in the world and very effective in governance.
Meanwhile in some countries, the politicians would fight against cameras at the expense of many stabbings, break-ins, kidnapping and drug dealings. The politicians who work with the criminal gangs and legalizing crimes would tell their patriotic citizens that cameras are draconian because China use it and their people would somehow believe it (maybe due to the result of their DEI education). Funny that the cameras are only a problem in China because they have never mentioned other safe countries like South Korea, Israel or Singapore ....... The greatest freedom in the US is freedom to bear arms. That tells the whole story.
