Billy Crystal Remembers His Friend, Robin Williams
/ fallontonight Приколы
I'm watching this almost 6 years later and I'm still not over the fact that he's gone.
I still miss Robin so much.
Same.
He was a man who showed humanity wrapped in one person.
Same my friend..
Mee too bro still miss in 2020
The way Billy lit up when Jimmy said he had a story about Robin made me tear up.
I know that was so cute
I am 31 years old and Robin William's death was the first celebrity passing where I thought a part of my childhood had died.
+Blake Hardy That's how I felt when River Phoenix died. I have a few years on you.
***** Hey, we are all just dust in the wind.
That was me when John Ritter died! I loved Robin too! I still think about Joan Rivers. Every Friday I watched Fashion Police!
Same here Blake Hardy
This was me when Michael Jackson died. I was equally as shocked when Robin passed. Extremely tragic.
I still search for Robin stuff on RUclips all the time. Still miss him. Still makes me laugh. Thank you Mr. Williams for your amazing talent and good nature. RIP
Luckily we live in the time of RUclips and the Internet where we have access to an unlimited supply of Robin Williams material. I miss seeing him on all the late night talk shows
Wtf!
Excited now that you have an excuse to talk to Whoopi?
Kelly Pettit Me too :(
Reflex 9999 i watch hjm Evers nite before i go to sleep maks me happy
Billy Crystal seems like such a nice guy. Like a genuine all-around nice guy.
Too true...I was crying watching his tribute to Robin Williams, just heart wrenching and so sweet at the same time.
+Rasmus “Ralz” Hansen he seems utterly phony
Check out his eulogy for Muhammad Ali.
Love him ❤️
@@tiotito31 Literally the greatest eulogy I've ever seen. No clue they were close friends, it's a beautiful thing. Everyone should watch that eulogy, it's got some real wisdom in it.
That bus sounds freaking legendary. Some of the funniest actors together on one bus, and I loved how Robin wasn't afraid to make fun of himself. He truly was one of a kind, and I still miss him even today
It still feels like someone close to me passed away even though I never even met him
Yea, i can totally relate :)
I KNOW, WHAT IS IT?!
I felt the same about Ryan Dunn.
I never met him...just so damn likable.
Just happy to see him doing something.
Sad that he made that dumb decision.
Because we connected with the funny, meaningful characters he played
onpsxmember I love jackass and I felt that loss
And then Billy Crystal stood up in the end and the tears just flooded down my face.
I held it together until that moment and I thought to myself, "Jesus that's perfect" and I cried. :*)
Dido! ❤😢
Wow, those were some good stories. Robin Williams was, sorry *is* a legend - in every sense of the word.
Legend? Disagree. The legends are the people who live with depression and mental illness who dont commit suicide.
***** For me, legendary status is bestowed to those whose contributions outweigh their demise, and their life continues to inspire generations. Suicide is a difficult issue, but we shouldn't devalue their worth to humanity even if they took their own lives.
Damn, I feel like watching 'Father's Day' again, haha!
Si awevo preciosa
@locker, I agree.
I was Robins Landlord back in the "Mork & Mindy" days he had an apartment at "Peyton Hall" in Hollywood, so did McLane Stevenson, of Mash, Robin was such a shy person It's incredible to think he's gone now
It's incredible to believe that Robin Williams was actually shy. I never heard this till he passed away. ...he was always so loud on talk shows, however when I watched him in certain movies such as Garp and Mrs. Doubtfire and even on Mork and Mindy I could tell that he was just playing different parts of himself. He was so good doing scenes with kids, like in "Hook".....he was like a big kid himself. ...RIP, Robin.
j.denino57 Haven't you heard that the biggest 'clowns' are the shyest people in private? Haven't you heard that they all cry inside whereas in the public eye they are just "funny and loud big kids"?
Think of Charlie Chaplin. Do you think in private he was "funny" and made hilarious stunts all the time? No way.
Comedians are usually the most bitter and melancholic people in the world.
And they're generally very lonely.
"Funny" very rarely means "happy". I know it, because im a clown type too.
morrisal Me too. I like to make people laugh at work, when I come home, not a good feeling. It is funny when you are funny, but no body understands it is a Defense, against the cruel and angry world we live in. But when no one is around we are not that funny because we live in our own mind.
@@morrisal OMG but how is that possible
Incredible
One of the saddest losses in Hollywood. RIP.
+Lacey Noel dont you mean the saddest?
One that will never not hurt.
Very Beloved, Robin is
Absolutely 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@cottoncandyfriends8933 No, Lewy Body Dementia did that, it's hard to accept but in his situation taking his own life while he still had the cognitive function and physical ability to do so was almost certainly the least horrible thing he could have done for himself and those who loved him. The disease he was suffering with is that horrible. The whole thing was and is utterly sad. Robin had a Charisma and Talent that touched people and resonated with them in such a way that I think he will always be missed by those who knew him, even if only indirectly through his work. ❤
a friend of mine made a picture with him and wrote on it: "It's so strange that we now live in a world without Robin Williams in it." My God, how true that is! He's such a huge part of our history!!
Still can't get over it. I've never been affected by a celebrity death like this. I genuinely miss him--and I've never met the guy!
Me too.
You and a lot of other people. I think of him daily. It's like a family member died. At least he left a great legacy of work. I find new things out every day i did not know he had many obscure projects, he did USO tours for the troops overseas, etc.
I know what you mean. When I found out I was very upset. He was a piece of my childhood. It was as if he was my tv dad.
You and I both... still stings to this day.
Me too the only one that made me cry. Haven't bern able to watch any if his films since and only really stated watching clips about him on RUclips recently! My favourite actor of all time!
Nicest guy ever. I can't believe I got to meet him and talk to him. He will always be missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Rest in peace Robin Williams you will be missed.
Bet you wish more people had followed up with questions
Billy tells the best stories
Billy always comes across as real genuine. You know, kind of like that "warm-hearted neighbor you sit with and drink coffee while talking about anything and everything all morning long" kind of neighbor. You walk away knowing "today is going to be a good day".... that is the type of person he has always reminded me of.
"No way this motherfucker wins"
God , so genuine and so funny. He is truly the one and the only greatest comedian in my time.
This ghost will haunt DuCocky almost forever, reminds everyone why Bush conquered '88.
@@boomerang8909 is it time to move on
Robin Williams will forever be missed, such an undeniable talent that simply cannot be matched
Just love it. Bless Billy's heart. We all love Robin so much.
Rest in Peace, Robin. You are dearly missed.
No matter how much time passes I will always shed a tear when I see Billy talk about Robin.
I will always miss Robin Williams he was the best.
Mr Williams , we miss you terribly ! The world is less funny without you.
Sandra Chan , Miss Sandra truer words were never spoken Dearheart. I couldn't agree more with you. Please if you wouldn't mind sharing with me 3 of your favorite Robin Williams films. Mine are the following: RV, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Good Will Hunting. Please take care of yourself. 😀😀😀😀
It`s been 2 years and I still miss him...he`s part of my childhood memories...his movies are...Mrs.Doubtfire, Hook, Aladdin, Jumanji, Flubber
KK Plac Mr. Keating...
didn`t use to watch dead poets society when I was a kid....so it doesn`t belong in my childhood memory...still memorable and awesome performance of Williams and totally worth mentioning :)
Absolutely! As someone who grew up in the early 90's with basically the golden age of Disney movies, we felt like we were on a magical ride in movies like Aladdin and Hook, and that was mostly because of Robin. The great thing about him too is that he was just as much of a genius in dramatic movies as he was in comedies in my view. Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come, Dead Poets Society, the list goes on... Along with names like Steven Spielberg, Robin Williams is one of the most influential names in the movie/entertainment industry. He was THAT impactful!
Good Morning,Vietnam and Dead Poets soceity
Good will Hunting
I love how rather than ruminate on the sadness of the loss they immediately choose to celebrate the genius that Robin Williams was through all these awesome stories.
Mr. Crystal, please know how much we all love you.
+misc nope
Rest in peace Robin Williams. You will be greatly missed.
Well done Billy. So composed while talking about something that clearly makes your heart and soul hurt so badly. Mine still do, never mind yours
Billy is really, truly a great man. As if we needed anymore proof. :)
+Mike Boland Agreed. Something about the way he jumped at the chance to hear Jimmy's story was just so genuine and heartfelt.
+Hadrian EXACTLY.
Mike Boland a
a couple of guys wrote a book about the easiest celebrities to approach for autographs, and Billy Crystal got the lowest grade, on account of one situation they witnessed, when a young girl about 12 years old, and she asked him for an autograph, and he said "the last thing I need is to give an autograph to some girl with braces" she was completely crestfallen, so as far as I'm concerned he's a douche.
How can someone put thumbs down in this video?
They are just selfish
Marcio Couto It goes back to an old saying-"There's one in every crowd".
Lorraine Corso yeah, unfortunatelly.
Lorraine Corso Too true.
Marcio Couto Probably because Jimmy has a knack for not allowing a great story to come out as it should
I wanted to come back to this interview today. It's one of my favorites. I love the way Billy talks about Robin. It still doesn't feel real that he's gone, almost 9 years later.
Out of all the celebrity remembrance videos for Robin this was my favorite. Such truly personal stories being shared here, thank you Billy and Jimmy!
Thank you Billy for reminding us from time to time what Robin as a man and as an actor was.
I love the way how you do it and it shows how real friend you are. You have a good heart and that's make the man you are.
R.I.P. Robin Williams
Every day since you left I have watched a video with you in it. My little way of keeping you here. Love you Robin Williams.
I do the same thing. I have been thinking I am too obsessed.
Haha...me too. Even watched all the Mork and Mindy videos on yt and ordered most of his movies and watched quite a few. Obsessed is right. He was so funny, cute, great actor.
I though I was the only one doing that! Relieved that I'm not the only one watching every single video of him to keep him alive...
2019, I'm still crying.
You really want to know what a special person he was Noah Gunderson wrote a song entitled Robin Williams I am telling you the first time I heard it I cried . It is on you tube. Miss him in 2019. 😇
Beautiful.
1 year to the day... still miss him
R.I.P Robin Williams.
he is the best! rip
You're face sucks
Hoobo Dakloos
Hey, let's make a poll on who sucks more, you or Robin. Oh wait, I don't want you to be fucking devastated. Although...
Zach James Your*
***** You are right
I still feel deeply saddened by Robin's death even as of today.
It's still makes me sad
The unlikely friendship and bond between Mike Wazowski and the Genie is represented heavily here, and it’s excellent...
Introducing Christopher Reeve: " Ladies and Gentleman, a man on a roll. "
Only Williams could pull that off.
Billy is a BEAUTIFUL SOUL !!! I am now 56 and remember him when he first came out on SOAP in 1977 !
Amazing for Billy & Jimmy to have shared their stories. Thank you all three beautiful comics. Thanks for the love and laughs. XOXOXO
I couldn't stop crying after Robin Williams passed for weeks. By far one of the BEST comedians of ALL time.
+natlek08 Another testament on how to remember your influence in life might not seem like much but suicide is never an answer. The lives you touch are ALWAYS greater than you can ever imagine and the impact you have on everyone around you is extraordinary.
It's been years since his passing & this one still hurts. RIP Robin you are missed.
Lovely moment of genuine admiration, brought tears to my eyes.
I so love Billy Crystal. And Robin Williams is so sadly missed. RIP.
No matter how many times I watch this, it always tears me up. RIP Robin, and God help all those who've lost you
The only 2 celebrity deaths to really hit me were Michael Jackson's and Robin Williams'. Both amazing and warmhearted men who were always being judged and falsely accused but stayed strong as long as they could.
How can you even put Michael jack sons name in the same sentence as Robbin William !
marty muller Because both were legendary human beings with great hearts. You can't even spell Robin Williams' name correctly so you're not one to speak about what names to use in a sentence.
+Michael J. Jackson Michael's death never affected me in any way because i never really ( i don't think i am explaining this right) thought of him as sort of..like a person, i guess. I was really really young when he died and for me, he was just someone with AMAZING songs and that's it. Robin, on the other hand was a kind, wonderful person who made me laugh as long as I can remember,
Potter Perfect That's all on you, man (: Michael's death hit me like a train. He was not only the greatest entertainer of all time but he was also (in my opinion), one of the most kindhearted and loving people to have walked the Earth.
Michael J. Jackson i guess, i just never, even to this day, really heard of anything he did, but all i hear are AMAZING stories about Robin
Laughed and cried a little. Robin Williams was my favorite actor and comedian ever. My prayers go out to his family and friends
I had the ultimate pleasure of having Robin shake my hand, ask my name & how I enjoyed myself on my one & only extra work on his movie Man Of The Year. He took time to greet & thank all the extras just as things were ending for the night. This was about 2 AM & I was thrilled the whole bus ride home. You could tell it was not just something he wanted to do but loved doing. It will be a moment I will treasure even more now. Just so sad what happened to this wonderful, loving soul. Bangerang, oh captain my captain. See you in Neverland !!
oh man lol, that bus ride would have been epic
If I was on that bus I of probably peed myself from laughing so hard !!
Tim O'Brien Same
I remember Billy and Whoopie crying/laughing watching Robin during Comic Relief.....it was a beautiful thing.
Still can't believe that Robin Williams is gone. Such a major loss for all of us.
Still missing robin williams 2019 😢😢
And in 2021 😢
Robin brought into this world the brightest light & such hope & humor. With his passing.... the bright light extinguished & the laughter in this world has died somewhat..... Miss him still.... so very very sad.
8 years!!! The tragedy grows more every year
Miss ya still
Billy Crystal reminds me so much of my dad and my uncles; they look similar and tell their stories in a similar fashion with the same facial expressions. Not only him, but Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd as well
2019 and we still miss him every day
Billy Crystals Is such a legend and I love that Robin and him were dear friends they were both incredible
still watching this 8 years later and still can’t believe that he’s gone
*~"Smile, my boy It's sunrise."~*
SaLGames the last words he ever said in a movie. and they're truly wonderful
Yes, They truly are wonderful. *R.I.P*
Dear God. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years. I really miss Robin Williams …
He did an amazing job, and the way he held it together
Robin Williams did so many great and funny things that I'm still hearing new ones... RIP
8 years since he left us... it is still unbelievable and so sad. Rest in Peace, Robin 🖤
Robin Williams was an incredible humanitarian - he will be greatly missed...look into the many charities that he donated to and donate in his honor....keep his memory alive!
Next year it will be 9 years since Robin passed away.
I still miss him, but I am happy to be able to watch all the great performances in movies and in tv productions he left us to enjoy. He made movies you can watch over an over again. 🥰🥰🥰 I will never forget him.
It's been almost three years and I still feel the deepest sadness when I think of the wonderful legend Robin Williams is
Such a sweet guy and you can see how torn up he is about Robin. So sad but very cute stories!
It's kinda hard to watch certain Robin Williams movies,He had such a beautiful heart...Just gets me.
It's 2019 and it still hit me in the gut everytime i think about him... bought the Alladin DVD recently, tears in my eyes...
Happy birthday, Robin. You are deeply loved and missed. 💜🕊️
THIS IS GOLD.
That story on Robin predicting Dukakis' defeat against Bush Sr... Proof you don't cut off a comedian's line, like Robin Williams... If only you were still here, Robin... Oh, what will you say of the candidates today...
I don't think he could have predicted the current outcome of what we're going through with IQ-45.
Ohh, Robin would have taken on covid head on and then go on to mock both biden and trump
A never to be forgotten AMAZING talent and a beautiful person. Literally MILLIONS of people felt this deeply as a tragic loss. rest in peace weary warrior. rest in peace.
Six years later and I still cry when I see Robin or hear a tribute to him. I hope he’s out there somewhere seeing just how much he was loved. Some people you just never get over. 💔
Fantastic! Jimmy you should have just a evening with close friends of Robin Williams and just tell stories like this.
Fantastic idea!!!!
R.I.P Robin Williams. We love you and will never forget you😭
Molly Feinstein He's impossible to forget! I grew up watching him ever since Mork & Mindy first aired on tv. He made me laugh so big time but my favourite piece of work he ever did was actually Dead Poets society. He was so brilliant in that movie...as always.
Oh captain my captain, smooth sailing to more comfortable waters and shores where peace will be upon you...
RIP Robin...the world will never be the same without you!
Per-Ivar Sandbæk PREACH
I just falled apart when he died, I could barely get out of bed. Then, I watched my favorite movies of his Good Will Hunting and Aladdin.
My grand daughter and I watched Aladdin every day for about 2 months straight when she was 4. She didn't want to see anything else and learned the genie songs and dance steps and would dance and sing along with Robin....My true Robin love was FisherKing
@@smartern Me too, I love the Fisher King, and it's so underrated.
I miss him every day. We lost such a talent and light in our lives.
Amazing stories. I love hearing the personal side of things it gives this feeling of connectivity :) When someone is that close to someone who passes no amount of words can do any justice. RIP Robin.
It was weird hearing Mike Wizowski say "motherfucker"
Such wonderful memories Thank you for sharing
Billy, you're so loved. Thank you for keeping Robin's memory alive ❤❤❤❤
Don't judge mental illness. Don't call someone mentally weak. You have not walked in their shoes nor do you understand the overwhelming terror that grips their very core! This is depression with a super hold and the actions you take while in its grip should not be held against you. I lost my brother to suicide and while I would never condone someone taking their life, I certainly realize that action is often the only way out of the terrible sickness they live with, day in, day out. They feel is the only way out. Prior to my brother's death, I may have held a similar thought about the action being some kind of choice. It really isn't though. RIP Dave and Robin Williams!
Diane Skelliter Don't call men who've lost everything in unfair divorce laws "mentally ill".
Robin was massively mistreated by unfair marriage laws which always take from men.
He was paying lifetime alimony to two exwives! He was facing a third failed marriage which would greatly increase his monthly bills to these predatory bitches right when he was trying to retire!
That's a serious strain for ANYONE to face (lucky for you, women never have to face this, only divorced men). It's not a "mental illness" to suffer under such injustice!
Your agenda has nothing to do with my statement regarding the very real disease of mental illness and depression. I'm not interested in an ongoing discussion, on this particular forum, on unfair divorce practices.
Diane Skelliter You're comment has nothing to do with the actual LEGAL punishments men face (and ROUTINELY kill themselves over).
Labeling that mental illness is a way to ignore the truth.
No probs. God bless.
Today is 2 years anniversary of Robin's death. Oh Captain My Captain
Kilbeboy Joshi oh, hell old is this
I could listen all day to Billy Crystal and Jimmy tell stories about Robin Williams-
Robin Williams was really the only person I always wanted to meet and have a conversation with. Out of everyone, his passing was the hardest for me to take, and I still feel it. He's a big inspiration for my humor and creativity and I respect and miss him still. I'll always miss you, RIP Robin Williams.. you were a true gem.. and you'll be missed.
the world is sadder without Robin
one of my favorite robin Williams tributes is a picture of the genie from aladdin that said your free genie
Robin Williams will always have a place in my heart. Absolutely wonderful man. Too bad it had to end the way it did. RIP
Very touching words from billy
Rest in Peace, Robin Williams. People in the world will remember you always
Robin's spirit will live on forever. I miss knowing that his physical body is present in the world.
I never new him or got to see his act. But i felt deeply saddened by his death. No other celebrity death hit me like the news of robin williams. 5 years later and i still feel sad we lost such an amazing entertainer. He was a amazing actor and comedian. There will never be another like him.
This is beautiful 😍❤️😍❤️😍
Robin was an undisputed comedy genius.
Robin was the greatest that ever lived. RIP
I love how he knew to stand up at the right time and really enjoy that bow and applause.
What a beautiful person and soul
