Great video! I will probe this method but I have a question. If you put that 3mA (or any value of external current) doesn't affect the microcontroller? Because if the output pin has a low output the current is introduced through this terminal to the ground. Would you need to view the specifications of the MCU and the entire circuit? We should desolder the resistance that connects the gate and the pin (mcu) to protect and maintain the chip safe. Saludos desde Buenos Aires.

I have 4 triacs in a circuit controlling 4 separate heating elements. One of them went bad so i replaced it with the same part number. However, the replaced new triac output is not turning on. When I tested the terminal voltages within the circuit, for the working traics, all three terminals are showing 120V (which was surprising as i thought T3 voltage should be lower as it is a gate). For the non-working triac, T1 voltage is 1.2V AC while T2 and T3 voltages are 120V AC. Would greatly appreciate your input here on what might be the issue. Thanks.
Thanks a lot for detailed explanation of on board triac testing.For my defective Control PCB of IFB Dishwashing machine ,one of the TRIAC Z0 103M is found damaged due to short cicuied componant. Is it possible to get the TRIAC Z0103 M from your end or pl. suggest any other equivalent TRIAC Number for replacing the defective triac Z0103M.
I want to ask if there is any possibility to damage the triac gate driver circuit when you apply the voltage through 100k resistor. i have tried same method in coil relay to check if it works or not and most of the time a damage relay switching transistor? For example applying 5V in a 5V coil relay without removing it from the circuit

sir i have a doubt if we touch gate of a triac it goes permanently on but while you touch the gate it is going on and after you removing the black probe the triac is going off how it is possible. thank you so much sir for giving us wonder full educational videos.
best regards you are mixing SCR with TRIAC. when SCR is triggered, it conducts and the remains ON, because the load current remains constant due to DC voltage in TRIAC, when the load current becomes low than its threshold limits due to changing cycle, because it is used in AC circuits. so when we remove signal from the gate of triac and the load current is dropped than the threshold, the triac turns off and it gets ready for next gate trigger you can also check video number 571 as well for more details
