I have loved Switchfoot since my daughter was in high school. She is now 33 Yr old!! We followed them all over Texas from Corpus Christi to Houston, Austin in the freezing cold at Stubbs, to 6 flags in Dallas. Their music turned my faith back to God after a Sad Divorce. They continue to get better & better….. I hope to see them again someday!! Nancy Casey City Church Corpus Christi, Tx
This is the first album I ever bought with my own money. I was 16 and mowed lawns. It ended up affecting me, becoming part of me more than any other album ever.
I'm sure you guys have heard this a million times but this was the album that made me a fan. My mom got me Learning to Breathe as a gift a few years prior but the opening riffs to "Meant to Live" just had me hooked and I wanted more. I think "Meant to Live" and "On Fire" are possibly my two favorite songs from the album and having seen you guys live twice I love singing along with "Gone"
SO excited for this guys. This was the album on the car stereo as I pulled out of high school for the last time in 2003. I’m still listening 20 years later and can’t wait to hear these new versions!
The song Gone was literally a prophecy to me... i was trying to hold on to a flimsy relationship and that song literally played in my mind. It was the spirit of God beckoning me to let go of the dead and find real life in Him. Thank you Switchfoot. May God bless you. Can't wait to hear Your Version
From Southamerica, Santiago de Chile, Switchfoot, you guys are my favorite band since I was 16, today I'm 33. The release of this album it means a lot to me. The music you have created represents practically all the phases of my life that I have been going through since I was a teenager. You have been the soundtrack of my life, I have cried, laughed and jumped with your songs. One of the dreams of my life is to be able to listen to you live at one of your concerts. I hope I can fulfill it before I die. Excited to hear this version of The Beautiful Letdown! I love you with all my heart, Switchfoot, thank you for delivering so much through your music. Can't wait to hear it! thank you so much for all you do as a band.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh... I'm crying. This is the most excited I've been to hear an album in as long as I can remember. Switchfoot has gotten me through some very hard times.
I remember that album took forever to come out. I started going to the chatroom around LTB (around 2000. Indirectly met my wife through the SF chatroom too), and that turned into the discussion boards, which announced the album, followed by many announcements of delays. But definitely worth the wait.
Nothing is Sound comes close, but The Beautiful Letdown is Switchfoot's best album, IMO. Can't wait to see them play it live this fall! Switchfoot has changed me and my wife's life forever. Amped!
Thankful to have been along for part of your ride....Hello Hurricane was my first Switchfoot concert and I've been a fan ever since. Your Beautiful Letdown tour was epic and you rocked Portland as usual...
Just pored over this beautiful album remake… I’m remembering where I was when I first heard these songs at 13 years old and hearing it now as a husband and father at 32…. 🥲 they mean even more to me now than they did then I think. It feels like I’m listening to it for the first time all over again and I can’t thank you guys enough for this beautiful gift! You guys have and will continue to be my favorite band. God bless brothers.
Listened for sooo many years and had never heard the story about the label dropping them last minute! Wow. Been listening to “our version” album this whole week. 20 years later and I’m still discovering new meanings behind the lyrics now that I’m older. Thanks guys!!
Look what can happen when you Don't give up... many times people quit when success is just around the corner. THANKS FOR NOT GIVING UP, SWITCHFOOT! (and don't you give up either!)
I've been listening to The Beautiful Letdown a lot these days since the tour announcement, it's great to continue listening to your own version. Thanks for the album guys.
Legendary Game Changing Album. The Album Title and the Record Company Dropping You at the Album’s Release truly is Ironic. The Jokes on them and the Rest is Your History and What a Great History it Is.
This was the album that made most people fans I'd imagine, especially since it was around the time when many songs were featured in A Walk to Remember. Loved seeing you perform a lot of those songs live as well. Much love!
The Beautiful Letdown came out when I was going through an awkward phase of my life and I really connected with every song on that album. Some of those songs were the first songs I wanted to learn on guitar and I still listen to it today! Your guy's music has been so important in how I grew up. Keep on rocking it!
I swear I'm buying this as soon as it's out, this album means so so much to me that no one would ever understand and it's specifically gotten me through some of the darkest times of my life s, thank you Switchfoot for all the heard work and amazing music throughout the years you've been such an interspersion to little old me all the way back in the 2000's.
This is amazing! I've been trying to get beautiful letdown on vinyl for over a year but it's so expensive to get nowadays. Thrilled to have the chance to get it now!
Yes! Cant wait to see you guys AGAIN in CT this year! I had a blast at Indian Ranch last summer with Collective Soul. I know for certain all the staff were happy to have you all there. I cant wait to hear the re-recorded tracks!
The Beautiful Letdown is my favorite complete album of all time. Came out when I was in high school and it was the anthems for that time. Both for good and bad times. Our band played the songs everyday just because we enjoyed them so much. I've been to 10+ Switchfoot concerts. My father still has to this day the beginning of "On Fire" for his phone ring tone. So looking forward to this rerecord.
OMG, i listened to Switchfoot quite frequently when i was a teenage, and today just though hey I should listen to Switchfoot and then I found out (Our Version), it is so superb and sound so modern! I love it!
I'm so happy. Even though I'm not a christian anymore, these songs remain amazing and beautiful. This album helped me through some difficult times and it's Still one of my faves.
Sorry to hear that. Be careful out there, the world has gotten a LOT crazier than it was when this album came out. You might need more than enjoyable music to get you through this time around.
These were the fastest twenty years of my life. I remember buying the album and cranking it up in my car in the way home and thinking it was perfect from start to end. And all this years later still think is perfect and beautiful. Your music is the one I always introduce to non Christian friends that think Christian music is boring and unartistic, and always change their minds.
Woah, this is so exciting! This album introduced me to Switchfoot, and I remember listening to it nonstop on my old clickwheel iPod. The song "24" always meant a lot to me, even though I was 10 years younger. When I turned 24 myself, it took on a whole new meaning. Now I'm 30. Man, these songs went a lot of places with me. Thank you, Switchfoot. ❤️
I was 16 when I first heard Meant To Live on Fuse. I was hooked on it and got the album on Christmas Day of the same year. I’m still hooked on it at the ripe age of 36. Will forever be a fan of the album and Switchfoot because of your perseverance and determination to get it out, despite the odds that we’re against you guys.
I can’t wait for this new album! I am a music fanatic (with hundreds of albums & CDs in my collection), and The Beautiful Letdown is my favorite album of all genres and of all time; it’s a perfect blend of musicianship & real faith in God. I genuinely love & appreciate you men (& the families/wives/kids/parents who support you), your music, your unashamedly real faith in Jesus (that’s unafraid to ask questions), your encouragement, & your willingness to go where God leads you! Keep up the good work, men!
I still remember watching these guys at The Mercury Lounge New York City back in September 2002. Maybe two people knew who the group even was, and the other 50ish had no idea. I still have the setlist🥰
Listening right now. Pretty cool hearing these again redone after 20 years later. Some of the original versions are REALLY hard to top, especially the bigger hits back then due to SO MUCH nostalgia. But some of the other songs really shine in a different way. And Dare You to Move... still such a great song and this might be my new favorite version. I will also say this, as I'm now in my 30's, the line "yesterday is a wrinkle on your forehead" just hit me really different than it did when I was a teen listening to this. Bravo you guys.
I found you guys through your 2nd album - new way to be human. But then The Beautiful Letdown came out and haven’t stopped listening since! Can’t wait to sing along with y’all at Del Mar 🤘
Jajaja, de hecho iba a decir, la primera latina, porque tú estás en Norteamérica, entonces sí soy la primera de Suramérica, pero no la primera latina. Jajaja 😅🤭 Explicación larga. Ya está.
I’m excited to see you guys in October. I’m going to weep and cry like a baby you guys have been my childhood MODEL for music. I got into the rock genre in general because of you guys. You had such a beautiful influence in my life along with Christ Jesus ;) and it radically changed me and uplifted me as a human being. I’m so ready to go see you in house of blues
Holy Smokes I'm excited about this! This was the album that made me a Switchfoot fan! And for once I get to be the guy that says "this releases on my birthday!" 😂
Started listening to you guys at learning to breathe but i remember meant to live playing on the radio at the pool in the summer the year it came out. I remember watching the music video for that song and and for stars when it came out in windows media player back in the day haha.
I have loved Switchfoot since my daughter was in high school. She is now 33 Yr old!! This is beautiful and not a letdown

The intro to This is Your LIfe still gives me chills the way that note bends.
Great band! Their songs always inspire.

Wow this takes me back! When I first heard this album it blew my sheltered evangelical kid mind! So excited for this!
