Also, yeah someimes the stats don't make a lot of sense to me also, but if they did the calculations right, it is pretty easy to find out the number of the speed, cause you just need to calculate how long does he takes the player to move from one point to another on the field (cause, you know the lenght of it based on the lines and pattern/patches of grass also) and in what time.
With footballs worldwide reach the fasted footballer is gonna be similar if not faster then NFL, but on average NFL is clear because the sport is centred around it.

Firstly how can you say that you don’t want to hear the arguments about top speeds of players and that numbers are made up that’s just delusional And duh nfl players are faster all they do is run where speed and strength are probably the most important attributes (also I guess catching which your doing with the ball in hand that has little to no impact on how fast your going) whereas in football speed isn’t the most important factor and many different things factor in. NFL players are always going to be faster on average. Speed and strength training are core parts of American Football, and while they’re still important in Football, they aren’t as important as they are in the NFL.
Plus a lot of Americans grow up doing both football and track and field, meaning they play both football and an entire other sport where their only goal is to run as fast as they can.
