      Keep the content coming. I am going to purchase a real Mower soon.I looked at Toro greens masters and Swardman I have a smaller yard than you that may sway me in my decision. Both seem to be great machines. I have 5000 sq. ft. Of grass That I have been leveling and prepping for a cylinder mower.

    If you ever need a heavy duty tool set...
    You can find impact wrenches and sockets at Lowe's....

      Thanks for the tip only one Mr X Only one Mr y. I have an impact setup. I'd be afraid to use it on this mower though. Too easy to over torque and/or break something.

    Where did you get the parts? I just got mine and the belt doesn’t want to engage every time, and it also needs a new pull rope. Thanks!

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  3 года назад +1

      I got them from Jerry Pate in Atlanta. Have the serial number handy so you get the correct parts.

    Hey Ron.. I think the upper pulley is an adjusting one. It should be able to be moved to tighten or loosen tension on the belt thus not requiring the idler pulley to be removed. 40 year auto mechanic not a reel motor guy but it looks similar to car belt systems.

    • @dkbomb
      @dkbomb 4 года назад +8

      The idler pulley is the tension adjustment unit for this mower's traction drive. That spacer or shaft that the pulley sits on is at an offset and not concentric to the pulley which allows you to kind of swivel the idler pulley unit back or forth to adjust the tension on that belt. The way to do it is release the tension of the bolt (out of view) on the inside of the frame to allow the spacer to spin freely, put the belt on, tighten it until it's not hanging freely but not torqued, use a wrench to hold the inside bolt and another on that front bolt to "swing" the idler unit towards the belt until you get your desired 1/4" deflection, then torque them down.
      His method works too since you don't have to adjust for deflection but it looks to be more than 1/4"...probably why it went on easily. Maybe that's why this belt wore out quicker than other? Ron, I would check the other side to see if the deflection is the same. You don't want to have different tensions under both belts that might wear your belts out quicker.

      Great comment dkbomb. Thanks for the detailed response. I'm going to check the tension on the other side. The mower is going in for service here soon so I'll also make sure I have as set of experts look over my work as well as replace the other drive belts so that I'm in great shape for the upcoming season. Thanks again man. Really appreciate it.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +1

      Thanks Chicago Mike. I think the idler pulley is where the tension is adjusted. See dkbomb's comment below. Thanks for chiming in. 👍😎

    Thanks for all the great information! Does cutting up leaves on the lawn help with a better lawn in the spring 🤔? Thanks for your response 👍 😊 🙌💞... I need to replace the deck belt on my ridinglawnmower! Now I just keep putting it back on since it's the end of the season 🤣‼️

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +2

      Heya Crypto. Leaves are organic material so cutting them up technically shouldn't hurt things. Granted it will probably look a bit unsightly because of the difference in color between your lawn and the leaves. How many leaves are we talking? Once the season ends, that'd be a good time to get the mower all fixed up for next season. Mine is going into the shop at the end of the year to get tuned up too. Whatever works right? Thanks for watching the content. Awesome channel name btw. 😎

      @@RonHenry believe it or not when I cut the leaves they absolutely disappear into the lawn! I rent this 2 acres farm, but I love having a nice green front yard! Hopefully it will improve things on a low budget. However, I have lotta mole issues making it very soft! Thanks 😊, again...🙌

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  4 года назад +2

      @@tales_of_the_crypto1583 if they're disappearing when you cut them up, then go for it. Leaves are pretty thin and should break down quickly. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    A) Is that cover metal or plastic?
    B) Whats the six white lines next to the patio?

      Hi Steve. It's metal. Which white lines are your referring to? I'm looking for them in the video and I don't see them. There are a few stains on the patio from when it was pressure washed. Is that what you mean?
