    I have returned to a high protein, moderate fat diet. One that i have followed most of my life. I suddenly have energy and motivation. Suddenly im taking the garage apart and sweeping. Ive tried to go plant based because i love, love, animals. But i feel like a dying statue whenever i do. Ive lost 5 pounds in one week without even tryin, and i just feel good. I will return to meat eating now, and include a prayer for those animals which nurture me.

    Autumn, thank you very much for sharing your recipes with us.
    Recently, I got a Fullstar vegetables chopper as a gift.
    I love this chopper very much.
    Chopping vegetables for to go salad with hard boiled eggs and rotisserie chicken and Dijon mustard olive oil lemon dressing.
    I would recommend this chopper to anyone.
    All the vegetables in the bowl are the same size (I use small grid blade the most) just like the green goddess salad that tastes even more amazing when every bite is packed with flavor.
    Please give this chopper a try and you’ll love eating vegetables more.
    Chopping onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, carrot, zucchini or cabbage for chili or stew would take literally a couple minutes.

    These are great ideas Autumn. For some reason any kind of meat makes me nauseous. I'm a meat lover too😢. We hunt and my husband works for a deer processor during deer season so we get most of our deer meat grounded up into deer burger. I can handle that pretty good so I'll be growing antlers this year😂

    Hi ❤ can diabetics consume beets?

    • @Rigbycat123

      Diabetic here. I eat them but you can’t eat the tinned ones they have added sugar ☹️

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  9 месяцев назад

      Raw beets are pretty low glycemic load, but each person can respond to foods differently. A CGM would help to see individual responses to certain foods, like beets :)

    AAAA-Autumn, have you heard of Xylitol , birch sugar-Zero carb sweetener? I’m using it in mints from Zelle’s as part of a healthy oral/dental regimen and am wondering if having one of these mints will kick me out of ketosis during IF…any ideas on the sweetener Xylitol? Thanks , love all your info , im down 40#s since April, and have an iron intolerance problem ,but love your approach to living healthy!

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! Congrats on your weight loss! I usually don't recommend having mints during a fast because they can tend to stimulate digestion.

    • @lauriecu
      @lauriecu 9 месяцев назад

      @@AutumnBates ,thank you for your quick response to my inquiry, just curious , so since the xylitol mint is only used after eating or just before bed ,I’m wondering if they (or how much )-they would impact ketosis over night.. and or into the next day. I’m really wondering as it is a natural sugar, but is very low carb, should I worry about it..

    Oh geez. Right out the gate with eggs. I discovered two years ago that I don't tolerate eggs anymore 😢😢😭. It breaks my heart because I love eggs. So very sad. I'm not allergic but I don't like the result they cause. Awww poo. I'll keep taking your advice for everything else except your protein powder because it's derived from albumin😢.

    FYI on the 'real' mayo you say to use in the curry egg salad. Almost ALL mayos are made with soybean oil which is toxic to the body. Also most have 'bio-engineered ingredients' in them. Hellman's is one. READ your labels carefully. I have found at Costco a mayo made with avocado oil and it's organic. It's from Primal Kitchen. Or make your own. That way you know what's in your mayo.

    • @rnr5547

    • @cantbeaslave
      @cantbeaslave 9 месяцев назад +1

      The one at Costco is choice food mayo. It's avocado oil and eggs. I don't think they have primal kitchen and it's really expensive.

    • @bf9436
      @bf9436 9 месяцев назад

      @@cantbeaslave Maybe YOUR Costco doesn't have Primal Kitchen mayo, but MINE does. I bought mine at Costco. And it wasn't that expensive. Plus I'd rather be eating food that is good for me, not toxic. Soybean oil, canola oil, cottonseed oil, corn oil, palm oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil are ALL toxic to the body. Research it.

    I like your content but my question is about processed meat. You recommend it a lot but it is a known carcinogen. Deli meat, bacon, bratwurst, etc. are all categorized but the WHO as a group one carcinogen just like cigarettes. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @pennyb377
      @pennyb377 9 месяцев назад

      I cannot speak for Autumn, but bratwurst is a sausage (ground meat with spices/seasonings) not a processed meat like lunch meat.

    • @user-wj6en5vf8l
      @user-wj6en5vf8l 9 месяцев назад

      Sausages are definitely processed and can be carcinogenic

    • @bf9436
      @bf9436 9 месяцев назад

      This is where your detective skills must come in. Boarshead lunch meats DO NOT have nitrites or nitrates or MSG, etc. Go to their website and look that up. Bratwurst: can be found without all the toxins in it. READ THE INGREDIENTS ON THE LABEL. Sprouts has many meat choices that are free of toxins. It can be done; you just need to be more selective.

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  9 месяцев назад +3

      I don't recommend processed meats a lot - I more often recommend whole unprocessed proteins. However, the processing and additives do matter. For example, technically speaking ground beef is considered processed because it's gone through the process of being ground. Same goes with a lot of different types of sausages, which often are just types of ground meats and spices stuffed into a casing. That being said, the research on "processed meats" and cancer is a bit dicey and relies almost entirely on epidemiological research (which by nature, can't prove cause and effect).

    Been tough because I simply cannot source some of the ingredients. No one stocks spag squash, jicama, coconut wraps or even coconut butter. I tried making coconut butter but even coconut shreds are too dry here.
    Drives me nuts paying $33 plus $15 postage for the same LMNT pack your lot get for free. Sigh.
    Moan over. Lol

    • @AutumnBates

      Regular lettuce (romaine or iceberg) can be good alternatives to jicama for wraps! And zucchini is also a good alternative to spaghetti squash.

    Actually the food that you are eating for the entire week has no nutritional benefits . Food cooked and consumed the same day retains all the nutritional benefits.
