On these DC-9's and MD-80's, can the light be turned on before or as the light is extending? I swear Ive seen the light being on as the light was moving to forward facing as I was a teen watching these planes fly over my house to land at a nearby airport.

That would be hard as its a 3 pos switch, off - extend and light on, You have to go trought the extend pos
