I had a wild thought since I'm replaying Origins right now. After the Battle of Ostagar when you're speaking with Flemeth after waking up, you can ask her what an archdemon is. Flemeth responds that "The Chantry states that the Maker cast down the Old Gods of the Tevinter Imperium into prisons beneath the surface." She further explains that the darkspawn taint the Old Gods to create Archdemons (though thanks to the Game Informer article we now know it isn't that simple.) We know that the Elven Gods and the Tevinter Old Gods are one and the same, thanks to Solas' reactions to the Grey Wardens attempting to breach the final prisons, as well as finding out he's attempting to move their prisons in the DAV gameplay reveal. So does that mean that on top of being The Dread Wolf, Solas is also The Maker?
Unless I missed something very important, the Old Gods and the Evanuris are not the same. The Old Gods are the Archdemons, meaning that five of them are already dead (unless Kieran has Urthemiel's soul), while all of the Evanuris are still alive trapped in the Fade (as Solas confirms in Trespasser, saying that he "has plans" for when they are freed). There is also an optional piece of dialogue where Solas says that there is no connection between his people and the Blight. While he is often liberal with the truth, it is important to note that he very rarely outright lies.
I think hes going to be a friend. He knows something and when terrible things are going to happen, he'd rather just fix it before it happens rather than after. He knows theres going to be death and destruction but by the way he was having to relocate the elven gods because their prisons were failing makes me think the veil is too weak to withstand anymore hits to it. Its also said that its the hubris of men this is their own undoing aka using methods that are known to weaken the veil
Solas believes that the end justifies the mean…though I wonder if he never thought that the Elven Mages that he imprisoned wouldn’t convince modern day Elves to fight for them against Solas’ forces. I mean, it would make sense that not all Elves would join Solas and would either join the other Elven deities that they worship, or would join a faction that’s willing to stop them all because there would be so much death and destruction.
This is what i don't get about him one min he is raving my ppl my ppl (elves) and the next min he is like they are not my ppl so Solas pick a lane and stick to it. Either they are your ppl or they are not...
His people are the elves as they used to be. The elves now are not "his people", but he still fights for them and doesn't want to see them suffer unduly. Solas is a classic troubled INFJ, he is passionate about his cause, but ambivalent about the people he is bulldozing to get there. On one hand he frees elven slaves on the other hand he is going to genocide them all.
The elves are his people, but the dalish are not. As he sees it, the dalish worship the very “gods” that enslaved them and voluntarily wear the markings of slaves on their faces, while judging other elves for not taking the same path. Solas is an elf and still claims elves as his people, but does not identify with the way of the Dalish elves. The reason why he so directly critiques the inquisitor (if they’re an elf) is because the elven inquisitor is Dalish.
Whoever came up with Solas definitely wanted James McAvoy to play him either as a voice actor or in live action. The face is uncanny.
That's oddly accurate haha
No way to me he looks EXACTLY like Zachary Quinto. At least in DAI he does. Now he looks like handsome squidward.

This theory is getting more and more plausible by the day

I had a goofy idea regarding that, maybe "Maker" is bastardization of an elven word that would mean "that bastard" or something similar 🤣

In the recent gameplay reveal too, he could have straight up murdered Varric easily but just disarmed him instead. (RIP Bianca)
@@GamingLORE_1 Exactly. Bianca can always be fixed, Varric not so much 😂
