Wow! What a fantastic restoration on this oldie. You do such great work on everything that you restore. I love how you have an eye for detail. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and stay healthy. ♥️
I remember stumbling upon this channel back in 2020 during my remote senior year and it being oddly satisfying to watch on breaks in between classes and when I had no work to do. Glad I found it again!
Absolutely great work. It really is amazing how we have people like yourself that help these awesome retro consoles to survive and keep on going so that we can still enjoy them and share our childhood memories with our children. Huge like 👍💯⭐
I have no idea why that fuse seems to blow so often. I've seen people blow it while repairing other parts of it. It seems to be overly sensitive to voltage changes (IIRC it blows when you don't power off before unplugging?) but it also isn't doing its job properly then, clearly... Awesome restoration.
@@lyrichasmoxie2586 I would assume so, yeah. A lot of repairs you see on RUclips for electronics like this too can be done or even diagnosed by laymen like you and I though with a multimeter though, then the actual replacing of components can get tricky but would require a good (micro)soldering kit.
It must be a later series (1chip?). Every pal SNES that I've encountered firsthand has the RF out. They commonly came with an RF adaptor inside of the package when new. Back in the day, I never used the AV until I first had an N64, and discovered that the N64 cable also fit into the mysterious other socket in the back of my SNES. 🙂
Great work, very high standard in details. One question, wouldnt it be better, after sanding the metal shield, to paint it with something to prevent rust to show up again?
Another fantastic restoration video. Really enjoy watching these so keep them coming Restoration EG. Can I ask.... what is the purple fluid you use when cleaning the plastic?
Do you have any tips for people starting out in console restoration? I’ve fixed a couple gameboys so far and I’m absolutely loving the hobby. I wanna delve deeper but I’m not sure where to start!
Find a different RUclipsr to watch when it comes to this kind of stuff would definitely be my first piece of advice. You want someone who explains things in their videos and actually seems like they know what they’re talking about.
What would you call what you do? Like if I wanted to learn how to repair electronics or game systems like you would I take electronical engineering rn in college?
Good Job, well done. If only my SNES would still work :-( I don't get it, what's wrong with mine. Everything is ''reversed or mirrored'' Up is down, down is up, left is right, right is left, a is b, b is a and so on. Only Selct and Start are working correct. And it is no Controller related Problem.

Videos like this have made me buy an old "for parts/not working" snes. For $20 i figure I can't lose, even if i don't get it working.

I know this is a random question but what type of profession is this? Is it electronical engineering?

Adoro essas restaurações, pra mim é relaxante
17:03 you should never blow into the carts, it puts moisture on the contacts and starts the process of corrosion.
but otherwise it's not working
@@RS_N5 if your cart isn’t working try cleaning the contacts with a q tip and isopropyl alcohol. Much better than blowing into it.
so touching, amazing restoration!
