I didn't go into the production you showed, but I just took some stalks and stuck them in the wet ground and most of the leafing parts did not even welt but kept on growing. I don't want to do too much to propagate as I don't have the time. I took the stalks from wild plants already growing on the back of my land. Thanks for the video and the sowing lesson. It was great.

I do large ones all the time with greater success than really thin ones. I never cut the nodes off

Enjoyed your video but please may I ask, I live in Southern Michigan, I don't understand why you cannot try rooting them before they go dormant! That way if you were to root them today say June 24, theoretically couldn't they be well rooted here before winter and planted outside!

  • @justmiahere9412

Can you please make a video of how to cut them? So we can plant them.

My first time doing elderberry cuttings. If you have done fig cuttings, are elderberries more successful? Also it looks like elderberry young roots are not as finicky as young fig roots. I'm 7b in Delaware. 2 elderberries in the ground and want to increase that. In ground have swollen nodes but no leaves yet. Hope it's not too late to take cuttings.

I ordered elderberry cuttings and the company said to soak in water. It has been almost 3 months and still nothing :( If I decide to waste anymore money, I am going to have to try this way.

  • @bosquebear1

Great info... i have 10 cuttings coming in the mail. I will try your method. Do you think they would root in the pro mix as well as your mix? Just curious why you make a different mix than you uppot into.

  • @sharktank00

Do you place them under lights in the house?

  • @michaelvillarreal8838
