  • A documentary exploring Sydney's lost underground tunnels, including the Wynyard tram tunnel, the old Sydney County Council electrical tunnel under Sydney Harbour, the St James stub tunnels and the Tank Stream.
Recorded off ATN-7 Sydney on 6 March 1993. Includes the ending to the news, and original adverts. I believe the last minute or two has been chopped off (it was overwritten by an episode of Backchat!).

This was truly brilliant to watch! I really like how the ads were left in, a trip to another time!

Yep. Back to when ads were just ads. Not some agenda pushing proganda.

Used to love watching this on the big old analogue tv in the lounge room as a kid, this brings nostalgic memories back. :)

We had parties down there in the 1970 under Hyde park till cops stopped it lol the cave clan great mob. Redfern to Darling Harbour. It old and magic.or Moore Park to Hyde Park pity they cut it with a car tunnel. Middle heads full of tunnels same north and South or the Pyrmont to New Town electricity tunnel. The most modern abondon tunnel is Epping to Chatswood viaaquarie uni. Large sections abandons in 2019.

I think you'd get squashed by a Metro train trying to explore the "abandoned" ECRL lol

in the early 90's there were small raves down there too underneath Wynard, DJ and speakers off a gene, the sound could only go so loud before it hurt your ears, went on for a few years until the STA boarded up the entry with thick steel plates.

Holy crap, I recognize some of these places from the 2011 movie "The Tunnel". It makes sense because it's canonically the exact same location in the film but it's still awesome to see it some ~27 years earlier.

St James station tunnels and the old bunkers at Bondi North. Been in both, very cool to see how they were used in the movie.
(The names of the hobos and the dates they disappeared were just general graffiti they found in them.)
