Health, sickness, wealth, poverty, good times, bad times every single aspect has been written and ordained by Allah in a perfect system. It's just that we as humans see a small part of that massive system and it's too much for us too really understand. I too have had my share of addictions and self destructive behaviors. There's something intrinsically deeper in what he said. " You can buy any video game but you can't buy time " or you can as many as you want, but the time to enjoy them all is unfeasible. He can't give 100% of himself to do the conditioning and training and fighting or even to go through the mental part of fighting, and at the same time give 100% of his time to those around him especially those he's helping. Those that can't relate wouldn't know because it takes stepping back and seeing things from another's point of view and perspective sometimes to understand.
