While I love Stairway To Heaven as one of the greatest songs ever written, I don't believe it is even close to being my favorite. However, every year, poll after poll, this song is elected to be the number one rock and roll song of all time. I'm not at all surprised you like this song. Very dynamic.
You wouldn’t be wrong about the best song you ever heard. It’s probably the best song ever recorded. Great reaction. For you look up Paul Kossoff from the band called “Free” you look like him no offense but that’s a cool thing. Not a bad band at all to do a reaction from too. You can start with “all right now” just a suggestion.
Ahhh... the look in their eyes , when they finally realize, their grandparents music was better than their own. Welcome to higher education music. Welcome to the world of my youth.
I'm 82 years young this year, and I saw Led Zep play Perth early 70s. I'm still managing to rock a bit, mainly in my rocking chair. Love and peace from Perth Australia 😎🖐🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶💕
@@___Guilherme___ thanks for the post Guilherme, yes I've lived through the greatest music ever made, never to be repeated. I'm now in my 83rd year I wonder now at how much TIME (that's a nod to Pink Floyd) I've got, was diagnosed with lung cancer about 3months ago, so I guess my listening days are now running out, once again thanks from Perth Australia. 👋🎵🎶🎵🦘
Robert Plant on vocals...Jimmy Page on guitar(electeic and accousti)..John Paul Jones on bass and electric piano...John Bonham on drums...all 4 are legendary musicians and in a LEGENDARY BAND
John Paul on.. well everything else no one is playing because he can pick up and play anything. I agree, this band was hand picked for perfection in all the roles.
The first album is the best order of song on any album on the planet. The first song makes you want the next , on and on. 75 and still loving them. Saw them in England in 69 at klooks kleek.
At 72 I'm still amysed as I watch another generation "find" the magic of Led Zeppelin that I grew up with. They were great as individual artists, but together they created true musical magic. Some suggestions would be : Out on the Tiles, Tangerine, and Gallows Pole. Enjoy your journey my friend and thanks for your reaction.
As I was standing waiting for the bus for school in Epsom, Surrey, England back in the early 60's, Jimmy (Page) playing lead guitar here used to walk past me going to his school. He always had a guitar on his back. All the kids knew, if you wanted to learn the guitar in Epsom, you went to Jimmy.
My uncle turned me onto Led Zeppelin at age 5 and I’m 54 now still listening to Led Zeppelin and still loving it! My uncle passed away in 2003 and we played Stairway to Heaven and the Rain Song at his funeral. I turned my son onto to Led Zeppelin at 5 and he is 13 now and plays drums just like I did and my uncle sang and played guitar so music is in our blood. Thank-You Led Zeppelin for literally being the soundtrack to our lives!
Welcome to the greatest band to ever grace the stage. In 1968 The stars where aligned when these 4 master musicians came together to become Led Zeppelin. Jimmy Page the Guitarist and producer. He was the best session guitar player in the UK Jimmy had a vision to start up a new band. His creativity from him from playing his guitar with a violin bow, using a Theramin, making his own affects pedals. having a custom double neck guitar built for him by Gibson. They would do things that no other band dare do. Then by infusing different styles of music driven by a heavy thunderous beat. They Revolutionized Rock and Roll. He needed the right minded equally talented musicians for this to happen. Robert Plant a 18 year old vocalist was referred to him..Robert had what Jimmy was looking for. That soulful bluesy style who sang with heart and emotion but he could also scream like banshee.Robert recommended his friend John Bonham he was a thunderous drummer that hit the drums harder than any other drummer has. But he also he had the smooth quiet backing beat when needed. and his fills and triplets with a single bass drum was unlike any other. Then John Paul Jones (Bassest and keyboard) a true master mind of his own he had mastered many instruments while also being a sessions musician that Jimmy had often worked with. He herd about Jimmy's band and said he would give up plans he had and join in. From their first practice together Jimmy said there was this connection between all the members. Led Zeppelin was formed. They changed the way music was composed. They changed how music was Performed. And they changed the world with their first record. There are many real good bands out there but everyone of them were inspired in some way by what Zeppelin did. Imitation and copying something that has been done before is easy. Having the vision to introduce change is genius. There are no bad Led Zeppelin songs only timeless masterpieces.every song is different some bluesy some folk some rock some reggae, country, funk. They play it all with a added thunderous unique style that was unique to Led Zeppelin
First time I heard this I was in the back seat of a car packed with friends headed home from two hours of listening to Andre Segovia in Houston at Jones Hall. We were stunned into silence. What a night. From one mountain top to another. I do think young people may not understand the social context. This wasn't just about a rich women, it was an indictment of our generation and materialism. Too bad we didn't listen.
40 years ago I was in my best friend's room and he handed me some headphones and said, 'you have to hear this'. He watched me as I just sat and listened to it all the way through. My reaction was just like yours - speechless. I will never forget that day my whole life.
Masterpiece - WELL said, coolest young dude! You GET IT. I mean, Page's rock solo is innovative and amazing, but the acoustic build-up to it in the beginning with the acoustic guitar and flute ... and then Plant's stratospheric vocals. Bonham's drumming sets the pace, and John Paul Jones on bass, mandolin, you name it. Best ever ... you're right, kid! I just wish you could have seen Plant, Page et al in their heyday.
I totally agree that Stairway To Heaven is the greatest. I almost wish that I could totally forget the song so that I could rediscover it all over again. I seriously believe that the stars and planets all aligned in some sort of magical way and beamed majestic creativity to musicians during the early 1970s. This short period of time is truly the renaissance of music.
Thank you for your appreciation. Boomer, 67 female.loved your passion for the masterpiece ♥️. Was lucky enough to have my high school boyfriend, learn to play this song and play it for me. Boomers had such great music, passion for music, art, and we knew how blessed we were for it The way I would describe forte, balls out, take no prisoners These guys left it all on the floor. Wayne's World, we aren't worthy!
I've always felt it was Stairway to Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody and Nights in White Satin as the three best rock songs. All three go outside just having basic rock elements in them. They all made these extraordinary timeless songs.
jimmy page (also of yardbird fame) is often considered one of the top 3 guitarists of all time, john bonham, one of the most influential drummers in musical history. robert plant was the lead singer and frontman, and bassist and keyboardist john paul jones rounded out the group. jimmy page wrote most of the music and robert plant most of their lyrics. they were one of the best... the group disbanded following bonham's death in 1980, feeling that they would not be 'led zeppelin' without him
It is spiritual...2 paths to choose, piper to sway you, good vs evil, to be a rock (stand tall) and not a roll (go with the flow) trees will then echo with laughter (angels) celebrating your new awareness...choose wisely, God be with you.
I remember the first time I heard it on the radio..in my friends kitchen..50 years ago..I was all by my self..when the guitar solo ..first note..gave me goose bumps..the rest was .. more and more. Incredible emotion...yes a ❤️ heart felt master piece....
"Is this the best song ever made!!!!!" It very well could be young man! It's like asking the question, who is the most beautiful woman in the world. Plenty of candidates, but certainly all of them are spectacular!
Please do more Pink Floyd and Zeppelin. Watching your amazement when you hear a Floyd tune brings me back to my first listen to these guys. Now you must listen to Stairway to Heaven at Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin with Heart. If you aren't familiar with Heart, listen to Barracuda first
At the Kennedy Centre Honours for Led Zeppelin, Heart performed this song in front on the surviving members of the band. Jon Bonham’s son played the drums. Even if for just your own pleasure, you’ll want to watch that video.
Didn’t realize you don’t make money on the vids. I’m in an angry mood but this helped. It’s worth the $5. I’m a huge Floyd fan but let’s be honest, Stairway is in a world it’s own. It’s risky, winding, and brilliant. And it’s a song that’s better live (as you know).
Stairway to heaven was the song I had my first slow dance with a girl. 1975, Jefferson Jr. High. Leslie was the girl. I was so grateful that she said yes. I still smile everytime I hear this song. The bonus was that it was a slow and fast dance with only one ask:)
A classic. I was a teen of the 70's. First time I heard Led Zepplin I was hooked. I am now a well seasoned teen of 64, and I love this so g more than ever.....Oh the memories!!!
Dude, this song in the early 2000s I remember on the radio. They did like a 64 bracket like NCAA basketball. And every year, Stairway to heaven #1 greatest rock song of all time! This song is the #1 rock song of all time!!! It is to me. It’s cool you picked up how it starts slow, and picks up speed, and by the end it’s rocking badass! Man, greatest drummer of all time! These guys are LEGENDARY!
James Patrick Page + Robert Antony Plant + John Richard Baldwin + John Henry Bonham, the juggernaut of Valhalla, best band EVER. Greetings from Danmark 🤜🏻🇩🇰🤛
You look like I felt the first time I heard it when I was 12. We played it on a loop on my friends dads real to real tape recorder that night , probably 3 hours
I actually feel a little sorry for you friend, you happened upon this when having to do a reaction video, which must evince a degree of self - consciousness, I was lucky at hearing it in a mates house when everyone was drunk. Its just an experience. Keep going and enjoy, you already have good taste.
thanks man. enjoying that along with you is the reason why I watch these reaction videos because it's like hearing it for the first time watching you react to it. you got a good soul brother. cheers
Yes, that is a recorder being played at the beginning... actually 3 recorders... John Paul Jones plays bass recorder to begin, then overdubbed tenor and soprano recorders... he also plays bass guitar and electric piano on the studio recording. When Zep performed live he covered the recorder sound with a mellotron while adding piano and playing bass lines with foot pedals. Basically the guy played seven different instruments for one damn song... and all were magnificent.
You should watch Zeppelin performing 'Since I've Been Loving You' live at Madison Square Garden, in 1973. It's a legendary performance of an incredible song! It's a must see/hear. Zeppelin were truly epic live. They didn't go in for big flashy shows, or gimmicks. They didn't need to. They had genius level musicianship and just oozed charisma. They were truly mesmerising live! :)
It was voted number 1 on FM Radio for years. I like this better than their live version, as the Studio Version really brings everything out and has a very echanting mood.
led zeppelin, deep purple and pink floyd. three of the greatest bands ever and they were around at pretty much the same time. it's highly unlikely there will ever be another time like it
Don't forget Emerson lake and Palmer and Electric light Orchestra and Creedence Clearwater Revival.... but my top group to this day still is Led zeppelin. You will be blown away. Pink Floyd is one of many top groups. Late 60s and all 70s was the filet mignon of music. Not all rock either. Blue grass.country. ballads etc. The songwriting singing and playing of instruments by this crop of young talent was mind numbing. I spent so much time in my room listening to records. As a 62 year old.there is still more to explore I hadn't back then.. I know others who lived it will agree. Enjoy!!thanks for switching off Pink floyd for a min. This is one of the more mellow songs of theirs.
The Beatles, The Doors, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd (Started in 1965), The Kinks, The Yardbirds... The 60s had more overall talent than the 70s. Nothing against the 70s, they were great.
With Led Zeppelin you should really start with album 1, song 1 and work your forward! There really aren't any disappointing songs from any of their albums! Also do Zeppelin live in MSG 1973 ! It will blow your mind!
I been listening to this song since is was a kid in the 70's, and it gives me goosebumps to see a new generation appreciate it like we did back in the day !
Robert Plant the original rock god , Jimmy Page one of the greatest guitarists ever , John Bonham the greatest rock drummer in my opinion and John Paul Jones one of the greatest bass players . Look up the legendary off stage excesses , they took things to a whole new level. When Zeppelin reformed for a one off concert in 2007 in London , 20 million people registered for the available 20,000 tickets. They have sold approx 300 million albums . I grew up through the 60s and 70s with all these amazing bands and artists . It's great to see you starting that journey of discovery. There is so much to discover which will blow your mind and give you the pleasure of passing the torch to future generations.
I was listening to this and other Zeppelin songs for over 52 years. This song was released in 1971 three years after I got back from Vietnam. Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Bonham on drums, and John Paul Jones on bass. If this was released today it would be a monster hit. I love to hear young folks enjoy it too.
I got out of the service in 70' and lo and behold Zep was in my town that year. All my friends were there and it was tremendous. But at that time there were many great bands and we took them a little bit for granted.I enjoy seeing young people discover how amazing these guy's really were
@@billhiggins1882With respect , what was that like .68, vol. 1.came out .In England that year , voting age was dropped from 21 to 18.I remember on the news about Vietnam war .Respect.

The 70's bro.
Cannot be touched.
The solid gold decade.
Maybe in past life time for me..!
The 80s were pretty awesome too, in my opinion.
Unless you lived in Ireland 💀
Amen!
Totally agree. The greatest decade in music!
Ahhh... the look in their eyes , when they finally realize, their grandparents music was better than their own. Welcome to higher education music. Welcome to the world of my youth.
Amen to that!
There ARE great rock bands out there today. It’s just that today’s music industry doesn’t elevate them to the status that bands like Zepplin achieved.
How lucky were we? Plus concert tickets were like $18.😂😂 saw Zeppelin 5 times. My boyfriend was a Zeppelin fanatic. Rock on. ✌🌻🌻
"Parents"
Amen my kids listened to this stuff all their lives and they agree

John Bonham on drums, but he passed some time ago. His son played with the band for a while, but, like me, these guys are getting old
They're not called Gods of Rock for nothin!

Same.
in the 70' s Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Deep Purple Genesis Yes gave their best.....the golden era of rock
The best Rock N' Roll Band ever!!!
Ditto. We only know now how good we had it back then.
The Who and Deep Purple have no business being in the same sentence with Led Zepplin, The Stones and Pink Floyd

Life is divided into two parts, one before and one after having heard this song for the first time.

Thank you for respecting music+ not interrupting all the time! It's a masterpiece that all of us in 60s got to hear. How lucky were we🎉❤😮
They're, quite simply, the greatest rock and roll band ever. Period. Listen to everything you can find.
The music from my youth. So good. Your face was priceless. Now you know. (We had the best cars, too.)
Great to see a intelligent young man out there.
Real bands and real musicians. Time can’t touch this
There are so many great rock songs. This song....this song...stands alone. The greatest rock song ever. 🤘🔥

These bands of the 70’s are the mozarts, Bach, Chopin, etc …are the next few generations of great music!! Classical!!
you don't need to describe this song......the song describes itself perfecly
Just goes to show you, a great song will always be a great song.
This song was like our official tract of a great time in my youth.
Your face told the story of what you thought about this. Welcome to some of the best rock and roll of all time. Great reaction my friend.
With each step up, the music literally builds a "Stairway to Heaven".
I was a senior in High School and a teenager when this came out.
now ya know why old people think most modern music is lacking.
I totally agree that Stairway To Heaven is the greatest. I almost wish that I could totally forget the song so that I could rediscover it all over again. I seriously believe that the stars and planets all aligned in some sort of magical way and beamed majestic creativity to musicians during the early 1970s. I think you’ll listen more than 10x’s. You’ll listen to it for the rest of your life! 😍
Your evaluation is spot on! "Stairway to Heaven" was voted the best rock song OVER THE 30 YEARS!
This, Bohemian Rhapsody and Hotel California are, IMO, the three best rock songs every written and performed. Hands down.
And “Lucky Man”, by Emerson, Lake and Palmer - another epic with real scope and orchestral ambition.
It’s fair to include Pink Floyd in this group, almost any song off Dark Side of the Moon
No doubt.
I've always felt it was Stairway to Heaven, Bohemian Rhapsody and Nights in White Satin as the three best rock songs. All three go outside just having basic rock elements in them. They all made these extraordinary timeless songs.
He has the same hair as Robert Plant 😁

You can’t really use words to describe this song. This song is an experience. And, you feel it every time you hear it!
The best of UK bands at a time when there were many!

Glad to see the youth enjoying a classic!
Welcome you have just been Zepped!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What gets me about this song is that it progresses from the slow quiet acoustic guitar and flutes to that scorched-earth ending SEAMLESSLY.
Probably the best reaction I’ve ever seen! Great job!
Hey dude, now you know how i felt when i heard LZ in 1974!!Am 82 now and still my favourite band!
All my life Bonham has been my favorite drummer.
Everyone remembers the time and place when they 1st heard STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN!
You now know why it was voted the number 1 rock songs of all time.
I remember the first time I heard it on the radio..in my friends kitchen..50 years ago..I was all by my self..when the guitar solo ..first note..gave me goose bumps..the rest was .. more and more.

I love when you said Wow!!!
Excellent reaction. Lost in Vegas sure didnt get it but you sure did. Wise young college student!
As an added bonus, you've got Robert Plants hair!!
I thought the same thing!

Yes this is the best song ever made. It never gets old.....generation after generation.
I agree, Stairway to Heaven is my favorite! Zeppelin is my favorite band! The theme of my high school Sr pro in 1979 was Stairway To Heaven
For those of us of a certain age, when you heard this song it meant the school dance was over.
this is the Mighty LED ZEPPELIN..... about 25 orher songs that will blow your mind !
You need to watch and hear the live version of Madison Square Garden 1973 !!!
Growing up in the 60's and 70's was such a wonderful time musically. It gives me so much joy to see you enjoying it.

A classic. I was a teen of the 70's. First time I heard Led Zepplin I was hooked. I am now a well seasoned teen of 64, and I love this so g more than ever.....Oh the memories!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes! I was just about to suggest it. This song, this performance is my drug and I am taking it daily. Even my dogs love it.
I discovered Led Zeppelin when I was 16 in 1976 after going to the movie "The Song Remains the Same".
What was that movie about? I never heard of it. Heard the song before but not the movie.
@@plumeria66 it's Led Zeppelin in concert.
@@rickt1154 Got it.
It's refreshing to see young people fall in love with songs that us boomers/genXers have always loved.
Stairway is clearly the rock masterpiece of all time. Zep was a stunning band.
Grew up on Zepplin , best band ever , listen also to whole lot of love. I still listen.
It was voted number 1 on FM Radio for years. I like this better than their live version, as the Studio Version really brings everything out and has a very echanting mood.
I agree! This Kashmir and All of my Love favorite LZ songs
led zeppelin, deep purple and pink floyd. three of the greatest bands ever and they were around at pretty much the same time. it's highly unlikely there will ever be another time like it
Don't forget Emerson lake and Palmer and Electric light Orchestra and Creedence Clearwater Revival.... but my top group to this day still is Led zeppelin.
All of the aforementioned and King Crimson ❤️❤️❤️
And King Crimson ❤️
And you forgot Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant to name but a few others!
The most requested rock song in FM radio history.
With Led Zeppelin you should really start with album 1, song 1 and work your forward! There really aren't any disappointing songs from any of their albums! Also do Zeppelin live in MSG 1973 ! It will blow your mind!
Zep is my favorite band, and has been since '80. But they definitely have some clunkers in their 90-track catalogue.
There is ONE rock song that gives Stairway a run for it's money. That's 'Whole Lotta Love' by an obscure band that called themselves....Led Zeppelin.😅
So fun to watch this. Robert plant is the best rock singer of all time. And Jimmy page...unreal.
I been listening to this song since is was a kid in the 70's, and it gives me goosebumps to see a new generation appreciate it like we did back in the day !
Oh hun, take our Gen X hand. We’ll guide you through the best fucking music EVER made.
I'm 75 and dude now we Boomers had a joint to accompany lol but you'll get high from the instrumentals and talent
All the best bands come out of the UK
I was listening to this and other Zeppelin songs for over 52 years. This song was released in 1971 three years after I got back from Vietnam. Robert Plant on vocals, Jimmy Page on guitar, John Bonham on drums, and John Paul Jones on bass. If this was released today it would be a monster hit. I love to hear young folks enjoy it too.
I got out of the service in 70' and lo and behold Zep was in my town that year. All my friends were there and it was tremendous. But at that time there were many great bands and we took them a little bit for granted.I enjoy seeing young people discover how amazing these guy's really were
Greatest band of all time. Listen to everything by them.
Always start with the 1st album ❤❤❤
Yes, I agree. You should do more Led Zeppelin.
More than 50 years after, Stairway to Heaven still creates an impact! LED ZEPPELIN will always be the best band for me❤
First time listener, carry on and prepare to have your mind blown. Best band ever, period ☘
It's encouraging to see you discover this being one-third my age. I was a kid when this came out. We grew up with this.
I was in nam in 68
@@billhiggins1882With respect , what was that like .68, vol. 1.came out .In England that year , voting age was dropped from 21 to 18.I remember on the news about Vietnam war .Respect.
