This dominant win over Dallas, on top of the poor play against Cleveland last week, is the biggest slap in the face I have felt being a Washington fan in a long time. We were inches away from the playoffs, and to go out like this, even with a win...this will bug me until September.

he wasnt fast, he wasnt quick, his throws werent accurate. he had one nice deep ball and a lot of looking out of his depth. the fact that the cowboys were TRYING to be the worst team on the field got the Redskins the win, not Howell

Not a Commanders fan, but I watched a lot of Howell when I was studying other college QBs the past few years and to me I saw a Brett Favre type arm and style. He doesnt have good footwork, but is able to throw bullets without having his feet set, much like Favre did. Not sure he'll ever be at that level, but give this kid a chance next season, that arm has plenty of horsepower in it, trust me

As a cowboy fan since the 70s, ‘Middle of the Pack’ Dak is giving him way too much credit based upon today’s performance. If the Cowboys lose to the lowly Buccaneers next weekend, JJ needs to use their number one draft pick to select Dak’s replacement. Also as Shannon says, “we have a seven year sample size on Dak’s performance” and nothing should lead anyone, other than possibly the delusional Skip Bayless, to believe that Dak is anything other than the most overhyped, overrated, and overpaid player in the NFL.
@@SignalCorps1 at least his contract is up in two years I believe. Then you can move on from Dak. Arizona is stuck with Kylar until 2027 and Denver is stuck with Russ until 2029. Cold comfort but maybe something to look forward to.

He actually played really good. He only had one pick one sack. He also had one quarterback touchdown him self so far he has a OK record, but let’s see how he plays in the future. I’m going to say something that I’ve been saying since before football started this year when I heard that Sam Howell was a new rookie quarterback, I took a quick look at him and I said they should’ve put him in from the very beginning just to test him out and they didn’t and now they put him when they had no chance to make it to the playoffs. Maybe they should’ve put him when we lost twice against the Giants. To be honest, I saw something great in him I saw potential.
@@dejesus7772as someone who was admittedly a little more skeptical of howell, i mostly agree. there’s a lot of potential in him, considering he threw a td _in his first career passing play as a starter_ and ran for another. i do have a few small concerns that i hope get addressed with time (a tendency to take sacks instead of throwing the ball away, not to mention throwing a pick early in the game), but for the most part he looks like franchise material. if we have ANY sense at all he’ll start at least a few games next season - hopefully by that point we’ll have an oline worth a damn and a coaching staff that makes decent play calls! 🤷🏼♂️ lol

I just wanna take a moment to thank the NFC east for the passion, for being a division with 3 great teams that were just fire this season, commanders are out but damn they almost made it, the eagles were a huge surprise and maybe on their way to the super bow, the giants are going places with that coach they have……. Eagles, commanders, giants thank you for making the NFC east the NFC beast. This division will always be remembered because of those 3 teams.

Strong 💪🏾 arm and accurate pass placement … If this kid masters the NFL pass progression (1st ,2nd and 3rd option)and process and read the defense schemes at a pro level with the right offensive coordinator this guy will be a pro bowler in two years with Washington or somewhere else… trust me … the intangibles are there … and don’t forget Dallas has a good defense with playmakers on paper and in live action, so great test for the young kid Howell (B+) … he will be competing for the QB1 in Washington in training camp let’s hope Scott Turner isn’t the OC next season

Man if the commanders could find a QB they’ll be solid , Howell deserves a chance next year. Their defense has all the pieces to be really good, & that front 4 is CRAZY when healthy. Allen , Payne , Sweat and Young is a nightmare, coming from a giants fan.

Been a cowboy fan for more years than I care to remember. This team has got to be the most overrated team in the NFL they have digressed instead of getting better headed into the playoffs. The three running backs today had 48 yd rushing, they let a third string quarterback beat them. The coaching staff just cannot get this team prepared to play with any consistency. I would not be surprised at all if Tampa Bay beats them next week

Eagles fan......love seeing the cowboys lose eventhough it didnt change anything, seeding-wise. We can relate to the Commanders and how tough they are. Once they get their qb nailed down (and this guy looked good tonight) they are gonna be a force. They gave us our first loss and had me throwing stuff all around my living room. So, in a way, i can relate to this game and that the Commanders are on their way.
Who was the starting QB for the commanders when they beat the eagles at Philly? I'll give you a clue. He was the guy that turned around the commanders season. He had a QBR 114 against the best defense in the league 49ers and is by far the best commanders QB since cousins.

I’m a Cowboys fan since 1977 and I’m expecting 1 & Done in the Playoffs. TBVH, I wish the Cowboys would look to trade Prescott during the off-season. His contract only makes it more difficult to make a run after this year. If they can not do it this year, I don’t expect they ever will with him at the helm.

Washington Commanders clutch the 8-8-1 finish to become the 1st team to finish at .500 in a 17 game regular season, something we may not see again for over a decade. Absolute Perfection.
Also this means the NFC East has gone from all 4 members finishing with losing records to all 4 teams finishing with non-losing records in 2 seasons. Quite the division turnaround.
yeah, as a washington fan our record is something to be proud of even if we didn’t make the playoffs. it shows we have potential to be a serious force (once we adjust a few things, of course). and obviously congrats to the rest of the nfc as well, let’s hope they do well 👍🏻

And people wanted Wentz vs the browns Sam Howell showed he would've done better and kept us in the playoffs.

Super happy for Howell and the commanders ending the season on a positive note. I feel better about going into next year with two potential starting QBs and a WR core that played really well last night. Gotta sure up the O line and the place kicking situation though…

Not a very good season but I’m sure Washington fans are hyped rn. Besides that one red zone int (rookies are bound to make mistakes) Sam played lights out at QB, he’s definitely a dual threat. Snyder is likely gone as the owner, and hopefully they fire Scott turner, he’s terrible. They have the ability to be very good if howell pans out and they fix a few positions.
Part of me is exited for the POTENTIAL that this team has, but if we keep Scott turner and trade for another old ass veteran QB scrub for the 3rd year in a row I think I'll off myself because NO amount of talent on the team is ever going to compensate for that.

That interception was not Dak's fault. The center hiked the ball too high so Dak's vision was forced upwards and he was temporarily blinded by the stadium's extremely bright lights which caused vision impairment leading to that interception.
Now that was funny!

Same here. I’ve been a Cowboys fan since the 70s and there is just no way they will ever win a Super Bowl as long as helm. He is easily the most overhyped, overrated, and overpaid player in the NFL. JJ needs to draft Dak replacement in the upcoming draft, fire McCarthy and promote Dan Quinn to HC.
