Hepatitis- I'm in healthcare- hepat means liver and itis means inflammation. Is hepatitis inflammation of the liver?? How would that happen from an open leg wound?? I'm confused?
@@Hamilton_and_more3274 Its a blood-transmitted virus. It is an inflammation of the liver technically but it can also cause liver disease, and it's caused by a viral infection.
To me, this is easily one of Mark's most memorable playthroughs. The atmosphere this game offers is unparalleled.

They're part of the Beautiful Persons Detective Precinct, or BPDP. This was a municipal experiment back in the 50s to test the hypothesis that while beautiful people don't necessarily perform better as detectives, they do wind up in gore-horror hospitals more frequently.

You know what a horror game needs to do?
Make the mental hospital the safest place for a change, rather than the setting of the horror.
That would be really interesting. Like, the monsters are all outside the hospital, but the doctors inside are helping keep them away from everyone inside.
Tanner Bates and the staff are there to help you level up skill sets and heal while you return to battle forces of darkness outside the mental hospital
And the mental patients each become likeable friends. Like if you help them by doing missions (you could add some humor by making the missions something that make absolutely no sense to a sane person, but it makes perfect sense to the patient), they'll give you helpful items. Like, one patient could be convinced that vacuum cleaners are planning a resistance, and his missions require you to do funny things involving vacuum cleaners, like assassinating the vacuum cleaner chief, but in reality you just have to unplug it.
Tanner Bates A horror game that has no horror in it but just leaves you on the edge of your seat expecting something for the whole game, but never actually scares you.

You feel something’s not right while you walk down a long and empty hallway my mind is sometimes right and sometimes wrong I love the evil within because it’s super dark and creepy things scaring the crap out of you boss battles using your instincts to use if your surrounded like shoot land mines there’s so much stuff you can do

I know how you feel. Mark's videos made me laugh when I went through a tough time, not just his but they really did help, especially knowing Mark also struggled a lot. It's nice to see other people take their time to thank him. And when he talked about his experiences at different Cons it made me happy hearing how many people stopped to thank him for what he does,

Okay, so we start off with a detective, see an assassin with teleporting powers, pull a knife from a corpse, fail to outrun a guy with a heavy chainsaw, have a fun time sliding down a pool of blood, wade through the sewers, hide from a maniac that slashes everything in the room except for the hiding spot, sneak out of the maniac's house, outrun the fast chainsaw guy with a severely wounded leg, leap into an elevator, turn the game into an action movie, and then we end up in a hospital with a Silent Hill monster at the foot of the bed.
...MIND = BLOWN.

Weavile Force it's about a detective trying to solve a case, but ends up becoming a victim in what you're seeing. The game is, personally, a favorite of mine, flaws and all! Only thing I wish they improved on was the stealth mechanic or the amount of ammo given. Seriously, I tried to do it on normal at first, and I got NO ammo ever. I had to bump down to easy!

Rewatching this in 2021 is interesting. No wonder Mark used to lose his voice all the time. He spoke in announcer voice all the time! I'm so glad that he just speaks in his normal voice now. Of course better audio equipment allows him to. But I still love his play through of this game and how he would cal Joseph JoJo.

I feel the main problem in this game is not all the crazy chainsaw wielding serial Killers...but the fact that after the main character slid down the blood slip-n'-slide of death he falls into i pool of blood and guts...his leg would be soooooo unbelievably infected, almost instantly he'd lose his ability to walk...in both legs...and his leg would have to be amputated...and if it wasn't...he'd die...thats the worst part about this situation...
But the fact that's it's just manifestations of ruviks mind wouldn't allow real biological aspects to apply would it not?
And the elevator shut immediately after he got on which put him into safety from that chainsaw guy. Usually elevators gradually close not slam shut

Rewatching this annually. The Evil Within series of Mark is definitely one of my most memorable series of Mark has ever done. Definitely my favourite series of Mark. Nostalgic. A phenomenal game.

I just love coming back to that playthrough. It's still so enjoyable after so many years.
I see so many people complaining about this game in the comments. But really, what really really bothers me, is that the atmosphere is gone. It's not scary you say--well because Mark won't stop talking.

No, but really think about it. If you were alone, playing this at night, you wouldn't question the logic of this game. You'd be freaked the hell out. And I mean ALONE, alone. In your room. Lights off, no subscribers to talk to. Let's Players make games less scary because it feels like you have someone with you the entire time. If this was a quiet Let's Play like some I've seen around, it'd be scary as hell, because there is no commentary.
If you want to be entertained, watch a Let's Play with Mark, Pewds, Yami, Jack, etc. But if you wanna be scared, watch an indie Let's Player who doesn't give commentary at all. It'd be like watching a really scary movie.
I'm not hating. I LOVE Mark. But the feedback on just how NOT scary this game is, is just ridiculous.

I think Kidman wasn’t left on the door because she is a female, she was left there because she’s only a Junior Detective, I think Joseph has a higher rank so Castellanos took with him inside the most experienced of the two
As a child of two people in the medical field, I will have to say this… That man has to have so many diseases by now, because there is no way that he didn’t get diseases from laying in the pot filled with blood, and if he somehow didn’t get any blood transmissible diseases, or an STD, without doing anything, that would normally warrant one, he got one in the sewers because his leg got chainsawed… the protagonist has have some type of disease by the end of this game because there is no way he did not get out of it without that (we already know right off the bat he’s not getting out of it unscathed.

Oh god this is so unrealistic. If the protagonist was cut by the chainsaw at the beginning and then almost immediately fell into a pool of blood (literally), there'd be so many pathogens in it that pool, he'd die within minutes from septicemia if not hours. Good luck trying to get through *that* game with that time limit, keeping in mind you'd probably be comatose for the last 2 hours of your life!
Mark may be right, I think the protagonist can survive such horrendous wounds because this may be all in his mind.
Majority of horror games are unrealistic. So this is normal.
this game is based around how that Hidden guy ( i like that name ) is creating this nightmare universe for the Detective. What would be the point in killing off your plaything straight away? I would keep him alive for a long time

From the start the game in and of itself is not based on realistic situations/circumstances, which is why they are entertaining to those who like most games, they are an escape from the real world. Though yes, in a real world situation, if you've been cut by a chainsaw that deep it would be bad to say the least, yet you wouldn't have to worry about dying from infection, blood loss would get you first.
You know, I was thinking the same thing whilst watching the new Tomb Raider game.

You have an open, bleeding, not even 5 seconds old, CHAINSAW WOUND in your leg, and you go down a gore slide into a pool of blood.
Isn't that basically an infection guaranteed?

I guess he's got Lara Croft's fortitude (mortal wounds due to rusty rebar that should render a person incapacitated and make them bleed ou to death within minutes...just don't matter at all....because protagonist.)

There is a really fast dude who can teleport and kill 3 cops in a millisecond, and a fat psycho with a chainsaw. This gave fucked realism not even in 5 minutes

No, I get what you're saying about being disturbed rather than scared. For example, some people (maybe just me) don't describe knife-slashing, chainsaw-wielding movie villains as scary, more like disturbingly gory. This is the video game equivalent of that. Gore, gore, chainsaws, and knives, but horror? Maybe for some it is.

I'm still in love with this series, both games.
And I'm not surprisingly disappointed by how lacking this game is in creating fear or an atmosphere. It's basically Hostel so far... People always forget to create TERROR in games. That horrifying line between Terrific and Terrible. It's weird, scary, wonderful and we just cannot decipher how exactly to feel about it and we can't help feeling repulsed and simultaneously enamored with it. Really... I find it extremely rare for any horror game to manage to have this even one or two times throughout the entire game - let alone knowing exactly how to utilize terror frequently and often enough to constantly make the player feel unnaturally scared but want to keep playing thanks to the insane amount of curiosity you build in the player as well.
I wish somebody would come out with a horror game that utilized this as well as Team Silent did...

I've been playing this game a bit for myself, and I can honestly say that this game is not one of those real horror jumpscare things. This game is really not that well, but that's mainly because of my view on the aspect ration and FPS lock. The game in itself is well made, really good. It's not scary, but it makes you feel tense, it has a lot of intense and still horrifying moments where you might be running away, and you're really scared because of that twisted creature that's after you. I'm just super glad they're releasing a patch that fixes the aspect ratio and the FPS lock, but that shouldn't even have been in the game in the first place.
But my opinion of this game: It's really amazing. Gorgeous, intense, still horrifying and kinda weird-ish. Story is lacking. It feels like a mixed story of Outlast with it's patients and a lot of popular games just mixed together. I would not recommend it for someone who's looking for horror and scares, but if you're up for a hard game with some really intense moments, get this on a cheap site or when it's on sale. Not really worth it at this price.

John Doe This game does not create fear in the slightest. It makes you tense and disgusted. Intense moments could be perceived as fear, but that's just you getting tense. It sure as hell does have an atmosphere!
