- Here's Sean Malone's last playing drums "Veil of Maya" with Cynic. (Bass cam only.)
We are the huge fan of Cynic since early 90's, so we asked if we could film their live performance in Japan on that day and it was realized. Our mission was un"veil" their unbelievable technique. Then we put more than 10 cameras on the stage. The performance was more than we imagined. He was reasoned, kind, warm and calm man. We really miss him. His monumental works will live forever.
R.I.P. Sean Malone.

I used to go to lunch with Sean a couple times each week when we were in grad school. He was incredibly intelligent and an amazing musician. I am sad.
Do you have any particularly fond pieces of information or stories that you shared with each other during any of those conversations? Very cool to hear about your connection to him.
RIP both Seans
It is so sad that he died. :( Such a beautiful voice he gave to the metal community, as well as his contributions to jazz via his work on Pastorius's legacy.
oh fuck. Didn't know he's dead
Best bass lines in the game are Malone's. Such a tragic passing, i cannot longer hear cynic without feeling a bit sad. Rip Sean Malone and Sean Reinert
R.I.P. Sean, you are a true legend. Beautiful and creative soul, sadly missed.
Sean is a bass master. So sad if you did not know this. He was Master of music, at a university level and he is one of three that I knew could play The chap in Stix. Look it up. I know Sean, Tony Levin and Nick Beggs to crush it on albums. Sean you are forever on my heart and you are one of the greatest players I’ve seen play bass! Honor to see you play!
The Chapman Stick. Bone Apple Tea.
Levin couldn't carry Sean's laundry
Rest in peace Sean.
So sad. Last two albums were phenomenal! Never find music like this again.
And when you think you heard everything i find out about this gem. Amazing bass player.
What a huge loss. Rest in power.
Rest in peace mate. Nobody should go away that way. So glad that Paul is doing everything he can so Sean's passing will help other people dealing with similar issues.
I suspected he took his own life ...such an incredible waste
Happy birthday, Maestro Sean Malone. 04/12/1970 - 12/09/2020 🙏
Sean R is still my hero. So fluid, so technically sound
Thank you so much for doing this, can you share some more cams of him from the show? It's so rare to have this kind of footage to celebrate his legacy and unbelievable playing
Excellent bassist good work
Cynic is a Masterpiece for eternity..
One of the finest if not the finest Cynic songs!
Beautiful
im not sure why nobody has ever said this... Sean Reinert was the Drummer and Sean Malone was the Bassist... Both fucking unbelieveable players and masters of their craft... Fix the error please. Thank you for filming this!
That wasn't Reinhert on drums in this video.
Legend
R.I.P Reinert
Thanks for sharing this. Please do one for Reinert too
RIP Sean & Sean
R.I.P the real wizard

I love those Ibanez SR prestige basses he’s playing
bass god
いつ見ても天才過ぎてウケる。早すぎる死を悼む。
Does anybody know what happened to him yet? So, so sad to lose both of Cynic's rhythm section in one year. 😔
Sadly, there’s no public update yet regarding Sean Malone’s cause of death. Most likely they won’t be publicizing it anymore due to unknown reasons too, or possibly his family’s request for privacy. There are some rumors circulating but I really don’t want to believe it until there’s an official announcement.
@@jenricgonzales You know as much as me then dudo, thanks for the reply! I too have heard the rumours, no given 'medical' cause (like in Sean Reinert's case) is... troubling. 😞
@@divinefallfromgrace no problem bro. 😉 Sean Reinert already had his officially announced. It was heart failure according to medical reports. It’s really Sean Malone’s case that I’m worrying. 😞 I really hope the rumors aren’t true. 😔
Paul wrote on Cynic's page on Facebook today, it was suicide :-(
@@richardtedeschi9290 Thanx for letting me know dudo, really appreciated. Gutted to hear that's what happened to one of the World's true-great bassists. 😣
looks effortless to him
any chance we could get the full show of just the sean malone cam?
Sean Malone died? 😮

Rest in peace, Sean
