The oldest "frontier" photo from USA I think is the one with the Sauk-Fox warrior with the horizontal stripes on his face. Made around 1836 in Indiana or Illinoise.

The lucky folk's have old tin types with they're ancestor's holding musket's and such. Whether native or white. Those are the best old pic's!
