I'm so weird; all I can think about is how good that shop must smell.
You're not weird and you're not wrong.
Amanda Lane Totally not weird. Unless you like the smell of wenge.
Omg I thought the same thing do you like the smell of wood or wet bark;)
Next up: the full dice police station containing tons of dice jails
Is this the Bailey Brig!?!?
If it is, that makes Jason the Wyrmwood Warden.
It is indeed!
At 4:21 you can see "Bailey Brig" on the screen. :D
We made a special one of for Laura. We are calling it the Dice Jail. :)
The BAILEY BRIGG!!! ^___^
I think Laura Bailey would LOVE to have one of those!
She already has one. She had it on the last episode, S2E58. I think this is the one that did go straight to her.
Look at ep 58 of Critical Role, she got one as a gift ;-)
At 4:21 you can see it is called the "Bailey Brig" on the screen:)
I wonder if Wyrmwood has ever thought of making wooden dice.
Might be tricky since you have to make sure the wood is uniform or else they wouldn't be balanced... BUT THEY'D LOOK SO COOL
insanimegamer I think there are some in the Kickstarter
@@gavinclark6891 they have resin and gemstone dice, no wooden dice yet
They would probably be worn down pretty fast, even if they were made of some very heavy wood.
@@ashlynhettler7485 Ooo ill check em out :0
While we don't currently have the capacity to develop a good method of production for wooden dice for us, it is something we may look into in the future and have put some thought into in the past. :)
Just thought I'd comment to say:
On another one of your videos, I commented asking how to start along the path to learning woodworking like this. I was advised to check with local companies and see if there were any courses available.
Long story short, I start the weekly course after Easter. Can't wait to at least dabble, as I've always wanted to try it! Thanks for the inspiration, and the advice
Good luck mate
And careful on them fingers
YES! :') I am so happy for you! :D
Me:Throw a d20 in there for rolling a few too many nat 1s
D20: rolls a nat 20
Soo I just discovered this channel today-I’m pretty new to D&D-and the gentleman on screen I’ve seen in quite a few videos now, frequently wearing that waistcoat. That’s SUCH an awesome waistcoat and I want one in my closet ASAP. 😂
Really like the video, cool to see the types of wood you work with before and after.
I always love seeing each step of the process. Amazing work guys :D
Thank you!
That last shot with the epic music is so fun
THE BAILEY BRIIIIIIIIIIG
bad and naughty dice go in the b a i l e y b r i g to atone for their sins
I am so excited for my very own bailey brig! I had to go back and up my pledge.
Got to wave 2!! So pumped to get mine this year!
Beautiful work as always!
Woohoo!!!, new Wyrmwood vid, love it!
It's beautiful! I've love more videos like this, featuring a variety of people.
Love watching your guys videos even though I am a hand tool only joiner/cabinet maker. I find it really interesting seeing all the tools that have a tail on them.I can’t wait to see the monster sander getting shoved into its new home.
Love watching these.
Looks AMAZING!!!
Every video I learn something about how to be a more deliberate woodworker. Thank you guys!
We're glad that you enjoy the process! There's something satisfying about watching items be made.
I can't wait for the dice jail to get a lid, or maybe even little gargoyle mini figurines you can place into the rivets on the top.
I think you should be able to use another tile as a lid!
You can indeed stack a tile on top of the Dice Jail. :)
This takes me back to my years of middle school were I would make furniture by hand. I remember all the machines :D
That's so cool, though! What made you stop?
@@TengvallCompany I stopped after finishing the school and went on to study architecture
Super cool video!
Another great video. I’m love how it’s made videos.
Ben Cichocki in combination with their other content, it creates a very assertively skilled yet casual experience.
Yall have some really cool toys to play with
imprisoned for number crimes
I feel bad that Bobby still has to live in his parent’ basement, but ultimately I’m excited to get my tiles in NOVEMBER!!!’
For those without an enormous cnc mill, a drill with tape and good set of chisels will work fine
Beautiful
This would be a job I enjoy. Crafting something like this. I wish there were jobs like this here in Lansing, MI
Reach out to local wood shops! You may be able to find something near you. :)
*Cellblock tango begins to play*
Never thought I would AH when looking at wood
So I started watching Wyrm Life a few weeks ago and all the while it was bugging me why I thought Jason looked so familiar, it hit me earlier today that Jason looks like Enrico Colantoni, the actor who plays Keith Mars in the "Veronica Mars" series/movie.
Looks about as secure as any RPG jail you come across, but a lot cleaner. Imagining a row of these lined up in different woods for different dice offenses is visually appealing. Would've added this to my kickstart order but I'm a firm believer that rehabilitation over jailing is better in the long run financially speaking.
And here I am, happy I can change a lightbulb without electrocuting myself.
Given my luck with dice I may need an extra large version...
Bell Forest hand-pick wood FTW!
just show off all those gemstone d20s, sure man, it's not like I really want them or anything...so tempting
(Damn you EU custom and shipping fees!)
with the CNCs giving you so much trouble, i can imagine that putting a one of a kind piece of wood in there was probably at least a bit daunting... you never know, maybe this CNC will also just stop working good, and then what? ants. that's how you get ants.
The tile of shame can be re-purposed as an inspiration die holder. Where the other dice are worshiping the inspiration die instead of hazing the bad one.
Just here remembering when Jason still did actual wood work.
ALL THE SANDERS!
would love to get a transparent video of the costs of manufacturing once. Like how much material and peoplehour per tray.
Noooooooo!!! I wanted one of these so freaking badly and this video only just appeared on my youtube list so I missed the kickstarter. Also on Facebook I must have missed this advertised or something because I have so desperately wanted one, but dangit apparently it wasnt meant to be. I really hope this goes on sale in the store at some point though because I would buy it in 6 seconds flat.
If we do add it to our normal inventory it will be after we have fulfilled all of our current kickstarter orders for it . :)
A wild Paulie at @5:59 !!!
I'm really curious how much that piece of burl cost. I know burls with crazy figure like that can get really expensive even for super small pieces.
the tag on the side says $113.00
Call it what it is. The Bailey Brigg
They called it what it is
Look at the code at 4:21
Is that one going to Laura Bailey?
When the top 3 comment are about Laura Bailey, you know that she has some bad luck
Do you have those vest made? If not where do you get them?
It is for the nat ones
So uh... No dice pedestal for the good dice? XD
miss bailey made the dice jail a thing 😂
:0
Make sure the cast of Critical Role knows of this and dont forget to let every other DnD channel know about this as well.
where does jason get his dopeass waistcoat?!
What finish do you all prefer for those burled/textured woods?
So, basically you are making a jail for @Will Weaton
I didn't comment on a video. These are dark times indeed! Not as richly dark as some.of the wood you folks use.
Do employees get discounts? Can I make friends? I'm but a poor inspector biding my time to pine for one of your illustrious tables.
all I can think about is how they make this stuff and most of it does not go up for sale. granted it takes a special person to want a dice jail, but I'd love a dm screen, too bad they're still small production, someday
Wyrmwood, Where did you get the metal rods and plastic inserts used?
that’s a lot of misbehaved dice right there
Have a general idea on how many dice it can hold? I know there are variables because of what dice you put in there, but say 2 sets of 10 dice, what are we looking at number wise for grand total?
I piled 42 d6s into it. Just to give you an idea. After about 42 they start pouring out the sides.
@@WyrmLyfe 42 normal size D6s?! Holy balls!
@@SirPatriot Correct. :)
I've been wondering for quite some time now, what finish are you using and is it possible to buy it online?
You guys are doing a wonderful job as always, it's fantastic!
We use Tried and True, it is a beeswax linseed oil mixture. :)
Working for you guys would be a dream. What CAD software were you using for this project?
It appears to be AutoDesk's Fusion360.
So this is for dice which betray you (looks at my grassgreen pearls)
I'll need a few of these, but at this point, can I really blame it on the dice? I think I need a new hand! hahahahaha...
See if a little jail times gets those dice to reform their ways!
@@wyrmwoodranger324 funny thing I'm a ranger too! hahahaha...
Are these available still? If not now, are they planned to be again?
What are the rods made of? Chrome, stainless steel? What?
What would this be used for?
I have a slab of Masur birch or visa birch as it's known in Finland. I wonder if you could make the full size dice jail for me if I sent you enough wood to make it? I have pledged so maybe if I'll ask around some in the pledge management portion of the kickstarter.
We are not currently taking custom requests, I'm sorry.
What were the songs used in the video?
Do you really work with long sleeves ,a ring and a smart watch? All things that will cause you to loose a digit or a limb
What finish are they useing?
Wondering that too. Not tung or linseed oil for sure.
its called Useing Bolt fastest runner
Tried and True. Its a beeswax linseed oil mixture. :)
I heard sawdust isn't the best to inhale
It is not the best, no.
Though none of it is good to inhale. What you absolutley have to look out for is Cedar.
What's Jason finishing with? He talks about how great it is but doesn't mention -what- it is. Has WW said what they use to finish their woods?
I believe they use Tried & True Original Wood Finish, a mix between Beeswax and Linseed Oil
If the idea is to punish the dice by throwing them in jail, then why is the jail nicer than my house? If anything we should be using stinky socks.
As a machinist by trade, it made me incredibly nervous that you went straight to the specialty production material even as you were saying you need to make sure the code was right...
I made some test cuts in Cherry. That's just the magic of television
alright, so am i dumb, or do these guys just not make dice towers anymore. i know they had that kickstarter, but didn't that end months ago? i haven't seen them on the website
Not all their kickstarters become permanent products unfortunately. Hopefully they will get enough of a demand to bring them back at some point. Hoping they bring back the Master Vaults back to kickstarter because those were awesome.
I think they’re finishing up the fulfillment of their last dice tower Kickstarter and afterwards they’ll either be available online or they’ll have another Kickstarter.
@@zday6790 it used to be that you could just buy them from the website before this past kickstarter
We're looking at bringing another Kickstarter campaign back for dice towers next year. Keep an eye out!
I don't get it. The dice would escape out the top
I just thought of how ironic it is that Jason is a very "hands on" "made by hand" guy yet he also is the person who wanted to add CNC which can make practically an entire product without human interaction.
Anyone else here in the 360p club?
William Danziger hey hey, I got 144p! It’s real fun!
@@gavinclark6891 nice, I got here when there was only 360, and no other options lmao.
Weird quality, but ok.
The name of the dice jail was also hilarious
Using a machine like that is not woodworking. But you tried.
