Thanks for finding my video and pressing play!
We’re lucky in Britain to have a surprisingly large number of active regional airports offering flights to various places. As part of my unofficial quest to travel from as many of them as possible, I travelled from Bournemouth (formerly Hurn) to Geneva.
Easyjet Switzerland is a Swiss franchise of the popular easyJet brand. It can trace its roots back to the old TEA group of airlines. Today, easyJet holds 49% of their Swiss franchise with a variety of private investors making up the rest.
The report is self explanatory, but I have to say how surprised I was that easyJet offer inflight entertainment (but no WiFi) on this route. They’re ahead of a lot of legacy airlines - BA are you watching? Despite a delay caused by weather in Geneva this was a great experience and well worth the very modest expense of £43 plus £3 seating fee.
As a minor point, the flight was basically fully loaded as the Saturday rotation was cancelled due to weather, and some passengers had been rebooked. It was almost exclusively ski traffic and people heading to the Geneva motor show.
If you want to find out more about my future plans and join in conversations I have about travel, follow me on Twitter: @pauls_trips. I’ve started using it properly now and it would be great to see some of you there too.
Make sure you have your notifications set! 🛎
    Enjoy the report.

Keep up the great content. Bonus whilst typing this a long advert just played the whole way through so that should help with the monetisation at least

This is because I am severely visually impaired and find it a pain to read subtitles. Hello Paul,
I am a new subscriber to yours, so it's nice to meet you :)
To answer your question: I like the flight reports like you've done them in this video for example. The spoken intro, maybe some scenes where you talk to the camera in between and the rest just as the video and then the captions. I think this is just fine and perfect the way it is :)
Great channel by the way. I have been binge watching your videos.
    All the best from Germany,

  • @SaveEastCoastRewards
    @SaveEastCoastRewards 6 лет назад +1

I'd say keep the balance the way it is at the moment the captions when you're inflight point out interesting things on the route and it's good to have an introduction at the beginning and a summary at the end. I like watching these videos and I'm sure they'll remain great however you decide to do them in the future.

I prefer plenty of chat at the start and end with the captions during the journey. Having said that, theres nothing wrong with chatting from the loo on longer train or plane journeys if something needs to be explained.

Happy to have you talk to the camera and can easily understand not talking in the plane - common courtesy to your neighbors. We've flown Easyjet a couple of times. I'd use what I believe is a UK term "cheap and cheerful". Brilliant overhead storage - if you respect their max size, the bags fit in end first on their sides like books on a shelf. Nothing like that in North America.

Hi Paul, I’ve recently discovered your brilliant channel and admit to being a bit of an air travel addict myself; I just wish I could afford to do it more. How do you get into flying different airlines and reviewing them?
In answer to your question at the beginning of the video, I think I prefer less music on the videos when the planes are taxiing, as I like to hear the noise of the aircraft. I would like to hear you speaking more, but I do agree with your comment of that being awkward in a confined space!!
Looking forward to watching more of your travels,
    Cathy Parsons, Bristol.

The narrative videos, are far far better than the non narrative ones. They're much more informative, and also bring a personal touch, they also make the viewer feel for want of a better description more "involved". Also when you use music in future video's can you list the artist and the track please? Keep up the good work.

Not sure about others, but I'm more of a travel geek than an aviation geek. I'd prefer to know more about your itinerary, see maps, etc; I prefer that over un-edited takeoff and landing footage. So, for that reason, I would have to say I would think that the talking at the start of the video is good, as long as you have something to say, and aren't just trying to fill up space in a video.

Hi Paul, I'm new to the channel and would like to congratulate you on your superb content. I'm originally from the Uk but now live in Vancouver Canada and many of the Airport routes that you fly thru remind me of flying around Europe and how cheap it is. Flying out of Bournemouth is something that I've done quite often over the years and was interested in seeing the Palmair 737-200 fwd fuselage on display. We flew this airline a couple of times and very likely that that was the plane as they only owned 1 or 2!!!!!. It was a lovely experience as the owner (think his name was Peter bath) used to shake everyone's hand and wave the plane off on every flight out of Bournemouth. Anyway, great vlog and keep up the good work

Another great trip report Paul. For me your current mix of speech to captions is excellent. I understand that a little more speech on the plane might be better but only when there is some pertinent information to impart. Also maybe an explanation of how the current trip fits in with your other trips like you did today.

Nice 1 Paul, I like the way you run your channel, not too much chat during flight time but hey I like that as you include little snippets off info below keep up,the good work.

Great report again Paul!! Most impressed by the free WiFi onboard!! Hope it is rolled out across the fleet because it improves the overall experience =) Thanks for sharing and look forward to the next upload!

Definitely speak more, Paul. It adds a human touch to all those taxing and take-offs that I'm sure most people fast forward! :) Window footage is offered in every flight report on RUclips, but personal feelings about the trip is a rare thing nowadays.

Hi Paul, Please do keep talking to us on camera as it makes it seem on a much more personal level than just endless captions like I've seen on other channels. As an aside, would it be possible, during your trip report commentary to tell us how you went about booking your flights and train tickets for such reasonable prices. Many thanks, and keep up the excellent work!

Was that Guiness Regular or Decaf? (tee hee hee) I like the way you are doing your vlogs. The specs for the trains are really interesting.
