This coming after Work Work wouldn’t detract people’s impression that Britney’s just the kink girl who released a bad album. But it came out at the time many similar songs were popular, so I think the only reason it couldn’t do well was because the PR & promotion team didn’t make the song’s cultural presence prominent enough. Amazing song though. Even though it’s basic, it’s powerful and I love to hear Britney’s real voice.
