We are just lucky we live in the age of 'technology' (social media)...where it is easier to put your stuff out there. SB19 Josh: We do not want to consider ourselves as better because we look up to many artists in the Philippines. What do you think about the impression that you are copying KPOP? SB19s Stell: Kpop woke my interest in singing and dancing..and what KPOP has done for me, i want to do that for PPOP. SB19s Pablo: Music is a universal language. No one solely owns a genre. We are all influenced by different cultures and music. That is what we call a 'sense of universality'.

Coming from the pioneers of PPop, I completely agree that SB19 is the standard of PPop now. They even lent their voices and talent for commercial jingles like Lazada, Dunkin, TM, Acer, GCash, Pepsi, etc. And lately they were named as the music Ambassadors of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for bringing OPM to the world stage.
@@caaarming first they became NCCA Ambassadors, then a Research on PPop was conducted by the National Research Institute, now, a Bill was passed for OPM. SB19 continues to achieve their goals for PPop and OPM and its heart warming that we are part of this journey.

The key ingredient of the flourishing of PPOP in the Philippines right now is strong social media coverage and a dedicated fanbase. Take, for instance, SB19's A'Tin, they are willing to spend a lot of money to support them, concert tickets sold out, expensive merchandise sold out, this also goes to the brands who they endorse, they buy the products of these brands who supports their idols. Back in 2018-2019, A'Tin constantly makes noise on Twitter, asking brands to let SB19 be their brand endorsers, but very little to no avail; but now SB19 is all over the place, from food brands, tech, commercial retail, money service, and telecom. If these other PPop groups wants to emulate what SB19 has achieved, invest in your fans!
I remember those days that we have to make kalampag, some of us made some product posters with SB19 in it, but those were the days. Now, magugulat na lang tayo may bagong endorsements na lang sila and ATIN are willing to spend. yung bukambibig parati ay walang pera pero pag concert na nag kaka ubusan ng tickets.
one big factor of this is the age demographic of their fans...they have the young fans that do the noise in social media..but they also have many fans who are working professionals....the working age...they even have grandma fans from here and abroad...and those are the one who have the money to spend. these older generation fans are not sold on the colorful, big, production, MV marketings, dance routines..these fans like music...they were fans of 90s boybands..like westlife and backstreet boys...and SB19 is both those kinds..the modern generation idols and the old school idols mixed with their singing abilities.
Well said Elise. 👏 in raising group fans is important . Its hard to please Filipino standard but if you attract them through their songs ,attitude and personality makakrelate ang iba.
@@scablet I agree. I am not a fan of today's pop group because their production is to much for me. I like good music with a beat of pop undertone to it. This what drove me to SB19, I mean the music they make is just another level. I love Tilaluha and Hanggang sa Huli, those 2 songs are my favorites from them. I didn't imagine that I'll be hooked to this PPop group and the PPop scene in general knowing of my age and the like of music I listened to. I may not an active fan, but I am really having a good time listening to their music on repeat. I love Ben&Ben and December Avenue before I knew SB19. It was Ben&Ben who indirectly introduced me to SB19. I stream Ben&Ben music on spotify everyday and time to time spotify recommends songs that I might want to listen and this brought me to Hanggang sa Huli. The songs is so good, the lyrics and the instrumentals very very good until I heard Tilahula so damned good. Theses 2 songs definitely on my top 5. Very superb.
SB19 create and write their own music po even choreography po. We have also Direk Jah one of the member na direct their music video they are really talented at kayang makipag sabayan international. And yes po im agree with you guys SB19 is the standard. Nowadays very recognize na Ang ppop nawa'y mas lumawak pa.
When they said SB19 is the standard! Yes! The struggle they went through pra matanggap ang PPOP sa Pinas. It wasn’t easy, glad the made it. And like all of you, I am also really excited for the Future of PPOP. One thing I really like about Bini is the looks of Dalagang Pilipina meanwhile Alamat with that trendy eclectic Pinoy Fashion. I do hope that this will be the look of PPOP for us to be out of comparison to other POP genre.
SB19 definitely set the standard. Not just an empty praise, but facts. If SB19 didn't pursued and pushed on, and if they gave up when they felt nothing was happening, these things will not be happening now. With SB19's efforts, a lot of people saw PPop as a real deal. A lot of other management and companies also saw the viability of forming PPop groups. At the same time, they saw what they needed to do in order to be relevant. If SB19 didn't risked highly synchronized choreos and beautiful vocals, companies will have remained just forming groups because the members are good looking or they have many social media followers. SB19 showed them that quality is not negotiable. And thats why they are the standard.

I remember back when I was a grade school student, I can already distinguish those who are with quality and a real total package. Part of the credit goes to the fandom, I know SB19 would agree. SB19 x A'Tin is one of the most successful partnerships today. The boys have been pushing and trying for so long but all the good things came when A'Tin found them. Magbubuhat na ko ng bangko dito... ibang level ang dedication natin, mga kaps. Like what Pablo said, they dont have the most number of fans, but they have the dedicated ones. We make the impossible possible through our collective effort. Similarly, ganun din ang PPop as a whole. I'm a lowkey fan of BINI for so long, I'm just so cautious in opening it up esp in my stan accnt in twttr kasi nga im a full A'tin fan. They are sibling group of bg baka ma misunderstood ang pag stan ko, they are really underrated by their mangmnt na actually they can be more, needs more exposure lg tlga.

I like your honest unbiased reactions. You're just being truthful in saying that SB19 has set the standard of Ppop genre. What made them a cut above the rest is that they compose most of their songs and they are written in our own language, that's why tunog OPM talaga just like Alamat and BINI. There's nothing wrong about this, but I just want to say how grateful I am to EL's Planet for making this video. First of all, I got to know about this groups (XLR8, 1:43, & Pop Girls). Second, I've seen how people treated P-pop in the past. And also their struggles as P-pop idols in their time. If this groups have a reunion project, I will fully support them.

As a Filipino, I am proud of SB19 for bringing Filipino music to the global stage. I dont categorized this group as PPOP only because the versatility of this group when it comes to experimenting in trying different genre is quite amazing.. ballads, hiphop, etc.. For me, they are quite unique group, a total package: their leader (Pablo)serves as the brain of the group, a music gem in the industry, the undeniable talent from writing, composing and producing all SB19 songs and being a great rapper and vocalist. Their main vocal (Stell) as their own main choreographer, their main dancer (Ken) which also their lead vocals, contributing in making their dance choreography, their lead rapper (Josh) serves as a spokesperson when it comes to interviews, their youngest member (Justin) as their MV director and the mastermind behind the concept of their concerts and contents. All rouders group: 5 vocals, 5 rappers, 5 dancers, 5 humble human beings. I am happy that SB19 didn't give up for their dreams despite all the hardships they encountered. To SB19, continue raising our flag in the global stage.
i do wish we could focus also in growing and expanding the local music market. going for the international market is nice and all, but iba pa rin kasi kung sa mismong bansa mo palang kaya mo ng suportahan ung mga groups/artists mo. kasi kung lalago ang local market, mas marami tayong maooffer sa mundo and expect that the international market would readily accept us. but for that to happen requires our appreciation and effort.

In the recently concluded concert of SB19, they performed an N'Sync medley as tribute to the 90's boyband era. It would be a nice idea for their next con to do a PPop medley of the songs popularized by the pioneer PPop groups if guesting them would not be possible.

one big factor of this is the age demographic of their fans...they have the young fans that do the noise in social media..but they also have many fans who are working professionals....the working age...they even have grandma fans from here and abroad...and those are the one who have the money to spend. these older generation fans are not sold on the colorful, big, production, MV marketings, dance routines..these fans like music...they were fans of 90s boybands..like westlife and backstreet boys...and SB19 is both those kinds..the modern generation idols and the old school idols mixed with their singing abilities.

This what drove me to SB19, I mean the music they make is just another level. I love Tilaluha and Hanggang sa Huli, those 2 songs are my favorites from them. I didn't imagine that I'll be hooked to this PPop group and the PPop scene in general knowing of my age and the like of music I listened to. I may not an active fan, but I am really having a good time listening to their music on repeat. I love Ben&Ben and December Avenue before I knew SB19. It was Ben&Ben who indirectly introduced me to SB19. I stream Ben&Ben music on spotify everyday and time to time spotify recommends songs that I might want to listen and this brought me to Hanggang sa Huli. The songs is so good, the lyrics and the instrumentals very very good until I heard Tilahula so damned good. Theses 2 songs definitely on my top 5. Very superb.

SB19 definitely set the standard. Not just an empty praise, but facts. If SB19 didn't pursued and pushed on, and if they gave up when they felt nothing was happening, these things will not be happening now. With SB19's efforts, a lot of people saw PPop as a real deal. A lot of other management and companies also saw the viability of forming PPop groups. At the same time, they saw what they needed to do in order to be relevant. If SB19 didn't risked highly synchronized choreos and beautiful vocals, companies will have remained just forming groups because the members are good looking or they have many social media followers. SB19 showed them that quality is not negotiable. And thats why they are the standard.

Part of the credit goes to the fandom, I know SB19 would agree. SB19 x A'Tin is one of the most successful partnerships today. The boys have been pushing and trying for so long but all the good things came when A'Tin found them. Magbubuhat na ko ng bangko dito... ibang level ang dedication natin, mga kaps. Like what Pablo said, they dont have the most number of fans, but they have the dedicated ones. We make the impossible possible through our collective effort. Similarly, ganun din ang PPop as a whole. Lahat ng fandoms may ambag sa growth ng OPM if only we focus on supporting our very own, hindi yung iboboto mo yung kalaban na ibang lahi kahit may nominated na Pinoy dahil lang di mo sila gusto. SB19 writes their own songs, pati music video conceptualization nila, they also do most of their choreography. Pablo as the leader is the genius writer. He had writen commercial jingles that are a bop for Pepsi, Dunkin Munchkins and Acer. React to those songs coz they are all spotify worthy :)

There's nothing wrong about this, but I just want to say how grateful I am to EL's Planet for making this video. First of all, I got to know about this groups (XLR8, 1:43, & Pop Girls). Second, I've seen how people treated P-pop in the past. And also their struggles as P-pop idols in their time. If this groups have a reunion project, I will fully support them.

As a Filipino, I am proud of SB19 for bringing Filipino music to the global stage. I dont categorized this group as PPOP only because the versatility of this group when it comes to experimenting in trying different genre is quite amazing.. ballads, hiphop, etc.. For me, they are quite unique group, a total package: their leader (Pablo)serves as the brain of the group, a music gem in the industry, the undeniable talent from writing, composing and producing all SB19 songs and being a great rapper and vocalist. Their main vocal (Stell) as their own main choreographer, their main dancer (Ken) which also their lead vocals, contributing in making their dance choreography, their lead rapper (Josh) serves as a spokesperson when it comes to interviews, their youngest member (Justin) as their MV director and the mastermind behind the concept of their concerts and contents. All rouders group: 5 vocals, 5 rappers, 5 dancers, 5 humble human beings. I am happy that SB19 didn't give up for their dreams despite all the hardships they encountered. To SB19, continue raising our flag in the global stage.
i do wish we could focus also in growing and expanding the local music market. going for the international market is nice and all, but iba pa rin kasi kung sa mismong bansa mo palang kaya mo ng suportahan ung mga groups/artists mo. kasi kung lalago ang local market, mas marami tayong maooffer sa mundo and expect that the international market would readily accept us. but for that to happen requires our appreciation and effort.
