- SORRY FOR THE WIND :( In this video I am just going over how I've used the flex tools and how they have performed on the job site. This is my honest review as I am not sponsored or payed by flex. I have been given some of these tools for free, but that does not mean I have to say good things about them. I hope this helps someone make a decision! Much Love y'all!

Flex is phenomenal. I was skeptical at first as a Dewalt guy, but I had a couple small projects to do and was able to test out a couple of the Flex tools and I was sold. They’re rock solid and have plenty of power to get the job done. I have most of the Flex line at this point and they’re all great. Anytime I’m using a tool from another brand I genuinely wish I was using the Flex, it’s that good.
Absolutely! Very durable and powerful
I have been loving my flex tools. Thank you for your honest feedback on the line. It makes me feel good to know that the brand is growing and other people are having the same experiences that I am with the tools. Excited for their new batteries and they are new modular system to release
Best review of Flex yet. I've switch from my Makita 18V to Flex and love the tool lineup so far. As a builder, I want to be cord free on sites within a few years. The technology is catching up rapidly and I think Flex is leading the way with durability, ergonomics, legitimate features and feature placement and lastly, the color scheme. Simple Black & Grey with green accents is clean and not blinding to look at. I can't wait to see what they do next. If they come out with a 48V (double battery) sliding compound miter saw, then I will rethink my idea of teaming their tools up with the Makita 40V line. The weight is something that I like, it makes me know where the tool is in time and space at all times. If light tools of this type appeal to a person, then they need to get stronger and use Flex.
bro. couldn't have said it better myself haha. I'm waiting for a power station and a miter saw and then im putting all my dewalt on market pace. i just got another few flex tools and will be making a video about them soon. Really impressed with them!
I like light tools because I do a lot of high up demo and roofing. Tools get thrown and swung around and bringing ALL of them down every single day is already heavy enough.
Great review and no bias. I'll be checking out some more of you videos. Thanks for the quality content, keep it up.
Of corse, and thank you!
Awesome review been skeptical about switching over to flex because I’ve been a dewalt guy but after watching this i think ima give it a try the worse that can happen is having more tools in my arsenal
Just purchased and waiting for the FX171T and the FX1371A. Can't wait to try them out. Thanks for the review.
I have typically been a DeWalt user but bought some craftsman tools and have been honestly surprised they have held up and have been pretty good but I'm starting to think I might try the flex tools just for the battery life which seems amazing compared to the other brands
I can’t say enough good things about my flex tools. I have basically all of them as well and my only complaint is that I wish they had more options but I will buy each one as they are released
After watching all your stuff bro, as a concrete carpenter, rodbuster and concrete finisher out of Pensacola Florida, I’ve switched from dewalt, flex kicks ass man.
I'm liking FLEX so far, I'm a Milwaukee guy at the moment but from what I've seen so far with FLEX Especially their new stacked lithium battery tech I'm starting to switch my tools over to FLEX as they become available. I'm super excited for the rear hander circular saw and their Power Stack system, I was going to invest more in the Milwaukee Packout but after seeing the QoL improvements they have made over the Dewalt and Milwaukee storage systems I'll be waiting for the FLEX platform to release. I would love to see them release a Power Supply Station both like the little inverter block Milwaukee makes that outputs 175W as well as something similar to the MX Fuel Power station that you can plug in say 4-6 batteries in and put out 3000Watts or something.
I agree 100% as soon as they drop a power station (I have the dewalt one) I’m going full flex. But that 4-5 battery charging and output station is a game changer. Especially so you don’t lug around 10 chargers haha
@@JonDawson Do you know when Flex will be releasing their Stack Pack system, looks REALLY COOL
Flex is ok , they lack mostly in diversity of tools , the stacked lithium isn't going to really find its stride until they offer larger saws like compound miter , table saw and even compressor and then they'll blow the field up . The impact definitely has insane power but as a cabinet guy I generally need a more gentle touch but if I'm building a deck I'm Flexin
I love my Flex tools. I got the barrel jig saw and in line saw first. After that I got the 5 tool kit plus light and since that kit did not come with their top of the line drill and driver I bought that kit too. That was an expensive day, lol about $850. I don’t regret it one bit! I also got all of their blade and bit packs.
Expensive day but so satisfying when you try them and discover they were worth it...
I have put my flex impact to the test on the job site first thing I did was drop it 3 stories onto boulders and it still kicks ass, just today I was driving 3/8"x8" bolts with it and it does it in a matter of a few seconds and doesn't slow down no matter the battery life, can't beat the price/quality balance on these boys
Wish FLEX had a 12v line, I use all FLEX for the larger tools and phased out my Dewalt, hoping FLEX comes out with more specialty tools like a press tool or pex expansion tool in the future, I still have to keep my Dewalt and Milwaukee tools for the specialty equipment. Hoping FLEX puts out more soon !
Those bit sets look dope. Might have to check them out
You won’t regret it. I love that. Have yet to break a bit too
Thanks. I'm considering jumping into the Flex brand after seeing @projectfarm drop his latest review on cordless circular saws. After a short research I see Flex is changing battery AH levels in there newest line up. While I don't see this being a issue these batteries are super pricey!
Hi I just bought the flex vacuum it was $129 and you got a free 350 amp stack battery which is worth 179 alone. I don't understand flex every time I go to Lowe's every week they have tools on clearance and they're 60% off I feel that Lowe's might be dropping their line it doesn't make me feel good in the heart knowing that these nice tools are being sold so cheap but on the other hand I buy a lot of them when I see them on sale. Let me tell you about this tremendous vacuum I'll leave it in the back of my Mercedes van so I can always keep it clean when I throw my crap in the back and have trash days where I have to take bags of trash off the job site if you use a 2.5 volt battery it will work fine but I will tell you if you put a 10 amp battery and that thing it will work like it's supercharged or turbocharged The thing just sings away really loud and the suction is much more incredibly stronger so there you go the bigger the battery the faster that thing will work now I'm talking about going from a 2.5 amp regular battery to a 10 amp stack battery I don't necessarily know if you need to put a 10 amp stack battery cuz it makes a little bit heavy but I'm sure if you put a 6 amp stack or an 8 amp battery it will work good too anyway it's a super good tool but the way they're selling these tools where you buy the vacuum for $129 and they give you $179 battery for free all these prices are just insane it doesn't leave me comfortable that the company is going to be in business or possibly Lowe's is dropping their line I'm looking forward to hopefully on clearance the tripod light that's 249 coming down in price My store where I live has eight of them they've been there for 3 months they haven't sold a one I can see them up in the top and I asked the guys that do the flex there and they all own flex now cuz they get them on clearance too they said the lights haven't moved at all they're too expensive but it's a great light so I'm waiting for the light to go on clearance and the radio. I bought the rear handle saw that was 399 for $209 on Amazon. Now two weeks ago Lowe's had it on clearance for $159 that was the kit with the charger and a 10 amp battery I kept the bat two batteries I bought two saws I kept the two batteries and I sold the saws with the charger for $159 what I paid for them and they gave you a $300 battery. See this is ridiculous this is not what I understand how does the company make money doing this. Why is Lowe's dumping all these things
Love em. Just got the 6.5 inline circ saw today. It's smooth as hell. I really wished they would have had it available with the 10ah stacked, but it works great with the 5ah as well
Good choice! Most people that I've talked to love all the tools. only those who haven’t t tried them dislike them haha
Are you sure? The 5.0 battery that comes in the kit is light enough that it really is a one handed saw. Put a 10ah pn there and it might just tip the scale and make it feel different. I bet they did testing before releasing it for sale.
Plus i cut the boards for an 8x12 porch and only used up 1 bar on the battery. That's not to shabby....
@@unclefester4626 true. Didn't think about that.
Their tools are great, above and beyond. I even have a 30+ year old flex buffer that gets huge compliments, corded but great.
Flex is 🔥. Awesome video brother
I’m lovin them so far. And thanks!
I'm sure Flex gets the job done, but as far as quality goes Makita kicks ass. keep up the good work Jon
I agree about makita and thought the same thing about flex at first. Having use makita and dewalt for years. If we did a durability test. I’d wager a large amount of money on flex.
I too am a Makita guy, but honestly whatever brand offers what I need at the given time I will try LOL
Better watch out....the Makita Gnome will get ya....🤪🤪🤪🤪
I love my flex sets …makes every job tun so smoothly
I just bought the Flex inline circ saw. YES i like it!
I bought the FLEX 6-Tool set for $650, and for that ive been so happy. For the price, you get an impact driver, hammer drill, Sawzall, Circular saw, oscillating multitool, and a flashlight along with multiple blades and bits for every tool and 2 batteries. You seriously can’t beat the quality and performance for that money.
Actually Metabo HPT has a much better line of tools, power, lifetime warrantee(always), AC adapter capable for longer running tools such as table saw, mitre saw, SDS Max Rotary Hammer, grinder, full size router, vacuum, cordless compressor, portable band saw and any other 36V tool and Metabo HPT has the best and industry standard for 25+ yrs in nailers and fasteners-
We have had a few guys burn up their Flex Hammer drill using that turbo too much
The new Metabo HPT new rear handle is so much lighter and a joy to use and has replace our old favorite Makita and Milwaukee, DeWalt rear handles
The MHPT 36V whips the flex Recip as well
Flex has some good battery tech-we'll see how she holds up but I will let others show.kingevity before I dump money into new line
Jon , have you had a issues with triggers ? I’ve been through 3 impacts due to faulty trigger
Flex is a beast don't get me wrong, Makita has never let me down and besides I'm from South Africa so we are not familiar with Flex.
all and all pretty EPIC
Oh word. If we are all being honest. Any name brand tool now days is solid. Only way you can say one is better than the other is if you really get picky and down to details. Over all DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Flex, even Ridgid are good tools.
I was thinking of changing to flex from dewalt but their range of tools is not there yet and i dont want to run two platforms.
i have a couple porter cable and ryobi tools but with dewalt battery converters. ill revisit in about 2 to 3 years im sticking to yellow team especially that the 5ah power stack battery is coming
How is the grinder vs the flexvolt or Milwaukee fuel?
I have the impact drill and thr regular drill I love it now I am getting ready to but the entire flex platform. Jamal Smith Detroit Michigan thanks brother
Cool review thanks!
is the Flex tools gray at lowes the same as the Red Flex tools in europe🤷🏾♂️...they look the same
🔥🔥
Where did you buy the new battery? I can’t find it on lowes
They are not available yet, today Flex told me I can preorder from Acme or Ohio Power Tools and it ship late May.
thank you for your time.. i am looking to by a set but been wandering with one is the most powerful , durable and strong ... i been using at work Makita brand but got so disappointing in a lot of thing with the drills ... at home i have and all set of 18v DeWalt but batteries just not keeping up drills been ok circular saw and zall-zall but need it to add some other tools like Jigsaw , Oscillating tool rotary hammer drill , grinder and on, on ... thank you for your shearing your experiences ..
Flex standard tools are bad ass, makita got the cool specialty circ saws, milwalkee owns the nails guns, dewalt corded stationary tools are good. Some metabo stuff is good. I'm so over dewalt over charging on outdated weak tools. And for the record kobalt is better then ryobi
Can wait till someone comes out with adapters to use flex batteries on other brands tools
Flex is amazing, I was a DeWalt guy but than I watch Perkins brothers use flex alot so I decided to sell all my dewalt power tools even my flex volt circular saw to switch to flex 💪 now I'm happier an I work better
Good job a love flex tools
Bought that same combo on Ebay and like a seen from Jason the horror came in in black goo leaking from all batteries. Called Flex and since I bought them online and not Lowes they will not replace them. Problem is that they did not make it public about their horrible battery crisis and they ONLY helped people that would call in so f*&^* everyone else who did not call in because they didn't know about flex replacing the bad batteries. Replacement batteries are very expensive, I just bought be a drill with cord instead for $40.
What about Battery issues?
When I discovered Flex , I went very happy.
👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯
Your last tiktok brought me here
Let’s go! I appreciate it man! Hope you like the videos
You should do more videos
How much $ you got invested rn
Yes and they are faulty for leaking. I bought one of the whole kits like this with all tools and batteries they all leaked.
Fuck Flex. I bought the FlexFlex FX1371A-2B 24-volt Impact Driver from Lowe's
and it was crap. My old Ridgid worked better. The Flex could not break 13mm
intake bolts but my Ridgid got em out with no problem. I figured I'll get the
Flex cause it's the next big thing, but it sucked ass. Battery instantly drained
under strain so I took that shit back. 24v my ass. More like 24 nope.
thats the first I've heard of something like this happening. I've used mine mainly in construction so I dont know the ability it has in the mechanic world.
Ya I habe a construction company we go through all the tools out there if there is any tools that give any sort of problems we get rid of em. They make high quality tools. I think if they keep it going over the next few years the other companies better watch out. But they do need more tools
Just saw this video.
Sick set up. Working on adding a few tools to mine.
FLEX !!!! first gen were better, had a batch of leaking batteries but hopeful thats resolved i got a few warranty replacements that havent leaked... People dont realize the company been around since the 1920s or something, they invented the angle grinder in the '50s
My dude said he been using this stuff for 8 months but then said he charged the battery once later on lol
Wanting to like the brand but I don’t wanna be wrong lmao
I’ve only had the stacked lithium battery (the one that hasn’t hit stores yet) for only a few weeks. So yea I’ve only charged it once. Everything else I’ve had for a long time. Thanks for the comment tho 🤙🏾
They’re gonna be discontinued this year :(
where did you hear that?
Lol, this guy hasnt used any of these!
You seem to be the only 0.1% contributing member of society!
For a second I thought those tools weren't yours if you know what I mean.
Flex sucks, shameless rip offs of tech that their brutally late to the game with.
Have you used them? Cuz top tradesmen don’t agree with you. Just curious if you have put them to the test.
@@JonDawson The tools probably aren’t bad; at the end of the day, they all perform pretty close; it’s more about preference. No brand has all the “best” tools; each brand has some tools that perform slightly better than each other.
Flex tools probably perform pretty well, but flex sucks, especially as a brand; they’re just a shameless rip-off of the top competitors that bring nothing new to the table. Even check out their new shameless pack-out rip-off. 😂
@@JonDawson I mean no disrespect to Just talkin shit, like the vids
@@franciscogoya4458 no disrespect taken I love the conversation and different opinions! Haha I think having dug deep into The battery technology that flex has, has really put them in a good light for me
@@JonDawson fair enough brother, at least someone is making content reviewing them because their not much out there, I understand they’re just trying to establish themselves.
🫡. People hate on flex and say they r not contractor proof but don’t test the tools out. People r legit scared to switch and try something new it’s hilarious
