I find it incredible that RE have managed to make a modern 350, sound like a 1950's machine. If you listen to the new BSA, you can hear that it's still a modern engine, and doesn't seem in keeping with the looks. (maybe it's because I'm a musician, I hear these things) PS long pipe certainly sounds deeper, Bruce.
Thanks, I’m real happy with the bike even more than before!, it really is the definitive Modern classic! 😁👍👍👍 Thats a good point you make about theGold Star, not the old noise like the 350, Cheers Bruce
I went back to longer pipe, had the Indian bottle pipe and decat but changed back after a while, toooo noisy on all day rides, much better now😊 Atb Bruce, Chris
Morning Bruce, thanks for the mentions ☺️, I have often had to peel the protective film off sheet aluminium, a bit of a pain. I have to keep Clementine shiny, my ocd goes into overdrive if I leave her dirty 🤦♂️😂. I am tempted with the Hitchcock’s free flow pipe, but I still think it looks a bit odd, being so much smaller in diameter than the original chunky one. I have time to make my mind up as every time I look, Hitchcock’s are out of stock 🤦♂️🙄 Cheers
Hi Ian, Clementine and her condition are good example of RE build quality 😁👍 Stuff often selling out of stock is sometimes a good thing as stops compulsive spending! 😜🤣😁👍
What a cracking sound from the exhaust. More like a baritone trombone 😊 Reminds me of “tutti’s trombones doing the pink panther theme, but trombone’s 😊
Imho looks better now because of where bracket is mounted, when it’s on short setting it’s like it’s missing something just my opinion, and sounds wild all best
Yep, I get where you're coming from, with early starts and horses, but if it was on my bike, baffle out and shorter. But that's down to my personal choice.
That sounds good Bruce, I have the same exhaust on my Bullet 500 B5 and it sounds better with the baffle fitted I think, I prefer the look of the exhaust in the forward position, also sounds good in that position, I found that it does discolour pretty quickly, but that only adds to the bike looks. Either way it does bring out the thump of the single. Tim
Hi Tim my other half heard me a half mile away when i left for work this morning 🤣 so baffle will go back in and i will prob return the pipe to the shorter set up 😁👍 friend Trav is also getting this pipe for his Bullet 500 😁👍
I love the trombone comparison. Makes perfect sense to me. Changed my mind about shortening my exhaust with the cat delete and will likely order a kit. Thanks ! I am presently tracking a DNA filter and cap. Kind of costly though. Shipped from Athens for $190 CAD and then got notice I had to pay $25 more import duty ! I am a bit worried what the cat delete from UK will cost. 😏 Yous sounds excellent . Cheers 🥃
Thats been made for me after commuting with the baffle out today Simon! It sounds great for some film as folk wanted to hear it but its just a bit too loud 😜
I prefer the long look. It would be interesting to hear your opinion about power and torque changes with the different lengths of pipe. In theory the longer pipe should produce better torque and as it is nearer to the stock length better scavenging at the exhaust port. Lets face it, though, it's a 350 single revving to 6k max so not exactly a drag racer so you might not notice any difference at all.
Hi i was thinking it does run better with the pipe longer, its maybe just the nite but also seems smoother and pulls better at low revs just cruising along which is what you want for most of the time with a bike like this 😁👍
Hi, I’m probably going to use it stock and i will prob end up painting it with PJ1 satin exhaust spray as i cannot imagine the silencer dulling down that much 😁 Cheers Bruce
Hi George, i do like the bike a lot with the mods 😁👍 I would also e happy with a second J series bike left totally stock and enjoy the good things these bikes offer for the money 😁👍 Cheers Bruce
Hi Adam, i rode to work today without the baffle and its deft a bit barky for early morning! 😜🤣 but going to leave it long and paint it black 👍😁cheers Bruce
hi Bruce Baffle out😁 It sounded better outside, especially when it's warm... ..in the city it might be better to clean it up, in the country it doesn't matter without it.... you still need a black spray can Black exhaust is cooler 😉too much shine for the drab🍻
I forgot to say.... Fully extended, baffle in for me please xx😅
Thats how we’re going to roll with it Trev 😁👍
Baffle in . Sounds great 👍
Agree, happy with the noise set up stock 👍😁

Baffle in! Nice sound…
Baffle in wins the day! 😁👍👍👍

Hi Chris, the noise is a good point for long rides, esp for riders behind you 😁
Long with baffle in sounds best in my opinion. Sounds great especially on tickover!!
I think so too! Phil! 😁👍👍

I think opinions will be divided. I am all for the long version and the bracket how it should be but sounds terrific either way.
Dale.
Cheers Dale, the pipe deft sounds great what ever way set up 😁👍👍
I do like it long, just seems to fit better. You know aesthetics😊. Sound wise it sounds brilliant either way.
Glad you like it! It has a lovely noise wether baffle in or out 😁👍
“I do like it long, just seems to fit better” - that’s what she said 😂😂😂
THAT'S the sound I want! Much better than shorter.
It sounds real nice now Niall! 😁👍👍👍
What a cracking sound from the exhaust. More like a baritone trombone 😊

😁👍👍
It looks a lot better longer
Agree and runs i think better as it was designed to be used 👍
Cheers Bruce

Hi i will ride it this weekend with baffle in, today i commuted with baffle out bit just bit too noisy!
Sounded great though!

I like it long and quiet(er)
Hi, that’s the majority vote which i am going for 😁👍
Cheers Bruce
I enjoy your videos, Bruce. I don't have a TV so your videos make great dinner time viewing for me.
Ps, longer exhaust FTW
Pps, I also have a Classic 350 in Signals Marsh Grey and I bleddy love it!
Thanks for watching Dylan 😁👍
Thats how i am going to run it 😁👍
Once my bikes older i am thinking for a 2nd to again of another stealth grey as it was the colour i liked most when i could not get a Signals 😁👍

😁👍👍👍🥃
I think it sounded better with the baffle in tbh. Not so harsh.
Thats been made for me after commuting with the baffle out today Simon! It sounds great for some film as folk wanted to hear it but its just a bit too loud 😜
Sounds outstanding. Just how these 350s sound so good, I simply do not know.😊
They are lovely sounding, even with stock exhaust! 😁👍
As my wife would say l prefer it longer 😂sorry just my childish humour, and with the baffle in as well 👍
🤣😁baffle is in 👍👍😁

Personally I think it looks better longer and sounds good with the baffle in. I think the pipe looks good with the black engine.
Hi Ian, i am now running the pipe as properly intended and with baffle in 😁👍👍
Cheers Bruce
Great thump❤️
Sounds ace! 😜😁👍👍
Surely you would want it as quiet as possible when you go raiding into England again!! Surprise and all that!!😉😉😂😂😂
😜😁👍👍
nay it needs a bagpipe system.... make the squills that'll put the wind up em....
I'd go for the long exhaust with baffles in 👍Any plans to paint it black ?
Hi, I’m probably going to use it stock and i will prob end up painting it with PJ1 satin exhaust spray as i cannot imagine the silencer dulling down that much 😁

@@Coastriderscotland I have the same bike as you in the gun metal grey, shame you cant get the free flow exhaust in black as yours sounds amazing. 👍
So now that you have your mods done, How did you like the performance? The bike did sound damn good!
Hi George, i do like the bike a lot with the mods 😁👍
I would also e happy with a second J series bike left totally stock and enjoy the good things these bikes offer for the money 😁👍

Looks better long. But. With or without the baffle?? It’s a hard one.

you still need a black spray can
Black exhaust is cooler 😉too much shine for the drab🍻
Just ordered a can of PJ1 Satin black for it on eBay this evening, togo with the non chrome look 😁👍👍👍
@@Coastriderscotlandyes 😁
Long and baffle out 😎
😁👍👍
Hi Bruce, would you say this full exhaust is much louder than decat and standard silencer. Many thanks
Hi Andrew, it is slightly louder but it does not upset horses i slowly pas , wee dogs still sometimes bark but they barked at the stock bike! 🤣
Sounds braw
Cheers Stevie 😁👍👍
