Now forget that. How about Jon Finkel playing a Black Green Seasons Past deck? Does anything else matter? Is this everything you want out of Pro Tour Shadows over Innistrad? I thought so.
I'm not sure there is anything scarier than Johnny Magic searching his library for a card.

I made my own budget Seasons Past for my casual group with Nissa Worldwaker and even still many many years and decks later it's by far my favorite deck to play!

I'd rather they didn't pay any attention to diversity and instead focused on hiring qualified commentators.
Thankfully, Gaby qualifies either way.
I miss this time in Standard
I like underpowered standard environments, where the mana fixing isn't as good and the cards aren't as busted. It rewards deckbuilding and fundamentals more than having T3feri, companions, and energy bail you out.
Although in Dragons of Tarkir, another great overpowered standard, everything was OP, so every little thing mattered so much more. Busted cards like Ugin and Siege Rhino still dominated the format, but there was a surprising amount of deck variety. It wasn't all Siege Rhino. In fact, some players (I think PVDDR) argued that Abzan wasn't even in the best deck in the format, and that Esper Dragons was. But that standard format too rewarded the player who took advantage of every little detail. Bile Blight my own Sylvan Caryatid, wait to crack my fetchland because I like the card on top from my Courser, bring Roast in from the sideboard to kill Siege Rhino, maindecking draft chaff like Goblin Heelcutter, Abzan Charm to put counters on my opponent's creatures so that they die to Elspeth, etc.
So much room for original stuff. I loved this standard

At 26:23, Jon draws his card, we can see his hand, then the director decided to cut to a shot where we can't see what card he just drew...

Gaby is so much better than Buehler, and Hagon seems really good in the news desk. This PT seems like a step in the right direction booth-wise.

Gaby is alright, she knows the game. She just needs time to become a true commentator. Buehler is awesome though imo, he knows Magic like the back of his hand and tells it how it is at every turn.

At 25:15 John didn't take any damage from his pain land
It feels like blue is useless in the current standard- not enough good counter spells, no good card draw low enough on the curve to be useful, all it's got to bring to the table pretty much is Origins Jace and a few strong tempo effects like Bounding Krasis and Reflector mage. There's strong stuff in there, but that's not enough for a whole color. Instead black does all of the control spells, draw, and more.
+Parker Dixon-Word The lack of card draw is the real killer. Other than that Blue has all the tools it needs.
+Parker Dixon-Word I literally just said this to my friends. "Blue exists only in the faded memories of Bant Company" (Faded memories because the deck is being heavily hated on in the metagame because it was expected)

It will be released after the PT. Currently its not on the internet, because he doesn't want his PT Opponents to know the deck

Hm, i wonder why Gaby got the job she has? I wonder if it was because of her amazing knowlege of magic that no other guy who was interested in the job had? yeah, i bet thats it. 16 thousand 500 cards, and everyone is using the same couple of decks and the same few cards.

WorksGreat ...I didn't even say anything regarding her gender; I was just identifying who I was talking about. Had I been talking about the male commentator, I would have said, "the male commentator says 'rumble' waaaaaay too often." I have absolutely nothing to say about her gender, but I have everything to say about how often she says, "rumble".
There may be plenty of people out there commenting on "women in MTG", but I personally couldn't care less. Please go look elsewhere for people with misogynistic tendencies, because you won't find them with me.
