Reminds me of the early years of the EAA at Rockford Illinois! These types of gatherings are so much nicer than the way over priced Oshkosh! The AAA has a great gathering every Labor Day!
Man I wish I would have known about that fly in. I would have made the 30 minute flight over from KSQI. Nice video. I love the gentle tunes in the background!
LOVED IT! Switching to B & W for the out-go was choice!!!! My only minor complaint is, Bill - you need to talk louder when narrating. Several times it was difficult to hear what you were saying. Other than that, it was a fantastic film/clip of a great adventure! Keep 'em coming!
Really enjoyed your trip back to Texas as well as the trip up! Nicely done. One question. It seemed the pilot didn't give the old W670 much time for warm up after start, especially that first start in the mornings. Less than a minute from start to takeoff out of Galesburg for your trip home. I was always taught to get some heat into the oil before exceeding 1000 RPM on a radial. I've owned, maintained, and flown a Stearman for 28 years, and also have several thousand hours in old radial engine equipment, especially the DC-3/C-47 (P&W 1830's) and the Martin 404 (P&W R2800 CB16's). Typed in both. Perhaps that warm up time was edited out of your video. Just curious. Thank you. "Mike" Kelly "Old School" Aviator and CFI
Ah, the magic of the editing room floor... It was about a quarter mile to the takeoff point leaving FW. About a half mile at Galesburg. Engine was plenty warm. And we were mindful of adequate temperature indication in the cockpit prior to takeoff. Thanks for watching and keeping an eye out for us!
@@HangaRatz Thank you for your reply my friend! Us older pelicans (I'm 74) are always looking at things sometimes too closely! Keep 'em flying . . . lest we forget! "Mike" Kelly
Two outstanding videos of your Galesburg journey! Thanks for the nice compliments for our Geneseo airport. Please join us again!
Thanks for letting us invade your neat corner of the world! We will return!
Great Job Bill, loved the Black and White 1930's Newsreel Easter Egg.
Thanks!
It was nice talking to you at Geneseo. Thanks for coming!
Doug, I apologize for not getting your name when we met. My bad manners... and bad memory... We'll get together again in '22!

I am hoping to make AAA this year. Missed it in years past. ☹️. Thanks for watching!

Great time! Plan for 2022!
Looks like fun. Tiring with the wind, but fun.
Very fun!

What happened to the two rescue planes?
The rest of the squad bugged out a day or two previous due to work commitments. Oh well!...
