    girl. your videos never fail to support me emotionally (in so many ways - not only in your conversations for healthy mindset eating but also the utter chaos that ensues and goes on while you barely bat an eye.) love you, you're doing so much good.

    I think the "balanced meals" issue goes largely ignored. I've had the whole balance issue weighing out and "balancing" things for years. I can't get over. People obsessed with getting in "a protien" despite the fact that it has nothing to do with the actual proien content of a meal or "a vegetable" despite the fact that many, many fruits, grains, beans, ect (even on a per calorie basis) can be much higher in micronutrients. Your body can store some micronutrients for weeks, months even years. Not every meal, not every day needs to be "balanced"

      @@brunanovo6444 thank you for making me feel not alone. I still struggle with these thoughts in my head. I like to eat a lot of fruit for breakfast. Like pounds of it. Like more than a substantial meals worth in energy. Because there is tonnes of free fresh fruit available from peoples trees where i live, its hard not to eat it, i dont even buy fruit ever. But it feels wrong because people online are always telling me my breakfast needs to be high protein, contain healthy fats and get some veggies in. Even though I know I will be eating grains, legumes, vegetables and nuts/seeds later in the day.

    Lovely video Helena!! You were definitely so helpful to me in my own ED recovery and I'm just so grateful for you girl!! And pastries are my favorite, I'm so thankful I can eat them without fear and guilt now! That brownie looked so yummy and it's ironic because I had a piece of cake in my video, for breakfast!!! And it's so fun to be able to eat the foods we were once so scared of. Sending you so much love and big hugs from LA! xoxo 🤗🥰❤💕💕💕🎄

    I relate so much to the unfortunate events happening one after another in the kitchen. The other week I made a wonderful bowl of oatmeal and dropped it ALL OVER the carpet in my kitchen. Immediately after that, I somehow managed to spill a half-gallon of water and soap all over my walls... It was only morning time and wow, just WOW

    i think what helped me the most in this video is seeing you eat right before you went to sleep. that’s something i’ve ALWAYS struggled with, not just because it causes some discomfort for me while i sleep, but because diet culture told me i would gain weight in my sleep. such a stupid concept, when all you’re doing is cherishing what your body wants and craves, which in the end is what’s best:,)

    Trigger warning ⚠️
    Calorie labels in the US at least aren't anywhere close to accurate. In the us they go unregulated, they can easily be off by over 100% sometime even like 500% or infanent there is literally vegetable oils and other over fats labeled as 0 calories with 0g of fat on the label. So now you know depending on where you live that the "unknown calories" thing might not make a difference. Also fresh produce cam vary a lot in calories as well. 100g of avocado can be less than 100 to over 300 calories depending on the moisture content 100g of pumpkin can be less than 20 to 100+ calories. I've actually researched these things for years I can't make this stuff up

    • @Radisgrek
      @Radisgrek Год назад +2

      This is true, idk about "500%". But I think a lot of people share this as a way to encourage people to let go of calorie counting. But for me when I was extremely sick with anorexia I just took that as " I need to eat even LESS now to make sure, because I can't accurately measure the calories". Honestly, I'd suggest not telling people this, I think it scares people more than helps them.

    • @phillippinter7518
      @phillippinter7518 Год назад

      @@Radisgrek I can assure you about the calorie labels being that far off. My sister works at a bakery that uses lots of butter and sugar and there was a pumpkin cake labeled as 140 calories per loaf but should have been closer to 500 based on its weight and usda information for pumpkin cake. I've also seen vegetable oils labeled as zero calories but when actually tested by labs there more like 900 calories per 100g/3.5oz

    • @phillippinter7518
      @phillippinter7518 Год назад

      @@Radisgrek from a logical perspective (not that eating disorders are logical) it shouldn't matter if you find out that you have been eating more calories than you thought. It just means you have a faster metabolism than you thought. Like say if you were eating a bunch of "low calorie products" and you thought you were eating 1000kcal a day but you were actually eating 2000kcal. All that means is that you are burning twice the calories as you thought you were

    • @Radisgrek
      @Radisgrek Год назад

      @@phillippinter7518 Actually for me it just meant I was exercising enough to "make up for" the excess in unknown calories. Thereby, reinforcing the idea that I needed to keep doing that to avoid gaining weight. It's not a helpful piece of information in any way for someone with an ED to learn.

    • @Radisgrek
      @Radisgrek Год назад
