You are the epitome of the real traveller where the enjoyment of the journey is as important as the destination
$25 for a shack . that is highway robbery.
$25 is like a 3star or 4 star hotel in bangkok
@@user-ff8pc2jm5gyes I might have well rented a couch or couch surfed
@@user-ff8pc2jm5g Yeah that is a downside of the Philippines especially in the province areas. Locals can stay for $8-10 a night but with no aircon, no hot water, and only a thin foam pad mattress. In Cebu City you can get a decent room for $30 a night with free breakfast, but even in Davao City you're getting a 1 star room for $25, and the nice rooms at the Marco Polo are $200 a night and there is not much available in the middle of those extremes. Maybe some AirBnB condo rentals are a better value.
@@user-ff8pc2jm5g ha, yes, i thought the same thing regarding phnom penh.
Your videos are unique because you show the areas and community you pass by. Love your interactions too with filipinos. I hope you enjoy your travels and wish you success in whatever you do.
You’re killing it, Scotty! Great interactions, great music and your editing prowess is really coming on, too. To drink from the purest waters, one must go to the source!! 👍
Hands down the best Philippines channel. Good job bro, living my dream.
wow thank you for the great compliment MR. MMA
You're editing and total expertise is getting off the charts!!! You should be pleased at how the quality gets better and better, Netflix will be calling you soon Bro,
15:44 Scotty's got all the right moves.! Love it! Great walking music BTW. Thanks for another walk around town. 👍
13:04 truly felt like I went in this adventure with you! Great cinematography!
i like how you point out your new locations in relation to a well known location such as Manila .. please continue to do so as that really makes the 'discovery' of a new place that much more interesting when you know 'exactly' where it is .. nice tour .. thank you
I give you props. You wander around and explore parts of cities, Barangays, and Sitios that most expats don’t explore or stay in.
I explored the barangay of cebu city, people are curious as to why a foreigner wants to go there and not the beaches, i told them to see the true philippines personally.
My wife is from General Mac Arthur (Eastern Samar)
Her father is a tricycle driver.
They have to struggle for life.
Greetings from Holland (the Netherlands)
You can rent a boarding house room in most small cities for about
3000 pesos a month, but most foreigners do not know this
There are three rent prices in a lot of the philippines citys.
Filipino, chinese, and americano.
Took me four years to learn
The birthday girl was saying that she was just cooking, asking you if you were alone, by yourself, and sounded like she was also asking if you had children. She probably wanted to set you up with her daughter, haha.
Wow, they showed you a pink room but gave you the lime green room with the matching toilet water ladel, I'd consider that a major upgrade, very nice indeed!!!
Cubu Philippines very impressive beautiful place to see an visit. An live there later to. My great information for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.
They look like they just saw a BIG BUNNY 🐰🐇
Naw they found better a nice white North American who hopefully will splurge his money on their daughter and thus the family. Even better he takes her back. Seeing how this guy lives I don’t think he has much money honestly he seems sort of broken. His videos are good but he has a string of girlfriends they have sex he hardly talks about his kids who are back home (probably a deadbeat dad). Just being honest.
Sometimes speaking broken English is good to do
It sends message to other person that feel comfortable speaking English to me even though you have broken english
Hey Scotty! Another great vid... 😊 just one thing, keep away from the the waterways if you have a deep cut in the skin... got back to the UK and within a few days i was in hospital with cellulitis and a bad blood infection from flies that obviously been sniffing around more than Coke cans in these small rivers... after 3 months of treatment I now have a 10"x 4" ulcer on my left leg and smaller one in another area of the leg. I've currently got a vac fitted and will be having plastic surgery at some point soon... all from flies finding the cut on my leg...
Wont stop me from returning to Manila next year though lol 😆... just take care mate and enjoy!
My first filipina wife came from Naga. She was my karma for me not being good for my first 2 Canadian wives, my forth filipina wife is wonderful, married for 6 years, more wonderful every year.
Once I retire at 50 I will be living a similar life modeled after your adventures. I’m 40 now, Thank you for the inspiration 🙏🏼
Very interesting how you put that sleezy jam band music in towards the end, it made the city feel a bit sleezier hearing that!!!
Hey Scotty. Your are really going deep into the sticks. You would be a great escaping from the long arm of the law. There is no tourism in these spots. Brave man adventuring through all these town. Enjoy the path.
Thank you for giving the old lady a little money. I know how hard it is seeing poverty everywhere and knowing that you can't fix their problems but you helped that lady and made her day.
It's amazing that that's ALL your worldly possessions in a backpack and carry bag! Love these travel vlogs!
Great video and very interesting. You’ve really stepped up your game and it shows!
My my my...... amazing vid on your travels oh great one hahahaha! At least not as rushed like your previous one. Cant wait for the next one scotty boyyyyy!
Sped-up video was like watching Pac-Man munch his way through the grid 👍
Anyway, fate is a wonderful thing and it’s nice to break the journey into these little segments. You never know, it could end up in getting hitched 😊
Dear Scotty, what a wonderful vlog! I’m catching up on your previous travel videos! ❤
Really enjoy the map visuals. I too look them up on google and check out the pictures/info.
Interesting that the small town of Lopez has walkable sidewalks at essentially every block. At Iloilo City, street vendors crowd the sidewalks so much that pedestrians are forced to walk on the road; only a small square of blocks in the city have useable sidewalks.
I got house in allen samar right across highway from the boat ferry u get off! Me and my wife love there..I renovated a house there! Been coming to samar since 2014! Samar is the real philippines!
Thanks for taking us along, Scotty! I've never been to those places but interesting to see! Have a safe journey!
thanks Gary
Loving the tour of the Phil's , bet you will be on 22 k subs by the end of July . From Steve @ valley view
I just love theese new vlogs u started doing. Hope it will come every day. It's my dream to travel like u do 😊
Music layering is pretty good in this one! The slow-motion stuff has firm potential. Keep at it big guy!
When you pass those girls instead of just saying "hi" or "hello" you can also say "where are you going?" then say "okay come with me" haha.
Scotty Boy I really enjoyed this vid. Liked the vibe of the video when you were navigating about town.
Scottie Boy, you are teaching me stuff. I love it. Keep it up and be safe.
I like it when you interact with people.... It's so boring when you just sit there and talk and talk and talk... Congrats on 100,000
Nice complinsult.
Your vid's have shown me that I don't want to move to the Phils. Thanks for saving me a lot of money.
I liked this vid......showed how to filter out for a decent hotel......those little small details are priceless
Great music choice Scottyboi. Grooving to it has me chill.
Scotty Boy is becoming a real explorer. I used to do the same from Thailand to Cambodia to Vietnam. It is a great feeling to explore.
These walking videos are great... bring us more!
Scotty..great video…one tip for you….slow down when speaking to Filipinos…you don’t need to speak in simple ways…you just need to slow it down a bit bro…speaking fast gives them nosebleed…
I think Grandma Lola wanted to invite you to her birthday. I suggest writing some tagalog words on your arm and practice lol
Try Legazpi that's on the way and plenty of hotels there. It's also not far from Donsol where you can go whale shark watching
There was so much traffic and so many people for just a small town.
I was thinking that birthday lady was asking you to buy her food😊. Nice video showing the town and the inner dwellings and living accomadations.
Good vid Scotty Boy. Please start eating better for longer, healthier life wherever you are,…oh you got a banana or 2. Awesome!💪🏽💪🏽
Hahaha the blood on the sheet is a nice welcome card for the next guest lol 😆 was it a cut or an aerobics stain... 🤔😮😂
Thanks for sharing your interesting travel content Scotty 👍
The tricycle guys to agatha were funny 😂 I can understand what they are saying and it’s funny how they sound confused. lol🤣🤣
Not to be a stickler...but you shouldn't pay double, even as a tip. Little things like that all contribute to increased inflation.
Take care, Scotty.
oh yeah on the first ride i didn't know the cost.
Lol I doubt regular mega tip, will have much inflationary pressure on the phil’s 😂…
Awsome scotty i like going to different towns to
Thank you for the hard work You're putting out to make these great videos. It's been 22 years now. But I love getting on the bus and just getting off where it looks Interesting And stay for a day or 2. We'll be looking forward to your next video. 😊😊😊😊
Great one Scott
Like your interactions with people and showing videos
Of philippines
Hydrogen peroxide works like magic for removing those "nail clipper" stains from hotel sheets, saving potential extra charges and awkward moments for staff and guests. You can find it in the pharmacy in a convenient spray bottle sold for oral use.
I think you have the same conclusion as me with your use of quotes. That wasn't because of a nail clipper. Some of us are easily picking up on his code words 😂😂
@@usaalways Some guys know what it is and some guys don't.
Hey Scotty boy 😊 I'll be interested in what you think of the towns in Samar if you are not 'clicking' with the towns you are passing through so far. Perhaps just the country side will make you feel better as the towns in Samar are worse than you seem to have experienced so far. It's the people that make up for it but in my experience, English won't help you much there as you will give most people 'nose bleeds' when trying to speak English there. I was fine as I was with my Fiancee but it may be hard on your own. Best of luck my friend. The Bicol region is on my list of places to visit in southern Luzon so I can't wait....
I just didn't click with Lucena but I like lopez where I am now... next is Naga so we will see how that goes as far as clicking.
@@Regular_Guyph Good to know Scotty. You will be fine then 😉 I'm loving your videos of your trip so far mate. Stay safe.
This was a really good job....thanks for the inspiration
nice production on this one ... loved it
19:46 She was basically asking you in tagalog if you're alone/unaccompanied ("no one with you?").
Interesting way to travel, I would usually just go straight to my destination.
My longest trip in bus from Pasay to San Jose (mindoro) took 14 hours. It's tiring and definitely not comfortable 🤣
Anyway I'm gonna enjoy the rainy season as I'm coming back next month.
I enjoy the speed up walking video where i can see so much fast instead of slow pace
Great video Scotty ... love the small town exploration ... Hah, I was thinking the same thing, how many trikes can one small town have .. like (3) for every person lol
No stranger danger.👍🏽 In America we’re taught from a very young age don’t talk to strangers.
Weird those girls with the dogs were still wearing masks... maybe the dogs smelled?! Edit: heck these small towns make me miss PH! Thanks for the content
Nice.. good info on cheap travel.. and well, well done. The province might bore you.. but it IS a good life.
Love the vid ❤
Seeing you walk on that sidewalk reminded me when I was in the Philippines and had to really watchout not to hit my head.
Great vid. 👍🏻
Scotty.. I love your channel man. I took the bus from Manila to Tacloban City in Leyte .. Then another time I hopped the Ocean Jet from Cebu to Calbayog Samar.. Scott it's a goldmine but it has a weird vibe in Calbayog..
I like the little town you're walking through
Lots of motorcycle. Go to ho chi Minh city. That will blow your mind
Looks like fun enjoy my good man!
Good interaction with the locals...
Your content is unique and one of a kind. Town hopping and exploring places and corners and esquinitas along the way is awesome. Very interesting, informative and educational as well just viewing the videos and casual conversational encounters with curious people. Be careful traversing narrow alleys or esquinitas, some are private properties and they might misunderstood you being there. Guard dogs will definitely bite you without hesitation. Tipping is ok , but not too much, too much genorosity towards beggars or giving money to locals for interviews or for birthday celebrant may have some negative effect in the long run. Like Caucasian man = $ or money.
Scotty showing the real Phils off the beaten path ... keep going! And the girl at 16.20 ??? no talk no nothing?
You’ve got a built in green screen in that room if you want to vlog with a digital background. Green screen toilet paper too, bonus 🙂
Great job Scotty.
I dig your style man.......back in the day you would have been a great hitch hiker ....... also fearless , but not stupid.
I rode in side-cars for 7 years in San Fernando, La Union ...1970-1977
Hey Sir! I had good luck with FJ Manila in Legazpi City and Bamboo Garden in Tacloban (if you go down that far past Samar). Thanks for your "non-libelous " hotel reviews.!
Uncles facial expression when you asking him where a hotel…look like fire & ice lol
Good content as always Scott ❤but I was dizzy 😵💫 as shit by the time I was done watching 😅😅Stay safe Bro 😎
Love the slow motion video feature
Like high speed videos get to see more of town
Unfortunately, sneaky play number 39 is... it is my birthday today, give me money. LOL
Thank you for another nice video. May I make one suggestion? If you "fast forward" big parts of the trip, at least I miss most of the interesting things in them. May I suggest that you play it in normal speed, and if t is too long just remove some parts that you felt was less interesting?
Great video Scotty Boy. Looks like you struck out with the babaroonies though. Better luck in Samar. Happy hunting my friend. I’ll be in Samar with my babe in a week.
No he didn't. That wasn't blood from a nail clipper 😂😂
@@usaalways - Hahahahahahahahaha... are you saying our dear Scotty Boy is a virgin killer?
I like this style of vid Reggie guy!
I hope you like Atimonan Zigzag road. That's where my home town is Sir!
16:21 Facemask Outdoors = Hard Pass. Also we cant have you hung up on the ponty tail of Luzon. Greater things await in God's country of Western Samar.
Hey Scotty Boy - big fan of your work! OK? OK OK OK, :) Are you looking for an amazing person to interview when you get to Northern Samar? Incredible story. Phenomenal Educator. Very interesting family, too. I think she might even invite you and your camera into her classroom. (and the kids she teaches are comfortable enough with her to tease her mercilessly, at times (i witnessed it; It was incredibly charming). If you are interested, please respond, and I think I can set it up for you!
Yes definitely please email me scottcalvinster@gmail.com
Scotty… thank you for your videos… opens one eyes to cultures a lot different than ours… and I so appreciate you opening mine.
May I ask… What kind of camera is that you are using?
It’s obvious that you are not a regular guy, even though that term is used.
I appreciate all your Content and the way you go about doing it.
it’s not easy I’m sure!
Thank you !
By those good lookers rushing by, just start shrieking and close one eye. Tell her your glass eye just fell out and beg her to help you find it.
Scott, enjoyed the vlog! Idea for some sensational content: Visit a destination that has a top medical school during graduation week!
I enjoy your visits to some of the town's. It make me want to go back sooner to my wife home town General Santos. The simple living is the best. It adds years back to your life - no stress.
Oh nice I will be there soon to check it out
13:25; you're a good man Scotty and good Karma comes your way! Appreciate your style.
I wonder if there is a suction cup camera mount you could put on bus window.
make sure to visit scenic and interesting Naga City :-)
i like these vids best, where you interact with the locals and travel roads less traveled.
Okay man I enjoy it too
