One thing you forgot to mention, is that the tripod can drop close to the ground. On each leg there is a blue button, if you pull them out the legs can move out more and can go almost flat to the ground. Also the rubber tips come off exposing points and finally the carabiner and thread go between the legs and threads into the bottom for weight
Carabiner with the mount is for the counterweight, you screw it in on the bottom! I just purchased this for a hiking trip to Banff. I'm using a Nikon D7500 on it and tested the tripod a few times. It has been working solidly and the camera is okay with the extension piece at the minimum setting. Starts to get a bit too wobbly for my comfort at full extension. Honestly a great tripod especially for the weight and for the outdoors.
Yes, thank you. I did figure that out a few weeks after this video. I've used the extension once. I found I can pretty much get what I need without it.
Handy Triod for sure and it looks like the build quality is nice. I use a big camera (Pentax K-3 Mark iii) and a plethora of old glass for night hiking .. I may pick this little tripod up for my day time day hikes, but I'm still searching for a more stable tripod for long exposure night shots. Thanks for the video :) ..
Definitely getting this! Perfect time for my Cannon R50 pre-order. Great video man... Measuring the tripod helps a lot for people looking into this setup. thanks bro
Without the extension piece it's a sturdy as any other tripod I've used. With the extension it's a little wobbly for my big camera but a phone or gopro would be fine.
Mine just arrived. Great little tripod and it just fits in my motorcycle tail bag. It's going to be a great addition to my riding gear as it seems to be very quick to setup up, shoot, and repack on the bike. I'm just using my iPhone camera these days and the capture mount thingy is perfect. Did you notice that yellow round thing in the video ? It's a bubble level. Well worth the price. I would suggest that anyone who is going to buy one to read the other comments because there is no manual and you will learn more here than from the manufacturer.
@Himal Muwanwella there is a link in the description box. I just double checked and the link still works and the tripod is available. Here's the link to make it easier. amzn.to/43e6FLf
Hey, thanks! I just ordered through your AMAZON link. My Siri weighs in at 2 pounds and I only use for my GoPro. SO this is what I was looking for. Unfortunately Tamrac doesn't make the tent pole tripod anymore. That would have been perfect. CHEERS! 🙂👍
Great overview! Under $100 is definitely a solid value for carbon fiber 👍 I don't know if my nerves could handle throwing the Sony on top of that extender piece, though 😂
Awesome product Metro is trying to get me on his new clip one both are very interesting... But that clip makes things so quickly to film and move doesn't work on full sized cameras though...
@@JasonOutdoors YAS! Looks like a really fun crew this year! Fingers crossed for Kaat, that she can get here and they don't restrict her flight. She's staying with me and we are driving down together.
I would love to know the length with the head removed or bent over to the side. I have a bag with an inside dimension of 12" and this may be just about perfect.
With that said, it's missing a hook at the bottom. It would easily blow over with wind which has happened to me in the past. It's also not as tall as I would like.
@@Gadgets20 it does come with a threaded cap and clip that goes on the underside. I didn't have it on in the video but you are able to hang a weight from it for stability. I agree and wish it was a little taller but for what I use this one for its sufficient for me. Thanks for watching.
@@JasonOutdoors Too small. And it's too small on both ends, so the ball head won't screw on to the top end. It's disappointing, as I was really looking forward to using it on holiday. Interestingly, my one came with a carabiner to weigh it down, which I think would've been a useful addition.
@@robiulahmed the ball head has an adapter that screws into it. I'm wondering if that adapter is still on the tripod end and that is causing your problems
@JasonOutdoors I've just checked it. My one doesn't have an adapter. I think they changed the design, but forgot about changing the screw threads on the extension.

the dovetail mounting system is called arca swiss.
Awesome video! One of the few reviews I saw for this. Thanks for showing how compact it is, yet how tall it is with the extension. Big help!
Thank you 🤗. Glad this was helpful.
wow this tripod has all the bell and whistles.. like how sturdy it is

Added it to my cart! I already had it picked out then i watched your video

Awesome👍. Thanks for the support. I think it's an awesome tripod, hope you like it as well.
Great tripod. It beats the weight of my heavy huge one. I like the extension piece it comes with. It's worth the extra 5 ounces extra.
I don't always use one so the size and weight of this was perfect for me.
Thanks for your review. I got one today
Excellent review, just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks for doing this video!
Thank you Steve👍. Appreciate the support.

Thanks.. love it so far. It's doable but yeah fully extended is a little scary for a big camera.
you can attach a mini parachute to your camera or PFD

I think senior uses one also. Looks like a good setup.
@@JasonOutdoors he does Metro I think got him on to it great circle of friends said I'll miss the Cumberland trip maybe next time
I mean, it's superlight (plust it looks like a miniature Gitzo), but don't breathe anywhere near it or you'll get motion blur.
Hello great video! Do you have a link for the extension or does it come with the tripod? Thank you!
Thank you. The extension was included with mine.
Thanks so much I'm ordering now! :)@@JasonOutdoors
Great review 👍
Funny enough, I’m getting this one for my outdoor channel as well. Cheers bud

With the head tilted at 90 degrees it's about 14 inches. With the head completely removed it's about 12 inches.
@@JasonOutdoors Much appreciated.
That's a badass tripod. I just broke my cheap one. Glad to see it has a cell phone mount.
Broke another one? Didn't you break one in Michigan right before we hit the trail?

I use a similar cheaper version. Will upgrade to something like that when I get a better camera. Great review. 👍
Thanks Tom👍
Can you share what cheaper version you use because I am interested!
Nice tutorial! Thank you!
You are welcome, thanks for watching.

Thanks👊
Nice review. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for reviewing this
Thank you 🤗
Super neat
Awesome video
Great pre-use review!
Still using it? Is it stable enough for long exposures?
Yeah, I still use it. I wouldn't trust the extension pole with anything other than a gopro. Otherwise, I trust my A7iv with no concerns.
When ppl use OZ and Inches and then I gotta go to google and convert everything in CM and KG
I feel the same way when people use CM and KG.

@@JasonOutdoors About to find out, I ordered it, doesn't come until next week Friday tho, weird. Thanks again..
I just bought one of these and the extension piece came with the wrong size screw threads. 😑

@@JasonOutdoors Too small. And it's too small on both ends, so the ball head won't screw on to the top end.

@JasonOutdoors I've just checked it. My one doesn't have an adapter. I think they changed the design, but forgot about changing the screw threads on the extension.
Does this work on Canon?
Any camera with 1/4 x20 threads will work
I bought one of these and then ended up buying something even lighter. Granted it was more money but half the weight.
Half the weight?....... I'm interested to hear about that.
11 month later and he still hasn't replied about the tripod with half the weight.
I showed him the tripod in person. As far as I am aware, they aren’t available anymore either.
