    That steep bank is my yard only my yard is an acre. Ordered an FW15 2 weeks ago because of your review. I did order and have received tractor tires for the mower (even before it gets here) because my yard is always moist or wet. Locking the casters seems to make the day for a slope. Ever do a bank like this on a diagonal?

      @@NorthBoroughsLawnCareLLC so for the first run today all I can say is wow. I'm really impressed. Better than expected on the hills I need it to cut. The video doesn't do that hillside you cut any justice. There is one view where you can see you are higher up than the roof of the truck and you can sort of get an idea of how steep it really is. This machine is going to cut so much trim time going forward and with the mulch kit and how good it cuts it will save lots of time over bagging as well. Really blown away, if I had to do it over again, I'd do in a heart beat.

    Excellent video/description on how this particular brand/model handles hills/steep inclines. I have a DR brush mower walk behind, with a 42"floating mowing deck. Assembled, it weighs over 500lbs. My issue is controlling the path of this heavy machine "across" a 30-35 degree hill/slope. It just loves to "wander" Trust me when I say it gives this Tennessee {72yr old} body a work out! I like the idea of being able to "lock" the front caster wheels, that would help me a lot.

  • @firstname6208
    @firstname6208 3 года назад +1

    The reason for the small fuel tank is this engine package was made to fit in a certain size box not just for shipping purposes but also to fit many different machines. I believe a second tank could be bolted directly next to the original tank with proper spacers and longer bolts. A tee fitting and some fuel line would complete the job. You would think someone could mold a bigger tank. The hydro is powered by a belt, a chain goes down to an encased diff so on a very steep hill the high side wheel can spin, stopping forward motion. At that point the mower is close to rolling over, so it is time to dig out the weed eater anyways.

    Toro 30 timemaster will spin uphill wheel and no drive to downhill side when cutting like this which makes it useless to me in my environment. i wish I knew this before purchasing. Gary, The FW-15 is hydro. Each drive wheel is independent, no slipping at all.. The front caster wheels can be locked to point straight ahead. Looking to purchase this mower, at my dealer they have a really good deal on the non caster model, so fixed wheels. Would you say it's worth the difference for caster wheels, how hard is it to maneuver when it's locked? Worth a $1000 difference?

    • @NorthBoroughsLawnCareLLC
      @NorthBoroughsLawnCareLLC  3 года назад +1

      DONT get the fixed wheel version. The mower is almost 300 pounds and unless you really want to work yourself to death turning the thing i would not get the fixed wheel. The fixed wheel is only good on keeping the mower straight on hillsides. You really need the swivel in order to be free, if that makes any sense. I will be making a video here very soon, a day or two showing the wheels in motion.

      @@NorthBoroughsLawnCareLLC okay thanks. Just they have the fixed wheel right now for $1999 (cheaper then some Turf Master) and the caster for $2999. I have the new ones 7.5 amp battery 🔋
    It never bugged or having issues not cut or stop the mower:) has plenty power :) only I have couple problems :(
    1. The mower is too lite :(
    2. the mower is too small :(
    3. A problem with the batteries it freezes or won’t charge and won’t last that long with 7.5 A only 5000 ft.² yards you can cut:( if you have Beautiful grass if not you can mow 7,000sqf yard:)
    4. I have fescue grass I cut like 4.5 inches :) and when I cut the grass front wheels Digs or pushing the grass in and on second day that grass raise up and you can see the stripes tall :(
    5. The mower it’s sow light one pass can float on top of the grass second pass can go down with the same settings you can see the difference :(
    6. The mower is so tiny I have 1600 square-foot yard it’s taking me 1.5 hour to finish with one pass if I’m doing double pass takes over two hours :( and you have to do a double pass because of those stripes :( because of the tiny wheels digs that grass in :( and it doesn’t have an enough suction to suck the grass back out with the blades :(
    7. Not enough RPMs or not enough vacuum to lift the grass up from the ground. :(
    8. The bottoms for self propel the mower it’s too tiny and end of the cutting your yard you have hands Sort they’re too tiny and you have to squeeze your hands tight :(
