I used the big league on it all last year, it made turning quite a bit more challenging. Great results, but without it, the mower is so much more nimble. I don't have very long runs on my property, not sure if I'll be using it this year. FWIW.
Mulch kit is alright, I do get clumping, especially if it's damp, and it's usually always damp here. If I go anymore than 4 days between mowing, my thickest areas have to be double cut. My last mow was 3 days apart and I still had a few areas leaving clumps. How were your mulch blades from factory? Mine were super blunt. I had to take off quite a bit of metal to get them somewhat sharp. The mulch part seemed to be factory at 15 degrees, but the cutting end was slightly different than 30. ( I use the all american sharpener that only has 15/30). After sharpening, cut quality was noticeably better, less tearing, but I've yet to have a mow without leaving trails of clumping.
I freshened up the edge on the new blades, but I haven't sharpened them since then. I have not had any issues unless it's wet or overgrown like in this video. I also keep the deck clean between cuts to help prevent buildup.
Hello, this is my first season cutting lawns, I Just been using an Ariens 21" push mower. Been doing a great job for what it is. Was planning on upgrading to the ferris fw 15, or a stand on mower. In your expert opinion witch one should I go with? I'm really leaning towards the stand on. One more thing. Should I buy it now or wait tell next spring?
Keep saving since the season is almost over and I can't tell you what would fit your business best, but I would get a stander if you have the work to justify it.
I'm upgrading to my first commercial mower this week. I'm trying to decide between this and the exmark turf tracer 36. I love the price of this mower compared to the turf tracer but I'm not sure, what would you recommend?
I am in the Richmond, VA mid-Atlantic transition zone and I mow my tall fescue at 4.5 - 5.0 inches year 'round, especially for best performance during our hot, humid summers.
@@bradprice3661 Good to know. I was looking at this mower as a possibility but was concerned it wouldn't go high enough. I see lots of commercial grounds crews mowing at about 5 inches and the turf looks great.
I am tempted to do the stripe kit mod for my mower. I think it looks better than something hanging off the rear of the mower.

I’m 14 and have a Biz. I just have a Toro 22”. Hope to get one of these soon!
Awesome! Good luck to you.

I’m gonna have to get me one of those instead of a Toro Commerical 30” one of these days
Cut looks great

@@HandyGuy2016 Thank you very much for your reply. I believe I'll be getting an inclose trailer & a Gravely stand on for next season.
@@kevinshorter2632 Awesome! Good luck 👍
Thank you for this information Im Looking At This Mower For Small Yards
I just saw the new toro proline can you add a sulky to this or no? I love both models now such a tough decision
Not sure if you could.
Great video
How bad was the motor bogging down? What psi do you keep your tires at?
No bogging and I honestly don't know what the tire pressure is set at. I have never checked or adjusted the pressure.
HandyGuy 2016 thanks for the videos on this mower. I just got one and am loving it so far.
Is the cut quality worse with mulch kit on?
It's good if you mow every week and you have to slow down some, but that is every mulch kit that I know of.

I don't know anything about the turf tracer, but the FW 15 is a great machine.

I start at 3.5" here in Southern MO, and by Summer I'm at 4.5 - 5 as well.
I also live in Richmond VA. This mower dose a good job at cutting at 4.5-5
