How much butter will I need?I have always wanted to know the technique behind making Carmel icing. How do I measure up for a three layer 8 inch cake?
1 and 1/2 sticks of butter! You can also use 1 and 1/2 sticks of butter for every pan of Carmel you need or to make more Carmel. I use sweet cream butter!
No brown sugar
I add the extract at the end, off the heat. When you add it too early, it can cook out and you lose the flavor.
Thanks Zach, I will try that next time however, mine holds the flavor when I add it in, I use pure extract.
Who knows how much a Stick weighs? Pity she didn’t provide her ingredients and weights in her description box! 🥵
