Lakena Ackerman

South Carolina educator Lekena Ackerman, of Richland District One, shares her joy for teaching history and civics as well as insights from her experience serving as a 2022 PBS Digital All-Star. As a middle school social studies teacher, Ackerman uses historical outfits and colorful wigs to enhance her teaching and help make the learning experience more memorable for her students.
