    I am Amazed how the equipment performs. The amount of work it does. The volumn is unbelievable. Later.

      Yes it is very impressive to watch. This is the biggest forage harvester John Deere makes. Thanks for watching!

    That big chopper for that crop is like pulling a 3 bottom plow with a big 4 wheel drive.

    • @tractorchasers
      @tractorchasers  2 года назад +1

      I don’t think farms would do very well if they bought new machines in a drought to better match the poor crop conditions.

    • @jimpeters7931
      @jimpeters7931 2 года назад +5

      10 isn't close, probably closer to 40. A 15 year old 575 hp uses 22 per hour

    Hopefully they didn't put there little 13.6 in that thing to. Seems like they try to put it in all there machines. And go against the 15 litre Cummins.

    • @dwaynefehr4317
      @dwaynefehr4317 2 года назад +1

      Actually with the technology that can produce more hp then a Cummins with a lot less fuel consumption same as the case 12.9 L and a 700 hp tractor and it has helped out just fine

    • @jasongerbrandt4728
      @jasongerbrandt4728 2 года назад +2

      @@dwaynefehr4317 That's where I would disagree. The 620 quad tracks don't hold out just fine. They take out engines. May hold out for 4000 hours but let's see if it gets to 8-10 thousand hours. Very unlikely. Yes technology has definitely come along way but still to small of a block for that horsepower.

    Didn't know Americans did much grass silage. Interesting to see trucks in the field, that wouldn't work here in Wales.

    Seems like it would be a better design if it could just have a trailer in tow?

    • @briscoesjug1026
      @briscoesjug1026 2 года назад +1

      Realize how many times you'd have to get out and unhook said trailer.

    • @jamesbarbour8400
      @jamesbarbour8400 4 месяца назад

      @@briscoesjug1026 with the tech' available these days, you wouldn't have to get out at all. Just have a hydraulic PUH and a rear view camera and you're good to go.
      On the other hand, with a machine of this insane capacity, if it was towing a trailer, there would be an awful lot of stops for dropping off the full trailers and picking up an empty new one. With the system shown in the video, the chopper can keep going without interruption, with the very large capacity of those lorry dump bodies. Less stopping and hence less wasted time. Very important from the point of view of cost/benefit analysis - that forager probably costs close to a Million Dollars and the pickup header an additional cost on top of that. Need to keep that thing running to the max in order to justify that kind of outlay, moneywise. Would need some serious acreage to cover for the same reason - contract work would be its forte wirhout question.
