IMO Aomway got it right by putting the fan on the bottom, but putting the sd card on top seems like a mistake. Openings on the top lend themselves to catching dust and moisture. Gravity is always working against us.
Skyzone here. Nearly 2years old with no problem ,finger's crossed,
If when they die I'll go for latest skyzone. Nice info here . Cheers bro🤓✋💜💜💜
Good to hear from another Skyzone pilot. ! - Cheers bro let me know. - Justin
Nice video :) Cant wait to see what skyzone is coming with soon. Oleds in the works apparently.
Another thing. I use to have the fatshark dom v3s, and switched to skyzone 01s. Due to two factors. 1. Better blacklevel in the skyzones. Where fatshark show black, you see the object with the skyzones. 2. builtin rx
Skyzone SKY02 is the only one that can take 2 video streams from 2 cameras and 2 video transmitters (actually any will do, not need to buy special combined transmitter or stereo camera from skyzone) and show them simultaneously to different eyes, so you will get stereoscopic (3d) FPV, and it's really work, and it's really cool - especially when you fly near (or inside) trees - you can clearly understand the depth and position of the different branches, no such effect in one camera setup.
Does the newer SKY03 have this feature as well?
I've been wondering the same thing. Haven't been able to find an answer yet. Does the Sky03 still have this ability?
Fantastic aide for beginners like me...very informative.
I don't have a quad. But I am buying a set Sky 03 or commander because of this video. I like quality and options and price is always a factor. I figure fpv would be a good place to start to get into hobby. Thanks for such a detailed description.
Be careful with the Commander V2's. I've heard a lot of complaints of very blurry edges. The first version (early 2018) of the Sky03 had numerous problems too, but skyzone recalled them and did a good job of fixing all the major problems. My vote is definitely for the Sky03, or Sky02S V+ if you don't want to spend too much. Banggood are having a very good sale on Skyzone right now. Best prices I have seen.
Awesome video and thanks for putting out a very detailed and updated video on this topic. I personally own the Aomway commander v1 and Fiysight Falcons and couldn’t be more happy with both.
I needed this VIDEO. Thank you so much for the uploads.
Olympia WA
SKY02's are going for $256 USD right now on Banggood. But I'm going to go for the SKY03's in red...currently $386. Thanks for the awesome video Justin!
hi i have the ev800d for now and planning for fpv googles. shall i go in for skyzone 02 or 03 abit confused
Good overview of some good options. I bought a used set of walkera goggle 4s for my first goggles, and can't wait to upgrade!
@Amatuer Series I too, had those as my first set of goggles, came with my f210. SOOOoooo much difference flying with the skyzones!
That’s a nice looking hat. I don’t look good in baseball hats but I’m not sure that has anything to do with the hats.
I did enjoy the long video comparing all these. I do have one regret though.
I know EV200ds aren't liked that much by many youtubers, but I got mine for like 230€ off BG, with one of the many easy-to-find coupons online, and I think that at that price they should really be more present in comparative videos. Even if they come in as the "cheap knock-off" set, I'm pretty sure many people have bought them or many people may still be interested in that sort of price-range/quality, and/or see how they compare to the bigger names. I could be wrong too...
That's my thought anyway... Not to take anything away from all these great headsets either.
I know why youtubers dont like it that mutch.......eachine dont pay for good reviews.
This man is right! haha and well i had fatsharks hdv2 and honestly i liked the ev200d way more (tried a friends pair) today sold those fatsharks and got skyzones sky03 but still i think the ev200d are underrated they fixed all of the problems mention by youtubers (at least on my friends pair no problems at all they are great)
I know I've heard a few reviewers mention "service after sale" as their biggest gripe with the eachine goggles. On the other hand, Fatshark's stellar customer service is why they feel confident recommending them to their viewers. It's just a better business model to go with higher quality products. (I own Viper FXT's myself, so I'm not biased towards either one.)
Whoooo! Thats the content i like to See :) keep the Work up Justin!!
Damn, that was fast!
@@JulioDoMal just randomly looked up my sub-box and BOOM 10seconds online :)
I went with Skyzone sky02, no hassle with swapping modules and updating them. Was a great decision in my opinion, and i put a fatshark faceplate on it to get a fan, all total $310 with a battery. They do everything I need them to and have a good set of features. I live in Texas and summers here suck, with the faceplate modification I never fog up any more. These are great for a starter, I'll probably keep them even if i upgrade
On a side note when i was trying to decide which to get I noticed you and LeDrib used the Sky02s, I looked into them and the simplicity won me over.
Also I use my 4s 1550 on my goggles all the time...no problems
Simplicity sometimes is king. 🏆
I don’t need a million options myself. Just that they work really good and don’t fail me. Check ✅ Check ✅
Which fatshark faceplate did you use?
I got the Spektrum Focal V2 goggles. First I didn't like them because I had the Eachine ev800 and it performed just fine. When I did the switch it took a while to get used to them because of the less immersive feel to Fatshark goggles.(it feels like you are in a cinema and the screen is a bit further away witch I found annoying. I had such clarity and big immersive screen on the eachine. Anyway, it wasn't until I started flying distances and behind objects or in places with lot of noise(metal beams and walls) where I started appreciate the diversity module on my Focal V2's. They are still bit of a tight fit and takes a little getting used to it but I no more want go fly without them! Reliable and way more compact. I agree, spend more if you are planning to keep them for a good while and they will not disappoint you!
Awesome video, very useful information, plus the custom sky02 looks completely gorgeus, thanks for the contribution at the hobby.
Great video. Its nice to see another thana Fatshark
THANKS! I am new to Fpv, and I want a good, cheap set of goggles. I really appreciated this video!
You've spent half of the video talking about the Skyzone Sky02S Dustin LOL!!! And they very well deserved that haha! Mine have been going strong since the first day I got them. Moving from Fatshark, and then Aomway, I decided to settle down with these beauty. They've never let me down, not once! No screen defect, no dodgy reception, battery cable is very comfortable, rubber faceplate is durable at fits me the most, Great DVR and Scan menu
I'll stick with em until another comparable pair gets release in the future.
P/s: I sweat a lot, but found a way to avoid condensation. Just rub a thin layer of shaving cream (or almost any type of soap) on the lenses or diopters once every 2 weeks and you will no longer need the fan, haha!
Great review by the way Dustin!
Sky02 is the real deal.
Great Info. Justin..next you need to do a video on the best Diversity Antenna Combos like Patch & Pagoda or Helical combo setups for short range racing & high altitude long distance applications, that would be very informative. look forward to your next video. Peace..
Excellent video Justin!! Great comparison of each goggle
What do you think about the fatshark attitude v5. I bought those for my first pair they seem ok. Not sure how they stack up to the other fatsharks
Best reviews by far..... Keep up the great work....👍🏼
I Love my Sky03s. They fit perfect, are soooo easy to use and setup!
Fatshark Dominator V3 many pro races still use them today.
Sky 03 on BG with 48% off until the 11th November should be the perfect solution right now?
You need to look at the commanders V1 again I have a pair the will do AV in and out and have a hdmi mini connection for up to 720p awesome videos my brother keep it it man love these longer ones by the way
At 42:46 you can run anything from a 2S to a 6S on these Skyzones. They go from 7 to 26 Volts. I use a 4S High Voltage (about 17V) Lipo on them and it works fine. These are great goggles btw. I bought them because of this video and also because Le Drib was raving about them and I wasn't disappointed. :)
@ 45:45 you can get extra faceplate and foam inserts as a complete set at Banggood for less than 10 dollars but at the time I'm posting this (Dec. 2018) they are out of stock. Here's the link though: www.banggood.com/Skyzone-SKY02S-V-FPV-Goggles-Accessory-Face-Plate-Sponge-Foam-Pad-Head-Band-Spare-Part-p-1180976.html?ID=224&cur_warehouse=CN
Btw, they're back in stock now. Mine is in the mail.
I use HD3. Awesome video Justin thanks.
I have been using Skyzone v1 Goggles for over 3 years and they still work great. I have tried fatshark goggles but I don't like them one bit. The plan was to get the skyzone v2 's but as long as my original skyzone goggles are still working great there's no need yet. Funny thing when I was flying my dji phantom i preferred to use box goggles. Great review Justin very detailed information for new pilots.
me too.... the skyzone v1 is awesome, I love them.... they fog sometimes but they adapt to any transmitter camera combo I have used.... especially look great with my caddx cams
I got hold of a Fatshark faceplate with a built in fan, I needed to to make a few adjustments but it works great. Just have to connect the balance lead from the goggle battery and your of, no my fog
For all you drone EXPERTS/PROS ,I JUST BOUGHT SOME skyO2s and has no fan can I build a fan into it? And also it was used so I got no wires with it! What wires would I need to fly with my drone?
Thanks for the review 👍 i wait my Ev200d, hope it's a good Goggles ! I think hdo with rapidfire is the best solution but not the same price !
Justin, I took your advise- bought the Skyzone sky02s goggles. They are fine- clearer than my Fatsharks. One problem. I figured how to search fo channel- shows the strong signal. I would like to go to that channel. I have trie up/dn, camera, no way to go to the strongest channel. Sounds dumb, frustrating though- what is up??
Hey Jason. I have a DJI P4 Pro Plus. I really don't like the DJI goggles. And the screen on my controller is too small. Do any of the goggles you mentioned make corrective lenses for Far Sighted people, Like me. I loved flying with goggles. Problem was the screen quality was not that good back then. Maybe it was the transmitter I was using on the Phantom Vision I had. Anyway, the comment I left 2 days ago says it all. What are your thoughts on this.
Oh, how I'd like to spend my limited Data to see, hear, and view today's version of this
How about all the less expensive goggles like the many eachine ones under $100? I’m looking to buy a set of goggles for my f27 evo fpv nose, can’t really find any info on what it actually uses for electronics though so I’m not really sure where to start on matching a set of goggles, I know I don’t want to spend over $100 though
hey i got a SJRC F11 drone and Fatshark Recon V2 goggles. any reason the goggles don't recognize the drone? i've tried everything
Thanks for the great video Justin
Great job man. Good info for folks who need goggle info.
Should have waited a month for the Topsky Prime1S goggles, they're looking to be really good on a budget :P
Nice info & comparison.
Which one is Cheap & Best...light on pocket with good quality...???
The Skyzone Sky02S V+ without doubt. The cheapest and the best bang for the buck. :)
Thx i need this video soooo much.
Hi Justin, nice reviews ! Is it still ok to buy the sky 02 now in 2019 [hopefully not outdated yet]. I'm looking for a pair to go with my Qx7 as my first pair of goggles and hope it will see me thru to the intermediate stage of flying. May I also know how much I need to pay other than the antennas to have a complete set ready to fly. [as in does most quad comes with transmitter already.] sorry for asking so many questions. Tks
Yes I’m still flying my Sky02s goggles!!!!
@@dronecamps nice to know that and tks for yr quick response. I will prob get one soon. Tks. So if I buy say a modula 7 quad, do I need an additional frsky receiver or does it comes with it. I'm looking at either mod7 or trashcan for outdoor flying. Basically, I'm saving up to buy gears one at a time while I'm learning from sim...
@@dronecamps Also I'm far sighted, so do I need additional lens or mods....
Did you ever try the Eachine EV200D?
Fat shark needs competition called skinny dolphin! 🐬
😹😹😹
The sky02 do they fit similar to the fatshark?
how about comparing the sky02s with dji goggle RE if i can get both for the same money? which should i pick?
I bought the Sky02's but the problem is, the edges are cut off by the lenses. my IPD should be around 65 so I thought they would be good for me. I think it's cause I use the widest IPD setting, so my eyes are further away from the screens than people with narrow IPD... which sucks. I have a pretty wide head too, thought they'll fit just fine, cause the only goggles I've heard about the screens being to far away so you can't see the sides of the screen, were the EV200ds I think. those Skyzones also have a dead pixel in the right screen, and when you open these, you see that the right screen was grinded with tools to fit into the goggle housing. I have to press them against my face to see the edges. a loose fit will not show the outter edges of the screen. bought these from banggood, do you think I should try to refund these? Iam from germany btw so shipping will be alot also I have no idea how to show them a dead pixel so they'll see that as a fault
Which FPV Goggles are recommended for use with the NVidia tablet that has an HDMI port, for flying the Mavic Pro?
Update video?
Great vid thank you! No links for #1?
Hey justin any new videos on fpv goggles I am just getting into racing any help greatly appreciated
I've built over 20 top end quads over the last year but have still not got a pair of goggles..
how come? no FPV, or are you just selling them?
why are these goggles at the same price as DJI’s, but the qualities are so different? I am a newbie, after watching this, I decided to have a pair of skyzone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
I was shopping for googles last month. I was about to buy the skyzone’s but I ended up with Fatshark. Goggles should last you a while so I went and bought the best I could. Also, goggles are expensive stuff, and I was worried that buying from BG and have a problem later I would end up stranded. So the option for me was buying from a local shop, that I can reach out if anything happens to my goggles.
Hey Justin let me ask you something, if i try to use a pair of FXT Viper Goggles with my Upair One Plus 4K drone, what will i see thru the goggles, just my FPV thru the drones camera, what about my telemetry from the Upair like Altitude-Distance-Signal Strengh-Drone Battery Power % ect...? i know all the telemetry comes from the Upair APP i downloaded into my Tablet from the APP Store, just wondering if i'm going to see everything i need to thru the Vipers that i see on my Tablet when flying..? Thanx.. for any help you can give.
You weren't clear, why chose the 02's over the 03's? Just for more bang for the buck?
Less $. And they work great.
ok Sky 03 or Aomway v2 (now i have v1 and its quite ok) :D ?
any recommended goggles for a beginner that are less than 100?
Eachine ev800D
I need them that can handle glasses
Thanks for this video!
I like the DomV3 i won from Joe Max f.p.v.!!!
so you would not recommend rapidfire ?
No ev200D?
I just wanna know which one has the best picture
Thanks much for this video, Justin. Can you comment on the fit of the Sky03 goggles? I think what’s out there now is V. 2; the fit of V.1 was supposedly horrible and they recalled them, if my memory is correct. They said they had not taken the shape of Western faces into account in the design. What do you think? Did they fix the problem? I seem to recall that there was a lot of light leak on the sides and that they felt very heavy on the nose. Bravo to them for the recall and for putting out a V.2, by the way.
Yeah they changed it for Sky03 goggles
I love the immersion level my 50 degrees FOV HD2's gives me, although I'm really curious to see what the Topsky Prime1S is like with their massive 86 degrees FOV.
BTW, Eachine VR006 box goggles - not diversity, only one antenna is actually connected internally. One (only?) reason to buy it is if you have a 3D printer, you can print a case to turn the innards into a cheap miniature handheld FPV monitor.
There is a mod to add a diversity module and a DVR to them also.....for 40 bucks they are pretty much the best mini box googles out there
The mushr on the sky02 is a foxeer??
thanx justin
Yes
There’s a link below
Could you possibly do a video on the difference between open TX transmitters with a multi receiver protocol and transmitters that don’t have multi protocol such as Frsky transmitters with their receivers because it seems like transmitters without the multi-protocol module seem, from the videos I’ve seen to have a greater range
The module is six bucks for Frsky. But what's the point of having it? Just to run Walmart drones isn't it? Every review I've read says the reception is crap
Being I wear glasses what are the best googles for glasses ?
Super SXSE Fatsharks and skyzones fit custom made prescription lenses (I think they are around $65, if you have a big problem like me, or you could get cheap -2 or -4 plastic lenses for like 10$. I also saw cheap lenses for the aomways but I’m unsure if the custom made lenses will fit
Good to heard that I'm going to need the goggles but I dont want to go to expensive lol
What about the new Skyzone SKY02C? Has a FOV of 30 Degrees.
I wanna try fatshark style so bad but no one around me fly's really for me to try em. I cant see spending that much without trying it first. Even though I'll never afford it lol I need layaway lol
Correct me if I’m wrong but the largest IPD is the aomway commander 2 at 72 - so why would you recommend the sky zones for “big head” it’s only 69.5?
Because I own both.
I can appreciate that you own the goggles but I doubt that you have a wide face . Unfortunately I do have a wide face my IPD is about 73 and I’ve tried even the commander twos and they need to be wider.
I live in middle of nowhere, wish there was somewhere I could actually try them on. Bought a set of HDs when they first came out and had that crazy blur and instantly regretted it. Been using headplay since, I know there are better out there but not comfortable dropping cash without trying ya kno.
I can get my hands on these lightly used (near new) for $200 ...are theses still relevant now Sept. 2019.
I have been flying with box goggles (ev 800d). These will be my first pair of fatshark.
Cooool...i can't afford any of these 😹
I need one of those goggles! Please Mercy!!
I've got Skyzone 02's and i love them. I've only had them about two months but they are reliable, top quality picture in the goggles and come with built in diversity. You can fit a module to them easily enough if you want to upgrade but for the money i cannot fault them. I had the Eachine V007's beforehand but the Skys are much better for me... One day I might progress to Fatsharks but if you are on a budget like me maybe these are the goggles for you.
The EV200D's beat everything on this table.
What about the eachine ev200d? It's a great price. I know it's over looked because it's from banggood but they are some of the best
Try as many makes/styles/models that YOU as a person can. VERY subjective on how goggles feel/perform for the user. Thanks Justin, Jeff
What irritates me is that they don't make diopter corrective lens for far sighted people. Just near sighted people. I had a set of skyzone goggles about 4 years ago. I made my own lenses from a cheap pair of reading glasses. I know damn well I am not the only one out there that needs reading glasses. These goggle companies need to make these products so people like me can use them.
I was thinking about getting the Aomway commander V2 as my first set of goggles but now I think I might get the Skyzone 02's. Hmmmm.
And I did get the Skyzones. Thank goodness I did. They work very well.
Is the Sharks Universal
I really love my sky 02 v+.. i had an issue with it where the screen just turn black when you plug power, it wont boot up and you have to let it sit like that for minutes unplug and plug the power again then it turns on. Apparently its gone already maybe because i am using it more frequently. Good news is that skyzone already have a solution on that problem posted in facebook group. I have not done it since my issues are gone.
Fatshark HD2 my favorite googles
Yep, the FOV is unbeatable...I have no reason to upgrade. Almost 3 years and counting! I don't care about blurry edges..don't notice it when I'm ripping.
Yep have the hd2 no probs
Unfortunately my skyzones 02s died in less than a week. Brand new too. Screens went totally white, AV out still worked though.
Banggood refunded me in full.
Now have HD3'S and HD2's as back up.
That sucks. I’m still using my Skyzone Sky02s Goggles almost daily now for about a year and a half. Still going strong.
I have Aomway V1 and they're my first set. I don't have experience with others to compare but they are serving me well. One thing I haven't heard from any of the many reviwers I watched before buying, is the stupid joysticks that fsll off very easily. I lost one prety quick, I printed a new one and at these moment In don't have any.
My Sky02 still going strong 18 months down the line.
HELLO Does any one know the best Antenna set up for the xiro v quadcopter
Good video
Man you put your BQE sticker on upside down :D
👍🏻
1 - EV200D
Honesty - Is the best policy...
I'm using the teleporter v3's lol but I'm such a noob I stay pretty close.
Why not Flysight Falcons. They just came out with a V2. They now have separate IPD adjustment. And at under $300, the price is right. Ya you need a module. But that is nice, because you can pick your setup. I got the Immersion rapidfire. It's the best work'in man's setup at $420.
Just came out. We will know if they are good in 6 months after real world testing.
@@dronecamps The electronic components haven't changed. Only the IPD adjustment. I have not heard of any electronic problems. The only complaint was the old IPD single wheel adjustment. And that's the V2 change.
Ive used my mates fg01 they are good but the fov is to small i cant fly for shit with them
@@llickmogan Its a 32deg FOV. The same as FS DomV3. The thing is the Rapidfire module. It's a game changer. I flew box goggles for 2 years. Saw no reason to switch. Then I tried a set of HDO's with the Rapidfire. It made me want a set of goggles. Not because of the HDO screens. But the lack of breakup due to the Rapidfire. I found the Falcon/Rapidfire to be the best setup for me.
Theses are Great but I cant use most since I have glasses.
There are lenses available for this case.
Smoothie FPV yes but those are more expensive. At least the ones I found.
@@smith040296 Something like these? www.hobbyrc.co.uk/fat-shark-goggles-diopter-lens-set
Nobody wants to use special lenses in your goggles, because when you take them off you have to put your glasses back on. And back and forth, back and forth. One off, the other on, that one off, the other back on... better to just make goggles that you can wear your glasses inside of.
Man..... I should of watched this video before I purchased my Far Shark HD3’s. Now I feel I did not make the right choice.
I get them for x mas
