      Marquess Brownlee just did a new Cybertruck video and he gave stats for F150 drivers on how often they tow, according to themselves. They basically don't. Ever. And why would you when you think about it? You bought the pickup so that you can throw stuff in the back easily, and no normal human business owner or not, needs more space than that regularly. If you do, you buy a lorry or other goods vehicle. Who needs the full space in a pickup bed, and also a trailer of some kind on a regular basis? No-one, by their own admission.

      @michaellopez6830 2 месяца назад

      I think they will, the problem could had been being a little too optimistic. Like I'm sure in a perfect world, the battery factory would had been completed way before hand, 4680would had shown progress out of the gate so that by second year around, gen 2 batteries would had been out for Y and 3, covid never happened so no slow downs or economic inflation to happen. etc..etc... in classic Elon fashion, the cybertruck would have been a year late from his estimate call, but it would had Gen 3 cells of the 4680, most likely producing what was promised or extremely close to it. I personally always felt that given the specs of the 2nd gen roadster, in order to hit 620 miles of range, SSD batteries or something equal to them, would had to been created. Because given how much smaller that car is vs a Model S, how would 4680 cells hit that required range or get close. Once covid happen, I think it was safe to say that none of these things would happen at the rate he thought was possible.

    I'm not surprised that the Cybertruck would outsell its established competitors from Ford and Rivian. Since the 70s image has become a bigger factor in truck sales than actual utility, and in the minds of most pickup buyers EVs have the wrong image. With the Cybertruck, Tesla has created a new image that is tough and futuristic and will appeal to buyers in a way that the F-150 Lightning will never appeal. Love the teeny Aptera sticker in the background, Drew!
    This is a useful analysis, though I live in a different market (UK) so these pickups are not really intended for us. I've got to say, though, that a Cybertruck as an IT service vehicle is equal parts brilliant and overkill - it'll definitely get noticed, but there have to be better uses of space for that job!
    I've been in R1T and F150 Lightning (yes, they're over this side of the pond) - the Ford makes the Rivian look small! I know someone who had a reservation down for Cybertruck, before they yoinked it from UK (along with RHD S/X), so I've never been in one. With the Ford and Rivian, the space inside seemed similar, though the outside wasn't, and I thought the R1T gave better visibility from the driver's seat - YMMV, I'm 6'2" / 240-ish lbs. Do you or anyone here have a relative experience between them and the Cybertruck?
    Anyway, thanks for the content, it's always useful to watch 😎👍

GM has no "line"(production) to improve upon as of yet but maybe this Fall that will change. The biggest threat to the extant pickup truck market remains the Ford F150 hybrid in my view for premium buyers. I admire and like Tesla as much as the next EV enthusiasts, and enjoy this channel... However, I always giggle when Tesla enthusiasts covering the EV space throw out the fact that traditional OEMs selling EVs through a dealership network will inevitably have their consumers gouged on price when it comes to low volume high demand EVs, while in the same breath glossing over Tesla's current production volumes + demand, and inevitable price hike related to whatever new EV model they've just launched (as evidenced with the Foundation Series CT)... Right, tomato/tomato 😂😉🤫
    It's the law of supply and demand, and all new EVs are impacted by it regardless of OEM and selling strategy. If anything, I blame consumers and their willingness to buy at inflated prices to have the newest thing to flex with. While I'm happy to sit it out until prices stabilize for new things I want/desire, many aren't, thus inflated pricing for the newest hotness. 🤷🏽‍♂️

      Tesla software plans your charging stops, but if you prefer another it will show how many chargers it has, how many are ocupied, and the time it will take to reach 80% at those chargers.

      Sales are what they have delivered to customers. Currently all deliveries are foundation models which cost $100,000-120,000. When foundation orders cease they will mainly sell the 4WD which after tax credit is $72,500.. By mid next years they will be selling the RWD base model for $52,500. Tesla is very good at cutting production costs so end of 2025 base model could be going for $45,000 and still making a profit. By 2026 they will be churning out 5,000 a week and that will cut into Ford and GM profits. The Silverado does look good and has a huge battery but GM has deferred production. I don´t think GM can afford to sell to many Silverado EV.
