I hear this exact verbal dance “X is really hurting, and yeah Y’s hurting too but Y’s the one who made the decision to end it” around a lot of breakups. I just think people forget that a lot of times Y made that choice because they were suffering IN the relationship.
I really love Tylor’s choice of words, “It took you five whole minutes” is kinda ironic, because it says WHOLE, as if it’s something a lot, while they’re actually just minutes, lol idk how to explain the beauty in that i hope u get it😵💫
One of the greatest reactions I've seen. You could actually feel him feeling this song...he couldn't even stop, and we didn't want him to stop it either! 🥹
I know there will be shock when I say that this is the first time I have ever listened to Taylor sing, but I absolutely love this song. Don't know who Bon Iver is either, but his voice is fire, and together they sound fantastic. Really enjoyed this experience.
I know you posted this a while ago, so I don’t know if you’ve heard it yet. You should listen to The Last Time from the Red album. It’s the same back and forth from this song and still so sad about the end of a relationship. I always say that The Last Time walked sonExile could run lol. So good!
Taylor also wrote a song called Epiphany which is stunning and devastating....So many gorgeous songs on Folklore, and I love these stripped-back sessions.
Bon Iver (ee-ver) is INSANELY famous and talented. Had been for decades. I hope you’ll listen to his stuff as an artist (Justin Vernon) and a PROLIFIC producer.
Tay and her bf Joe are fans of Bon Iver and she wanted him to sing this but didn't know if he would be like "into" the song and Jack Antonoff made this happen. Also, Joe has this deep vocals and made the melody and first verse without Tay being part of this hahaha they are so much in love with each other and with sad songs idk why but it works!
She wrote this song initially with her boyfriend! He wrote the piano melody and the first verse and was just playing it at their house and she heard him and was like “uhm hi hello can we work on this together?” I just think it’s so cool that two people who are in love could write such a heart wrenching breakup song together! Also, Justin (bon iver) helped build the bridge in his style! Very cool collaborative effort to make such a good song.
This song doesn't have a music video. Taylor released official lyrical videos for the whole album. You can give them a try. Both folklore and evermore are lyrical masterpieces 💜❤️
Taylor and Bon Iver (his real name is Justin Vernon) made another song together called 'evermore' from the album 'evermore'. it's not quite the same as exile but it grows on you.
You don't hear Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) sing low all that much. He tends to live in the falsetto range. He's genius. Highly recommend his albums. Nice reaction.
This is one of the most beautifully written songs I've ever heard. I can talk about it for hours but in conclusion, it's a masterpiece. This song got me to check out Taylor's music, I knew she was a great songwriter but after this I felt it with every single piece of my heart. Beautiful.
You're the first person I've seen comment on the call and response between them, I'm obsessed with it. It really sums up why the relationship doesn't work in just a couple of lines. The agony of it all still gives me chills over a year after first listening to it. This song should have won a grammy!
They harmonize so well together. Exile, Evermore and Renegade are masterpieces, they never disappoint when they collaborate, they need to do it again in the future tbh.
Don’t know if the creator will see this but I love your reactions. I’m a 60 year old guy who played in bad bars for 20 years and a 4 minute song can make me feel every emotion that the world contains. This celebration of music that you share here is artful and beautiful. There is nothing like music. It holds everything beautiful.
If you love this, you absolutely have to check out The Last Time Feat. Gary Lightbody (lead singer of Snow Patrol)! It gives the same vibes, same great harmonies, same back and forth. She's also done a second song with Bon Iver (Justin) called Evermore.
At 4:00 when you said, "STOP!" That was a dramatic moment when he started up again with her. Just f***ing amazing. Heartfelt Heartbreaking and genuinely an amazing duet. This particular rendition or version is definitely my favorite. Thank u
Awww you reacted to Exile, it is a beautifully sad song sincerely hahaha, but without a doubt their voices complement each other and it sounds great, one of the best songs on the album
I absolutely LOVE how he takes time to give us his point of view of the lyrics! And how he really appreciates the song. Keep doing what you're doing :)
This song is easily one of my favourites from Exile. Same with Evermore (from Evermore). He has such an incredible range and both songs…chills for days
I've said this many times before, but you totally are one of my favourite reactors, if not THE favourite. You seem to pick up the vibe & subtle nuances of every song you dive into, not just the obvious ones. I usually agree with everything you say - you know how to put my feelings into words. Once again, thank you. (I might even forgive you of not knowing who Bon Iver is.) About the song: I remeber when "Folklore" dropped, and I really did not get the hype. I know Taylor is super popular and gets praised all the time, and I like some of her work, but I think she is just slightly overrated as an artist. I love her persona, the career, the talent and everything, but for me she is a bit too superficial. This song though! When I listened Folklore the first time, this one stood right out. It is the song on that album hands down, and I couldn't stop listening to it. Bon Iver was the perfect artist for her to duet with; their voices complement eachother, and he sounds so honest in this. I believed every word they sang. Definitely one of my favourite tunes in 2020. Great song.
When Taylor released Folklore, this was the first song I've loved. It's the best and Bon Iver's voice is so amazing, no one can sing like that!! and Taylor's voice became deep and sounded so so incredible.
Justin is amazing. He usually sings falsetto which is just as amazing as his chest voice. I recommend checking out some of his work in Bon Iver. Some recommendations: “Hey, Ma”, “Holocene”, “Beth/Rest”, “Skinny Love” (his first hit), or this heart wrenching live cover of “I Can’t Make You Love Me”: ruclips.net/video/Q3VjaCy5gck/видео.html
Bon Iver is a project/band for Justin Vernon, who is a friend of Aaron Dessner. He and Dessner have a joint project called Big Red Machine, which also released an album this year. Vernon did a duet on Evermore (title track), and sang harmony or played instrumentals on several other tracks. So far as I know, he and Taylor have never met in person, because of the pandemic (and her mother's being very high risk from chemo.).
It took a while for Folklore to grow on me since I wasn't that familiar with Taylor's music, but damn this is SUCH a good album😫 You should definitely check Bon Iver's proyects
the long pond videos kinda have an attached like clip where they talk about the song, the meaning, writing or anything really related to the song, it's quite interesting
They couldn't do an official video because of Lockdown....This is the only live performance... This is one of the songs she wrote with Joe Alywn who gave the male point of view. Joe being an actor at a time when the industry had completely closed down...He also co-wrote Betty on Folklore.
There is a reason this song was nominated for a Grammy as best collab. Didn’t win but this song is probably one of the many reasons folklore won AOTY.
Well yes, doesn't stop a mansplainer from mansplaining though 🙄😬
@@pearlobrien5712 I'm confused, what does that have to do with his comment?
This song should have won the Grammy. I am upset it didn't
@@kuivia yea
@@ishita3472 As much as I love Lady Gaga. But Exile should have won over Rain on me.
This song is beautiful and tragic at the same time. So unfair they didn't win the Grammy.
I was so frustrated...I thought that they would win it
politics. quality isn't the priority with them atm
When they used the song in "You" it became so much more tragic than it already was.
This Song is 🔥 It deserved a Grammy.
U mean scammys
It already got a Grammy in duo category.
@@lucifermorningstar7723 it only received nomination..
@@ExtreMe-uk4lm then who won though?
@@lucifermorningstar7723 i think rain on me won
I'm still super upset this song didn't win a Grammy.
One of the most beautiful songs ever!
It feels so universal, that miscommunication that can ruin what should have been a good thing.
lmaoo when u say “woahah stoppp, did u hear his voice in the background” such a mood, love this song😂😂❤️
I hear this exact verbal dance “X is really hurting, and yeah Y’s hurting too but Y’s the one who made the decision to end it” around a lot of breakups.
I just think people forget that a lot of times Y made that choice because they were suffering IN the relationship.

This is my most listened song in 2021. It's obvious the reason why 💔🙌🏼
I love watching him react so amazingly to a song and I know that the best part hasn’t even happened yet and he’s already freaking out!
Reminder this lost to rain on me. Not trashing the song but we will never ever get something like exile ever again.
This song is out of this world, Taylor wrote it with her boyfriend Joe
One of the greatest reactions I've seen. You could actually feel him feeling this song...he couldn't even stop, and we didn't want him to stop it either! 🥹
I know there will be shock when I say that this is the first time I have ever listened to Taylor sing, but I absolutely love this song. Don't know who Bon Iver is either, but his voice is fire, and together they sound fantastic. Really enjoyed this experience.
Aaron dessner (the piano player) is also amazing big red machine is a side project he has with Justin
You should definitely do Bon Iver Heavenly Father. The One to One version is absolutely beautiful
PERFECTION!
Love this song! There is a band called Loveless that did an incredible cover of this song
There is a wonderful documentary directed by Taylor Swift on Netflix about the long pond studio and the making of the 2 albums.
I know you posted this a while ago, so I don’t know if you’ve heard it yet. You should listen to The Last Time from the Red album. It’s the same back and forth from this song and still so sad about the end of a relationship. I always say that The Last Time walked sonExile could run lol. So good!
My favorite
Taylor also wrote a song called Epiphany which is stunning and devastating....So many gorgeous songs on Folklore, and I love these stripped-back sessions.
They did another one called evermore and it’s beautiful
Ears extasis❤
Love your discussion... 😊
Bon Iver (ee-ver) is INSANELY famous and talented. Had been for decades. I hope you’ll listen to his stuff as an artist (Justin Vernon) and a PROLIFIC producer.
You need to know who Bon Iver is!! He is amazing and you are missing out. Love this song with Taylor!!
I like your reaction! its like you want to react but cant
You gotta check out Evermore. It's an even more beautiful duo. Their bridge duet work there is absolutely stunning.
the long pond of this song is honestly so much better than the original
Masterpice
You need to listen to their other collab, last song on evermore album (called evermore)
have you reacted to the august-betty-cardigan trilogy? it’s a teenage love triangle story
Justin Vernon is a god this is just the surface of his voice
I think you should do coney island(by taylor) reaction.it's perrrrrfeccccccct
listen to bon iver. way more. it’s gorgeous. my favorite is the self titled album. justin vernon is king
You have to react to Marjorie on the evermore album
❤️
Probably won't see this because I'm so late but do Skinny Love if you haven't!
i am from argentina and I know bon iver... I mean musicians who doesn't hear about bon iver or jonsi is like wtf
I'm very surprised you'd never heard of Bon Iver...!
Tay and her bf Joe are fans of Bon Iver and she wanted him to sing this but didn't know if he would be like "into" the song and Jack Antonoff made this happen. It must have really helped Joe to have something to work on, during the Lockdown.
Joe and Bon should work together. I'm just saying. Imagine Joe writing and Bon singing, it would be amazing 😭
This song doesn't have a music video. Taylor released official lyrical videos for the whole album. You can give them a try. Both folklore and evermore are lyrical masterpieces 💜❤️
I just imagine the finale of "You" season 3 when I think of a video. This song goes so well when Joe is killing love and framing the story.
I think it would be awesome ifTaylor would do a video of this. It would be heart wrenching. She is so talented.
Taylor and Bon Iver (his real name is Justin Vernon) made another song together called 'evermore' from the album 'evermore'. it's not quite the same as exile but it grows on you.
And they did Renegade together I believe
I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion but I personally prefer evermore over exile lol
Exile=Renegade>>>Evermore>>>>Birch
Didn't evermore get a grammy nom for best song
It definitely grows on you,
You don't hear Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) sing low all that much. He tends to live in the falsetto range. He's genius. Highly recommend his albums. Nice reaction.
Yes would love if he reacted to bon iver
The duo is the most phenomenal collaboration ever happened in history. Their voice with each other were just breathtaking
This is one of the most beautifully written songs I've ever heard. I can talk about it for hours but in conclusion, it's a masterpiece.
This song got me to check out Taylor's music, I knew she was a great songwriter but after this I felt it with every single piece of my heart. Beautiful.
Can't believe it lost out on the Grammy.. At least she got album of the year for folklore
I have never listened to Taylir much. Justun Vernon is from my father family's home town and well known around here.
Love this song.
The way she wrote this sad song with her fiance
I love it too. The cry in his voice is heartbreaking. She is a lyrical genius
this is my favorite song from folkrore and evermore, Bon Iver voice is mesmerizing
Exile and coney island highlight Taylor's lyricism and vocals in such a nice way with justin and matthew's lower vocals its amazing

I'd really hope they collaborate again bc their voices together are literal heaven
oh wow...witnessing someone witness Justin for the first time, moved me to tears. Music is magic & humans are still beautiful. Love this.
I love that Taylor’s partner Joe Alwyn (who is a UK actor) wrote the start of this just playing around during lockdown.
This song is easily one of my favourites from Exile. Same with Evermore (from Evermore). He has such an incredible range and both songs…chills for days
this proves that folklore is taylor's best album vocally

you’ll love evermore ft bon iver too, there’s no video on it but there are offical lyric videos
Omg my top 3 on folklore. It's so so good. MASTERPIECE.
This is the most beautiful song ❤
It’s a good one. Very good
My new favorite Taylor song ❤
My favourite song from the album 😍 This, Coney Island and the last time are masterpieces - her duets are amazing
My two also! Best songs 🎵

You just gained another subscriber! It frustrates me when reactors fail to react to brilliant lyrics/songwriting. 😉
They have other songs together check out Evermore (the song) and Renegade, he also does some backing vocals on some Evermore songs (Ivy)
First time I heard his voice I was like WOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
the long pond videos kinda have an attached like clip where they talk about the song, the meaning, writing or anything really related to the song, it's quite interesting
REACT TO RED (Taylor's Version ) (Vault tracks )
One of my favorite duets of ALL TIME!
I know good and well that it isn't Eddie Vedder. But all I hear is Eddie Vedder...
This and peace are my absolute favorites off folklore. this is a beautiful emotional song
Evermore and Renagade. That is all.
I love seeing someone moved the same way I was when I first heard this song! 10/10
I feel like you'd love The Civil Wars
It actually made me think these duets she has going might have been inspired by them, as well as the general vibe
and this is one of the best bridges I've ever heard
Check out Zayn & Taylor on "I don't wanna live forever"
So underrated! And The Last Time is so slept on
Bon Iver! I recognize that name. "Skinny Love" is a song of his I really love. You can feel the emotions behind it.
Bon Iver is a musical genius. Would love to see you react to his albums
Excellent reaction! I love it!!!
I need to see them on the same stage singing this live like now.
They have (since you left this comment).
I believe in London in 2023. Check it out on RUclips 😁

This song brought me in a different time in my life 😢❤so delicate …
Does this guy not know Bon Iver? Uhhhh
This song is definitely an art ♥️ Please react to "evermore ft Bon Iver" too!! It's beautiful x
