I adore Bryan Norcross , forever be a long time fan from the UK
Bryan Norcross saved alot of lives that night, He was the only one on the silent radio.
i remember getting off work at midnight in daytona beach and sitting outside having beers and barely a breeze. being as i was new to florida, i expected something where i was at.
Sometimes, depends on how big the storm is, just have to watch the radar
My dad wanted to stay and ride the storm out. We used to live on 97th in Homestead almost on the coast. Then my dad asked us what we wanted to do? I told him I wasn't scared and that's when he changed his mind. He said to my mother, my job is to make sure that all of you are safe no matter the cost.
We left out about 30 minutes later. 2 days later we were at New Orleans where we visited family. About 3 hours after getting there, Andrew hit. When my dad and I tried to go back, we were told there's nothing left and that we should turn around and go back. His LT ended up letting us through and that when we got to see that he was 100% right. Our house was GONE. My dad said ok we won't be moving back. We bought a house in Baton Rouge LA.
I rmb him saying if u live in the southern part of Miami Dade County go outside and take a look at your neighborhood bcs after this storm your neighborhood will never be the same
He's talking about the building code and how people found loopholes and inspectors weren't doing their jobs... It amazes me that even in 2024 that still happens, and these cities just turn a blind eye to it.
Humans will 'always' act in their own self-interest. No amount of government oversight will change that fact.
