Anyone reading this should 100% listen to Les Filles de Illighadad’s music. Their album “At Pioneer Works” is insanely good. Kudos to Lala Lala for representing them!
One of the greatest high points of last year for me was getting to interview Lillie. She can nerd out for hours about legions of pop records she loves, noisey deep cuts, and old 7” oddities. She talks about music like a chemist!
The Sebastian Bach episode proves that this is an excellent idea. (At least for someone as charismatic as him.) Maybe harder to get good audio and avoid customers in the shot though.
I’m always impressed when people are passionate about current music. I’m always focused on looking for older influential music, stuff that’s been canonized as “classic” like TNT by Tortoise. There’s just so much new music always coming out, it feels like I’d never be able to keep up with it, so I often wait until the end of the year to see what held up for people and is the cream of the crop. There are too many bands or albums that get a lot of attention at first, but end up being kind of mediocre in retrospect.
I mean ............... Both Consist of well brought up middle class southern Englishman Moved from classic guitar based instrumentation to a more eclectic sonic palette Both experienced ridiculous success with an early single Both partake in left leaning liberal sociopolitical activism ........... However one of these bands did it without sellin out n pandering. The other married gywneth Paltrow n made a fortune outve creating the most middle of the road, mediocre, HR pop, beige melodicism imaginable
Coldplay and Radiohead are the same? Pino Palladino is a sax player? Who will tell her? Radiohead is a progenitor of the industry, creating highly ambitious, trailblazing and protean albums whereas Coldplay was and is still living off of average pop music. And Gwyneth Paltrow married that bloke from Coldplay.
From Lillie: Pino Palladino is actually a bass player! Sam Gendel plays saxophone on that record. Sorry about that!"

The clip sounds awesome, I’m gonna jump in 😍

Great to see more in-store Amoeba videos!!
This is all over the place, I love it
just getting ONE recommendation from these videos is such a blessing, but i basically looked up her whole list of picks.
She just sold me on buying an Amoeba hat. Great, interesting choices.
Lala Lala are amazing. Love hearing their sound evolution over the years. Rock on
Aww this popped up on my feed and I couldn't be happier! I hear Craig's lil chuckle in the background, too!
Watch the documentary on Tower Records last night made me appreciate amoeba all the more
I kinda wish they would let us see the artists walking through the store and making comments. Instead of just showing some clips of it

She needs to take that "Ottaven - End Line" record and put the audio on RUclips. I can't find it. Really interested in it though.
She is lovely 💙,interesting picks too
She is the most relatable person that I'm a fan of musically, but also as a person. If that makes sense.
we need updates on their opinion of the Ottaven record
Makaya McCraven, nice call. Great album.
I like her messy half braided hair.
I love Lillie
Great interesting tips! Almost all were completely new to me.
insanely good
love lillie!
great recommendations
Coldplay and Radiohead are definitely not the same band to say the least,

At 5:13 she turned into Drew Barymore for a moment!
Increíble taste

@@Elixir9 are you ok?
Vegyn is solid
OMG It's so cool ✡🐷!!!
💖💖💖
Pino Palladino is a bass player, not a saxophonist.
That’s a real hybrid Trans Atlantic accent.
Love your Land, La La!
Pino played sax on everything from ABC to D'Angelo...😉
Needs more Slayer and Anthrax
hahahahah! SUNNO))

Чому ти в масці?
she reminds me sade.
Is she British? Her accent is muddled!
Who?
I feel like you should get your money back for that BritNay BS lol but you're too lost in the sauce to care! Random girl says Lala
She seems like an at heart hippy. Is she a hippy?
I will now listen to her schtick. Thanks Amoeba.
She wants to be
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 bam! wow you got her so good wow, this is a most impressive dunk. simply stellar.
Each time she mispronounced Bjork, a fairy dies.😢
maybe i am deaf, but it sounds like she is pronouncing it correctly.
good picks, her music sounds bad tho. Also, Pino Palladino is a bass player, what the fuck is she talking about
Who ?
lillie from Lala Lala, she says on the video
look at this guy! not knowing who everyone ever is! imagine not knowing everyone. wow
