Gateway Drum Smoker - Chicken Halves

  • In this weeks video I fire up the Gateway Drum Smoker and hang some Chicken Halves! Hanging chicken halves in a barrel is my absolute favorite way to cook a full bird! The flavor you get from the chicken juice hitting the coals is absolutely awesome! I used Jealous Devil lump charcoal for the fuel and ran the Gateway at 300 for about 1.5 hours. I rubbed the chicken halves with Tailgaters BBQ Party Rub and gave each of them a coat of Blues Hog Champions Blend BBQ sauce to finish them off! The flavor combo of those 2 things together is real nice and I highly suggest that you give it a try! Don't forget to check out Hiawatha Woodworks for all your custom cutting board needs and to use code "MadHorse20" to save 20% off your order! Hope this video helps ya out and if you really want to see some educational/cool content I highly suggest you check out The BBQ League!
Have a great week everybody! 🍻

Brian I just picked up 2 half chickens from my local butcher. I don't have a drum smoker but my Weber Summitt will do nicely. Probably gonna use some Burn Pit sweet heat on them. Cheers!
