At this point, Yoda was sort of right, all they could do was win the war before it was too late, they can't just dismiss the clone army now. For one, Palpatine obviously wouldn't allow it, but two, as far as the Jedi knew without the clone army they would have no chance.

Was watching The Last Jedi again last night, and the scene where Yoda helps Luke burn down the old teachings (though not really) was the ending of the Jedi Order that had to happen from the prophecy shown here. The two link together very well.
Yes, when I was a kid and watched the clone wars I hadn't watched any of the Star Wars films an so when Doku bowed before Sidios in so many scenes I had no idea who that man with a hood over his head was, I never even thought it could be Palpatine, years later everything cleared for me.

Yoda couldn’t disbanded the clones, the droid army would have just killed the jedi Instead, windu most likely thought that the dark side is trying to influence the chancellor but he wasn’t thinking of the chancellor being the dark side. Ashoka was either too dump to tell anyone or she was smart enough to know that being the chosen one means being the one who brings balance. The chosen one can’t be light and can’t be dark either. He‘s neutral otherwise he wouldn’t be the chosen one but just a normal Sith or Jedi.

@@that-1-boi that's part of why they couldn't have stopped Palps, the Jedi had grown so out of touch with their original purpose and roles in the republic and the galaxy at large, even with their own order, their fellow Padawan's, knights and masters, not able to trust each other fully at times, and with them all becoming generals in a clone army, fighting a group of systems that have every right to leave the republic if they want, the darkside had surrounded and blinded them all from what they truly needed to be doing, what their true path was, and although Palps did manage to place a darkside nexus right inside the jedi temple somehow, the Jedi were mostly responsible for their own downfall. If they hadn't presented Palps with the opportunity to place that nexus, or put them in a manufactured war, they wouldn't have been in that position, and that opportunity came with their growing pride and self imposed faith that no matter what, the jedi always do the right thing, because as soon as the good guys start to think they are the best people ever, unassailable and never in the wrong, they have only just begun their long track of losing

That was the genius in Sidious plan. He knew the Jedi were too trusting and that over time they would come to rely on the Clones, then when Order 66 came in, they were stunned and overwhelmed.
Brilliant scene. The 'join me... there is no other way' part sends shivers and you get a full sense of the evil, power and manipulation of Darth Sidious in that one phrase.
Count Dooku told Obi-Wan everything about Order 66 on Geonosis way before the clone wars started but chose to believe in politics. Anakin could’ve stopped it but his mind was erased which was kinda stupid for “The Father” to do. Yoda could have stopped it too but choose to ignore it which was the dumbest thing ever especially for a grand master🤦🏾♂️
Lord Fader Ahsoka was innocent, Admiral Tarkin accused her for treason no lack of evidence against ahoska. The jedi order agreed to expell her and nearly execute her then they invited her back when they were the ones who betrayed her trust. Anakin was the only one on her side.
I've seen this scene many times. And every time when it plays the music from The Phantom Menace as Qui Gon Jinn speaks to Yoda makes me cry. The fact that they got Liam Neeson to do it seals it for me.
It is quite nice! It's a shame we don't get to see him use it again. Rather disappointed with how little of the ep 3 style fighter we see throughout the series.
People wonder why Yoda never heed these cave visions? But, what did exactly did Yoda see? Jedi Knights like Kenobi or Windu attacking some clones, the cloaked figure of Sidious and the feeling that the Order will end. Plus, Qui-Gon did tell him that there is always hope thus the Jedi can prevail. Yoda still believed that it was an "us vs them", when in reality, the evil resided within their own Jedi Order, Anakin/Vader.
Remember, Sidious had the ability to selectively cloud the vision of whomever he pleased. Yoda was supposed to be one of his biggest fears. So when everyone hates on Yoda and says he was ignorant, keep in mind he was the main target of a large ammount of Dark energy specifically used to block his foresight. This arc actually made me respect and feel for him a lot more.

Um it did not show nor say the Jedi were corrupt in the dark side. If anything Anakin had stints. The whole point was the Jedi restricted the force by limiting those who trained to use. The Sith largely are small in numbers and not wildly wielding the other extreme use of the force. He did not have to accept the vision. Yoda is often weak in that way he goes its the will of the force. Half of the clone wars was the force trying to get Yoda to change the Jedi order to be more like grey Jedi in training. Qui Gon was able to handle both sides of the force equally. The fault of the Jedi order was restricting the force.

Everyone talks about how obvious Palpatine and Order 66 should have been, but we have the benefit of knowing all the details at all times, and knowing how it all turns out. Yeah, Dooku told Obi-Wan about Palpatine on Geonosis, and then he proceeded to massacre most of the Jedi, nearly kill Obi-Wan, cut off Anakin's arm, and flee to take command of the Separatists fighting a war against the Republic. It's pretty understandable that the Jedi wouldn't trust a word that their greatest enemy said. As for Palpatine, as far as the Jedi could tell, he was a cunning and greedy politician who was trying to hold on to power as long as he could. They didn't trust him, and they were starting to figure it out (hence having Anakin spy on him), but it was too late. Palpatine was a master of the dark side and was able to stay hidden long enough for the damage to be done. Like other people have said, this vision only shows Yoda WHAT happens, not how or when it happens. All the Jedi can do is focus on ending the war, and stay alert. Unfortunately for them, this comes from the least expected source (Anakin and their own soldiers). So yeah, Order 66 and Palpatine seem really obvious when you know the whole story and have all the facts, but the characters in the story don't, so I think it's pretty understandable they were so surprised by it.
I'm still loving the fact that Qui-Gon Jinn ends up being Master Yoda's Master, Qui-Gon always did what the Force told him and refused a seat on the council, in that he uncovered knowledge far greater than Yoda ever could, message: You can be wise, but somebody will always know more than you do
He has the vision of the jedi massacre, he heard the Jedi master Qui-Con confirmed it, and yet he didn't do anything to stop it from happening. And they say that Yoda is the wisest from all the Jedi.
Except he did try and stop it, he hoped that they could end the war before Sidious' plans came to fruition, and Revenge of the Sith showed us that the Jedi kept trying to look for Sidious after these visions. They simply failed to stop it because this vision didn't show him any new information that he could act upon.
The Jedi weren’t meant to fight in the clone wars, since they were peace keepers. They have signed their death warrant in the minute that they joined the clones.
I wish they used what Yoda stated to Luke. Luke: "Is the dark side stronger?" Yoda: "No, no." "Easier and more seductive." The dark side is not strogner, it is just easier to use and more seductive.
Although I love the Clone Wars and it'S a great tv show, best thing that ever came out of the Star Wars Franchise since the Original Trilogy, I feel one of the problems of the Clone Wars for was that for some reason they tried several times to show us the events of the prequels by allowing the characters to either see or experience what ultimately will happen to them but not yet, only for them to either forget what they saw or dismiss it as just a vision or just a potential future. I don't understand why Yoda never acted or even thought about telling all this to someone
This was really the only time that they tried to give a glimpse of what would happen during Revenge of the Sith. This vision really didn't tell Yoda anything new as by this point they had learned that the Clones were created by the sith and that Sidious was out there. This vision didn't tell him when, where, or how this would come about and so he was powerless to stop the sith's machinations as they had already grown too far to be stopped. This is why at the end of this arc he tells Obi-Wan and Mace that they have already lost but must focus on finding victory not in the Clone Wars but for all time.
The reason yoda didn’t stop it is because qui gon told yoda to not tell anyone and he also didn’t know why it happens and he also realized that it might have to Happen and also, he probably thought it was a possible future because the future is always in motion.
I think everyone agrees there. But LucasFilms wanted to make a reasonable story line. To be honest, however, it really wasn't. Along with that, Anakin should've noticed he was being swayed back Palpatine.

What the EU and shows like clone wars, rebels and now the mandalorian have taught us is: that movies are a poor medium for SW to develop, it needs time and exposure to be as efective. The movies aren't bad or anything they just can be so much more without the time constraints.
I agree in the main. Some of the films are great, but given time with a proper series, the stories and lore can grow. However I liked the scene in The Last Jedi where Yoda reappears to help Luke burn down the old shrine, as imo, that is the final ending to what we see here in the prophecy. The old order shall die, and darkness will come, but there is always hope.

Well, Star Wars movie are born as fables (even the sequel, bad-written fables but always fables). Vader is the Dark Knight/Black Knight, Palpy the Evil Wizard/Sorcer/Warlock, Luke the young farmer that become a knight, Yoda a fairy/pixie ally of the hero, Obi Wan a wizard/fairy Godfather figure.

Everyone forgets that order 66 and the fall of the republic was going to happen no matter what from that point forward. No matter what Yoda does no one can change prophecy, the only thing that can change are the actions that lead up to the prophecy being fulfilled. Yoda knew this and he knew nothing could change the future.

Let me explain, the Jedi never knew that Palpatine was the Emperor. They were caught off guard when the clones attacked like you saw in the Jedi purge in Revenge of the Sith also since the attack was led by Anakin it made it worse for them because Anakin is the strongest Jedi there ever was. Plus the Outer Rim sieges made the jedi few and far between, and Palpatine had such a good reputation and character in the Republic that all that time the Jedi suspected Mas Amedda or some other of his advisors of being Darth Sidious

Obi-Wan could never match him in force ability, but he was a masterful swordsman, and a true perfect Jedi in that he was reasoned, judged situations accordingly, even when he was beaten, never once was tempted by the dark side and stuck to the path of the light. Thats what made Obi-Wan stronger, for me, at that time. I don't need to go into Yoda's insight, and abilities though I'm sure.
well, they were clouded by their own arrogance and by the dark side that Palpatine represented. They could never expect that a Sith Lord was right under their noses, and also the Council was already doomed to fall since they got involucrated in the wars.
I always wondered why at the end of the season, Yoda told the others he didn't discover anything significant. I could only come up with this explanation: When he saw all this, this was a vision of a possible future. He cautioned Anakin about sensing the future, yet it seems the Jedi policy towards these visions is to take no action because doing so might cause the vision to occur. That's what happened to Anakin in ROTS, so in a way the policy was sound. At the same time, though, considering the vision he saw, he could have done something. Taken some action. But I think he was finally beginning to acknowledge that Qui-Gon and Dooku had been right about the Republic and the Jedi Order all along. He admitted at the end of this arc that he was no longer certain the way the Jedi were doing things would lead to victory. Yoda had been shown a glimpse of a different course they could have taken. Something that would have allowed the Jedi to win the war and avoid Order 66. But he needed time. Time to fully understand what the Priestesses were showing him. Time for him to learn from Qui-Gon. Unfortunately, Palpatine had begun his endgame, and the Jedi were force to play the roles Palpatine had set up for them to play. Maybe Yoda still thought he could continue traveling down the path he had traveled all his life and defeat Palpatine. But when he faced Palpatine, as it said in the novel, he realized the terrible truth that he never had what was needed to defeat Palpatine. He and the other Jedi were more than capable of defeating the Sith as they were a thousand years ago. But the Sith had changed and become something new, while the Jedi remained the same. It was only at the end, when the Jedi were defeated and "seemingly relieved" of their obligations and duties to the Republic and the galaxy that Yoda, and eventually Obi-Wan, were able to learn the lessons and be in a position to guide Luke to victory.
So to all the people judging Yoda for not doing enough, what exactly could he have done to save the order? They where fucked either way and the only thing he could do was become part of the force after death, therefore solidifying the victory of the light side.
So Yoda had a warning about the fall of the Jedi a warning which was clear and not cryptic and yet the Jedi were still wipe out? So yeah the Jedi are bloody idiots.
Actually this explanation shows that yoda wasn't told when it would happen but that it had to happen due to the jedi forgeting their purpose as peace keepers and needing to balance the force out
@@mergeads for all yoda knows the jedi are mowing down troops as aggressors, not defending. Those Jedi were kicking Clone ass, not being shot from behind. The engagement with the Sith lord could also be interpreted as a focused attack, again by the Jedi. Bloody for them, yes, but Yoda can see all of this as being proactive. Not to mention later he sees himself and Anakin escorted by Clones against Sidious and Dooku...the picture is nowhere near accurate, and probably intentionally so in universe.
Obvious plot hole is why didn't Yoda warn all the other Jedi of their impending doom? He probably did. The crucial detail left out in his vision of course was that it was Palpatine and the clones that were responsible for it. The Jedi likely knew that trouble was ahead and did all they could to prepare for it, but ultimately didn't expect it to come from behind them.
The Jedi already knew that they were in a precarious situation after learning that the clones were created by the sith. They kept trying to find Sidious and end the clone wars as quickly as possible in order to stop Sidious but ultimately failed. Nothing in Yoda's vision could've prevented that.
Yoda literally knew what was gonna happen since the start of the clone wars, yet he let it happen, enabled it even. And when it happened, went to chill with the wookies
The animators got Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar mixed up. They're both Zabrak Jedi Masters but Agen has darker skin and a blur lightsaber. He was the one killed during Palatine's arrest. They showed Eeth Koth getting killed in Yoda's vision instead since they already had a mode for him from the Grevious Intrigue episode

That was the genius in Sidious plan. He knew the Jedi were too trusting and that over time they would come to rely on the Clones, then when Order 66 came in, they were stunned and overwhelmed.

Count Dooku told Obi-Wan everything about Order 66 on Geonosis way before the clone wars started but chose to believe in politics. Anakin could’ve stopped it but his mind was erased which was kinda stupid for “The Father” to do. Yoda could have stopped it too but choose to ignore it which was the dumbest thing ever especially for a grand master🤦🏾♂️

But, what did exactly did Yoda see? Jedi Knights like Kenobi or Windu attacking some clones, the cloaked figure of Sidious and the feeling that the Order will end.
Plus, Qui-Gon did tell him that there is always hope thus the Jedi can prevail.
Yoda still believed that it was an "us vs them", when in reality, the evil resided within their own Jedi Order, Anakin/Vader.

Remember, Sidious had the ability to selectively cloud the vision of whomever he pleased. Yoda was supposed to be one of his biggest fears. So when everyone hates on Yoda and says he was ignorant, keep in mind he was the main target of a large ammount of Dark energy specifically used to block his foresight. This arc actually made me respect and feel for him a lot more.

Um it did not show nor say the Jedi were corrupt in the dark side. If anything Anakin had stints. The whole point was the Jedi restricted the force by limiting those who trained to use. The Sith largely are small in numbers and not wildly wielding the other extreme use of the force.
He did not have to accept the vision. Yoda is often weak in that way he goes its the will of the force. Half of the clone wars was the force trying to get Yoda to change the Jedi order to be more like grey Jedi in training. Qui Gon was able to handle both sides of the force equally. The fault of the Jedi order was restricting the force.

Everyone talks about how obvious Palpatine and Order 66 should have been, but we have the benefit of knowing all the details at all times, and knowing how it all turns out. Yeah, Dooku told Obi-Wan about Palpatine on Geonosis, and then he proceeded to massacre most of the Jedi, nearly kill Obi-Wan, cut off Anakin's arm, and flee to take command of the Separatists fighting a war against the Republic. It's pretty understandable that the Jedi wouldn't trust a word that their greatest enemy said. As for Palpatine, as far as the Jedi could tell, he was a cunning and greedy politician who was trying to hold on to power as long as he could. They didn't trust him, and they were starting to figure it out (hence having Anakin spy on him), but it was too late. Palpatine was a master of the dark side and was able to stay hidden long enough for the damage to be done. Like other people have said, this vision only shows Yoda WHAT happens, not how or when it happens. All the Jedi can do is focus on ending the war, and stay alert. Unfortunately for them, this comes from the least expected source (Anakin and their own soldiers).
So yeah, Order 66 and Palpatine seem really obvious when you know the whole story and have all the facts, but the characters in the story don't, so I think it's pretty understandable they were so surprised by it.
I'm still loving the fact that Qui-Gon Jinn ends up being Master Yoda's Master, Qui-Gon always did what the Force told him and refused a seat on the council, in that he uncovered knowledge far greater than Yoda ever could, message: You can be wise, but somebody will always know more than you do

He has the vision of the jedi massacre, he heard the Jedi master Qui-Con confirmed it, and yet he didn't do anything to stop it from happening.
And they say that Yoda is the wisest from all the Jedi.
Except he did try and stop it, he hoped that they could end the war before Sidious' plans came to fruition, and Revenge of the Sith showed us that the Jedi kept trying to look for Sidious after these visions. They simply failed to stop it because this vision didn't show him any new information that he could act upon.

Although I love the Clone Wars and it'S a great tv show, best thing that ever came out of the Star Wars Franchise since the Original Trilogy, I feel one of the problems of the Clone Wars for was that for some reason they tried several times to show us the events of the prequels by allowing the characters to either see or experience what ultimately will happen to them but not yet, only for them to either forget what they saw or dismiss it as just a vision or just a potential future. I don't understand why Yoda never acted or even thought about telling all this to someone
This was really the only time that they tried to give a glimpse of what would happen during Revenge of the Sith. This vision really didn't tell Yoda anything new as by this point they had learned that the Clones were created by the sith and that Sidious was out there. This vision didn't tell him when, where, or how this would come about and so he was powerless to stop the sith's machinations as they had already grown too far to be stopped. This is why at the end of this arc he tells Obi-Wan and Mace that they have already lost but must focus on finding victory not in the Clone Wars but for all time.
The reason yoda didn’t stop it is because qui gon told yoda to not tell anyone and he also didn’t know why it happens and he also realized that it might have to Happen and also, he probably thought it was a possible future because the future is always in motion.

What the EU and shows like clone wars, rebels and now the mandalorian have taught us is: that movies are a poor medium for SW to develop, it needs time and exposure to be as efective. The movies aren't bad or anything they just can be so much more without the time constraints.
I agree in the main. Some of the films are great, but given time with a proper series, the stories and lore can grow. However I liked the scene in The Last Jedi where Yoda reappears to help Luke burn down the old shrine, as imo, that is the final ending to what we see here in the prophecy. The old order shall die, and darkness will come, but there is always hope.

Everyone forgets that order 66 and the fall of the republic was going to happen no matter what from that point forward. No matter what Yoda does no one can change prophecy, the only thing that can change are the actions that lead up to the prophecy being fulfilled. Yoda knew this and he knew nothing could change the future.

Let me explain, the Jedi never knew that Palpatine was the Emperor. They were caught off guard when the clones attacked like you saw in the Jedi purge in Revenge of the Sith also since the attack was led by Anakin it made it worse for them because Anakin is the strongest Jedi there ever was. Being caught off guard in different places like The Jedi Temple, and other places (Don't know how to spell them) so just chill
Plus the Outer Rim sieges made the jedi few and far between, and Palpatine had such a good reputation and character in the Republic that all that time the Jedi suspected Mas Amedda or some other of his advisors of being Darth Sidious

Obi-Wan could never match him in force ability, but he was a masterful swordsman, and a true perfect Jedi in that he was reasoned, judged situations accordingly, even when he was beaten, never once was tempted by the dark side and stuck to the path of the light. Thats what made Obi-Wan stronger, for me, at that time. I don't need to go into Yoda's insight, and abilities though I'm sure.

well, they were clouded by their own arrogance and by the dark side that Palpatine represented. They could never expect that a Sith Lord was right under their noses, and also the Council was already doomed to fall since they got involucrated in the wars.

I always wondered why at the end of the season, Yoda told the others he didn't discover anything significant. I could only come up with this explanation:
When he saw all this, this was a vision of a possible future. He cautioned Anakin about sensing the future, yet it seems the Jedi policy towards these visions is to take no action because doing so might cause the vision to occur. That's what happened to Anakin in ROTS, so in a way the policy was sound. At the same time, though, considering the vision he saw, he could have done something. Taken some action. But I think he was finally beginning to acknowledge that Qui-Gon and Dooku had been right about the Republic and the Jedi Order all along. He admitted at the end of this arc that he was no longer certain the way the Jedi were doing things would lead to victory. Yoda had been shown a glimpse of a different course they could have taken. Something that would have allowed the Jedi to win the war and avoid Order 66. But he needed time. Time to fully understand what the Priestesses were showing him. Time for him to learn from Qui-Gon. Unfortunately, Palpatine had begun his endgame, and the Jedi were force to play the roles Palpatine had set up for them to play. Maybe Yoda still thought he could continue traveling down the path he had traveled all his life and defeat Palpatine. But when he faced Palpatine, as it said in the novel, he realized the terrible truth that he never had what was needed to defeat Palpatine. He and the other Jedi were more than capable of defeating the Sith as they were a thousand years ago. But the Sith had changed and become something new, while the Jedi remained the same. It was only at the end, when the Jedi were defeated and "seemingly relieved" of their obligations and duties to the Republic and the galaxy that Yoda, and eventually Obi-Wan, were able to learn the lessons and be in a position to guide Luke to victory.
So to all the people judging Yoda for not doing enough, what exactly could he have done to save the order? They where fucked either way and the only thing he could do was become part of the force after death, therefore solidifying the victory of the light side.

Well, in season 7 we did..
Obvious plot hole is why didn't Yoda warn all the other Jedi of their impending doom? He probably did. The crucial detail left out in his vision of course was that it was Palpatine and the clones that were responsible for it. The Jedi likely knew that trouble was ahead and did all they could to prepare for it, but ultimately didn't expect it to come from behind them.
He likely just wanted to let the prophecy of the chosen one to happen,if you change something you might make a worse future after all.
The Jedi already knew that they were in a precarious situation after learning that the clones were created by the sith. They kept trying to find Sidious and end the clone wars as quickly as possible in order to stop Sidious but ultimately failed. Nothing in Yoda's vision could've prevented that.

The animators got Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar mixed up. They're both Zabrak Jedi Masters but Agen has darker skin and a blur lightsaber. He was the one killed during Palatine's arrest. They showed Eeth Koth getting killed in Yoda's vision instead since they already had a mode for him from the Grevious Intrigue episode
Eeth koth dies the same sasie tinn is cut all the way through kit doges and backflips over audios lightsaber 2 times then gets slashed after trying to strike . Nice to see they changed their depths :)
