I remember being absolutely blown away by the OST for the chasm surface, and would pause my character in-game just to listen to each track in full. What a perfect homage to Chinese culture that also plays ideal transition to what lies deeper below.
Love how well it fits in with the previous Liyue music as well. You wouldn't be able to guess that 1.5 years have passed between this album and the rest of Liyue's soundtrack.
Wandering Clouds is an absolute masterpiece. I can't believe how good it is. If I close my eyes, I can imagine myself sitting on the grass up high in Glaze Peak, the soft breeze brushing my hair out of my face. I can hear the eagles soaring above, and the Millelith soldiers marching on patrol. It makes me nostalgic for some reason.
I think this song was heavily inspired from traditional folk music, at least the first half is with the use of strings. Which meant to represent a country living vibe, green grass feel. Then combined with traditional Chinese instruments in second half. It’s a banger music piece. My fav one too.
By the end, this game will have the most diverse and legendary soundtrack in history. Seriously, already nothing comes close to Genshin's music. Gigachad Hoyo-Mix and Yu-Peng Chen.
Its hard to choose what's the best Genshin OST, in earlier I'd pick Liyue over Mondo, but then Golden Apple Archipelago appered, then Inazuma, then Enkanomiya, everytime a new region released the OST blew me away. Being a solitary person in late 30s who live with an elder cat, I always has a soft spot for the subtle hint of loneliness in each region music. Best wishes to HOYO-MiX team!
I adore The Chasm's music. It just fits Liyue so well, and absolutely screams Zhongli on so many of the tracks. It's melancholy, it's calming, it's gorgeous, and fits Chinese culture so well. Absolutely amazing.
The Chasm's OST gives me the vibes of being a hero visiting a land they defended unreservedly long ago. A kind of nostalgia from that which is yet an unfamiliar experience. A masterpiece well-made by the composers of GI's music, as always.
I'm Chinese but not actually born in china but this pieces literally give you a vision about china about homeland that you missed so much there's also nostalgic vibe in it. imagine living in the countryside somewhere in china, where this place has a lot of mountains field of tea, field of rice, nice neighbourhood with an amazing family
Wordless Cliffs. IM SO GLAD I GOT THE NAME. This is the first theme I heard when I entered the Chasm and it has been one of favourites ever since. Hoyoverse never fails to impress, thanks Genshin!
There were 60 tracks for the last one for Watatsumi, Seirei, Tsurumi, and Enka plus boss and Enka battle themes. It’s crazy how they’re able to make all these tracks, but Chasm gets a whole 40 tracks all to itself. It’s so good
Still remember exploring the Chasm for the first time, amazed by the mountains and stuff, then discovered the underground is 10 times larger than the surface area. I was like, wait what there's more!?
Wandering Clouds is one of my favorite tracks in the whole game. It makes me feel at peace yet also reminiscent on days gone by, a celebration of a life well lived but also the inevitable sadness that comes with having to part from your loved ones. Genshin Impact's OST never disappoints!
This sums it up wonderfully. It’s this odd mixture of emotions that perfectly fits with the theme of the Chasm; they won the fight but countless lives were lost, it’s like an ode to the warriors, a farewell and a thank you.

Wandering Clouds, this piece man ... nostalgic for some reason and bittersweet ... me and my brother would often find ourselves having long conversations with our dad about our ancestors, about our grand-grandparents and their lives ... we talking about people from a village that experienced world wars, poverty but also lived in a community rich of tradition and culture, and the thought that we the young generation will never get to meet this people, never get to see how they lived ...its kinda sad ... one time our dad mentioned how the old generation of the village had very beautiful and meaningful wedding songs as well as wedding dances and how no one is gona remember them and they gona be lost forever, even my dad could only remember bits and pieces from his childhood ... it made me so sad ...this song brings back those feelings ... feelings of having lost something ... listening to the song while writing this nearly brought me to tears ... respect mhy! amazing work!
“Wandering Clouds” is my new favorite track in the entire game. It has that “traveler’s nostalgia” tone to it, like it’s the soundtrack that plays when the protagonist is walking in a vast area of beautiful landscapes and the camera pans out showing how small they are compared to the huge, majestic world that is out there.
Solitary Stray Bird was absolutely beautiful I cannot explain how much I loved the whole ost for the chasm but Solitary was my favorite because it felt so peaceful like you truly felt free.
I remember when my character finished climbing one of the cliffs surrounding the Chasm and "On the Vast Earth" was playing just as the Chasm came into view for the first time. I was stunned with the beauty of it all.
Congrats Genshin and HOYO-MIX for your soundtracks, really, I use them for everything in my life. They are so inspirational, emotional, happy, sad sometimes... You guys are doing such a great job with your soundtracks! The game would be nothing without the amazing songs you guys compose.
I almost passed out on "Solitary stray bird"... The whole OST is absolutely magnificent but that one track hit straight to my heart's depth. Pure beauty. Congratulations to all the composers, musicians and everyone involved, what you do is indescribable
i'm in love with Wandering Clouds track. The only thing Chasm is missing when playing this track is goats and sheeps wandering around, it is so peaceful...

I climb to the top of cinnabar cliff, and set a waypoint at the peak. Change the time to sunset, watch the beautiful scenery and listen to the calming music, close my eyes and meditate. The environment is stunning and the music is an absolute masterpiece.
Wandering Clouds is my favorite ost by far. It’s so nostalgic to me it reminds me of the time before my local area got urbanized and used to be just fields of cattle and hay. Waking up early with a cup of coffee in hand to see the rising sun the cool fresh air in the wind a sense of peace I’ll never get back. Makes me want to cry
One of the reasons why I love this game so much is it's collection of nostalgic, heart-stirring, enchanting music. I remember just letting my characters sit or stand idle at every new area and listen to the different bgms... These OSTs are healing to one's heart and soul...
Chasm's surface for me has, till today, one of the best soundtracks. I can't explain how fitting they are for the area, how even with just listening to them I go back to the cliffs and red trees. It feels ancient, a warm embrace of a wise person passing down some importante lessons for your life. I can imagine myself every single time on top of the cliffs, watching the sunrise, the land beginning to fill with light, the wind in my hair and the warmth. It makes me cry every single time, specially "Under the Clear Sky" (05:31).
As the day dawns with hope Under the shimmering haze of the Sun My words become a lone bird Soaring in the wild skies Even as the dusk falls into the arms Of the night With the moon's longing gaze For a letter Maybe a soft lullaby I have promised to sing And write I'll hold you in the depths Of memory I'll fade with you and leave All else as my sign (as soon as I heard "Wordless Cliffs" I knew, I had to write a poem...so this is just me doing what I do best when I'm inspired!)
Im always play genshin instrument in my office, and this new instrument automaticly added to my lists, so calming, soothing, and relaxing, and for sure increase focus, positive vibes and productivity on my work Thx Hoyo Mix, standing ovation for this awesome work 🙏👍👏
I found Chasm musics very unlike other more intense soundtracks in the way that, musics in other places are usually immediately attention-grabbing and are most impressive the first few times listen to them, and the impressive-ness decays slowly as the melodies become familiar, Chasm was the opposite, I was fairly unimpressed the first time when I was doing the Chasm quests, but a few months later when I returned to clear the chests, the more I listened to them the more I was able to feel the emotions and appreciate the pieces. It was magical.
this really gives of a huge nostalgia vibe for me. Imagine you're a Chasm miner and going back here after all the things that had happened. The place that once used to be full of people is now deserted and abandoned
The instruments and styles of some songs come from northern China and Mongolia. The reason why there are so many soldiers here is also because soldiers defending in the north were an important part of poetry culture in northern China in ancient times.
Wandering Clouds [18:15] It is a song that really manages to make your imagination move to the world of Teyvat... Without a doubt, it is the best song of the entire Chasm album...
Wordless Cliff's is exactly what it sounds like. The Chasm has so much history, and it's only the rocks remaining that have fully bear witnessed to what happened there, and carry the tales of red lapis, adepti, millelith, miners and all those who fought for Liyue's safety. They've earnt their peace, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
I love how Vermillion Valley used to cover up the Ruins beneath. They use beautiful soundtrack on the surface and chilling soundtrack on underground mines.
I have so many memories with chasm. The ost always soothes me, I often just stop on the map while exploring, seeing all the beautiful view and admiring the music 🥺
This is gonna help me sleep tonight. The fact that I was just listening to some Inazuma Music and got a notification about this, so I'm like "Yesh, more tranquil music for me to enjoy and relax to" This is a masterpiece ✨
I keep coming back to listen again. The first disc especially makes me feel so nostalgic and like I'm coming home. In my mind, I'm in the grasslands of China.
"Wandering Clouds" among other similar tracks really leaves me this somber feeling. "The Millenial Mountains" was the first World Quest I took where it spoke of the Millelith memorials and it was this particular track that was playing in the background. This track to me speaks of the camaraderie between the miners and the Millelith themselves that have passed on during the Cataclysm. And to see the current state of The Chasm, this track pretty much imposes the idea of the whole area being always on the aftermath of one calamity after another. This OST is essentially reflective of the cruel history of the area.
The Chasm (Surface) OST is absolutely one of the best soundtrack collections, to the point that I prioritized listening to the OST while gazing down at the whole site ^^
Reminds me of the times when the chasm remained peaceful, with rex lapis and the five adepts together, Xiao ! Best backsound music for vibin there ofc ✨
The lone cellos and overall epic yet solemn feeling of these songs supplanted themselves as one of my favorite OSTs to ever come out of this game. I’ve been looking for a good way to combine the cello overworld pieces together, and looks like I didn’t need to look far.
Great music for a great and beautiful game, keep up the great work. Don’t listen to what the toxic people say, ignore them you are doing a wonderful job with your games.
Number 13 Wandering Clouds Is absoluetly gorgeous. It has such emotion and sadness. I'm guessing the Instrument is a Gehu, since it sounds similar to a Cello in tone, but could also be a Morin Khuur from Mongolia :))
yes, it uses the Morin Khuur/Matouqin馬頭琴, which is used in Mongolian music as well as Northern Chinese music, due to the large Mongolian population there
@@aden5297 This is why I love Genshins OST. It's the only game I know that mix traditional eastern instruments with western ones at this level. Yu-Peng Chen and HoYo-Mix are not afraid to show their beautiful culture and music with this game :)).
The cello is such a bold choice for this area. Captures the depth and serene atmosphere of the Chasm. It’s like you can not only see the grandeur but you also feel the danger of falling over a cliff.
I am starting to think that the reason the Chasm has so many rocks to sit on is specifically for listening to the gorgeous soundtrack and enjoying the scenery. I could literally stay like that for an hour and be happy.

Reminds me of the times when the chasm remained peaceful, with rex lapis and the five adepts together, Xiao ! Best backsound music for vibin there ofc ✨
I'm addicted to HoYo-MiX music products.
This
Number 13 Wandering Clouds Is absoluetly gorgeous.
The OST and everything the peak genshin experience
Great music as always
Wordless Cliffs.... Finally, an official name for the best OST from The Chasm
bro, the first song gives me nostalgia for no reason😭
This is so nostalgic already, especially the last one..
if you ever lose 50/50, there's the absolute beauty of the music in the game that can help you chill out. I love it.
The cello is such a bold choice for this area. Captures the depth and serene atmosphere of the Chasm. It’s like you can not only see the grandeur but you also feel the danger of falling over a cliff.
With all the negativity surrounding the game (at least in social media), at least everyone agrees that Genshin music is a masterpiece
真的很喜歡璃月,很喜歡璃月的ost,真的太太太太好聽了,很有韻味,故事感滿滿~感謝米哈游
I am starting to think that the reason the Chasm has so many rocks to sit on is specifically for listening to the gorgeous soundtrack and enjoying the scenery. I could literally stay like that for an hour and be happy.
Mihoyo knows how to wrap this album (end to end) with the best music (Wordless Cliff and Wandering Cloud)👍
yes ♥👍🏻🎵
