I have 2 corgis, so I speak from experience, they are a lot of work. Everyone thinks corgis are just cute little loaves…that part is true but not everyone is prepared for the stubbornness, and herding instinct which can get out of control if you let it. They are very smart and can pick up commands quickly. They need a “job” to do because they have endless amount of energy, especially as puppies, and if they’re not kept busy they will find bad things to get into. A tired corgi is a well behaved corgi. A little walk around the block is not enough for them. People are surprised at how far they can walk and how fast they can run. Mine easily go on 3-4 mile hikes and tire ME out.
I'm living for this content 😩, she's the sweetest human, she motivates me to workout and have a positive outlook towards everything. She has an optimistic personality ✨.
The smaller crate is great for potty training. When you’re gone and she is in the crate, she is less likely to pee/poo in it! If she has too much space in the crate, she will pee/poo in it most likely. Dogs don’t want to potty where they sleep so the smaller crate is good for now!! Millie is the cutest and I’m so excited for you 😍
YOU GOT A PUPPY!!! Omg yes! She’s so damn cute!!! I’m probably just as excited for Millie as you are! 😂 you’ll have hard days training her but it’s all so worth it. As far as advise, I think you have everything covered! Definitely socialize her! Congratulations, dog mom!! ☺️❤️
Tip for a puppy ….. she will be trained in a week if you take her out every twenty minutes when you awake . Atleast twice and hour . then crate her at night and go right before crate .
Yayy puppy!!!! It sounds like you’re really on top of things in terms of raising her. In my experience, proper socializing is SOOO important and often overlooked. Puppy school sounds like a great option! And train her how to trust and properly interact with your friends and family. She’s so cute!! I love 🥰
Loving Millie 💕 it seems like she has such a sweet personality! I think the most important thing about training a puppy is being patient and introducing new tricks and experiences slowly. You can find lists online of things to slowly introduce her to, like other dogs, kids, vacuums, people in wheelchairs etc and I think that's a really fun way to make sure she isn't afraid of new things. Good luck 👍
She’s so sweet 🥺 be careful with over socializing her! Make sure you’re the most interesting thing in her life! Enjoy every second of the puppy stage, because they grow up so so fast 🥰
I love giving puppy advice! Definitely make sure she has all of her shots before letting her be around other dogs. I also love that she has a tail! She is adorable. You definitely have a lot of work ahead. My number one advice owners is to learn all about body language. That is so important for all animals and will help in any situation as she grows you will learn what she is comfortable with and what she isn’t. I have a dog I tried to socialize so much but he is nervous around new people and now weird with dogs and he is 5 so I’m figuring that out with him. So there is no stopping the training. It’s life long. There are so many videos and good stuff to research. Herding breeds are fun! And a lot of work! Mine is an Australian Shepherd. Good luck with the puppy phase. I can’t wait to see more of her!
OMGOSH, my grandmother just lost her beautiful corgi Nikki, and I LOVED That dog so much even dying she ignored my protest of her to lay down and demanded to sit in my lap. And then this popped up in my homefeed, and Millie is adorable and made me feel much better thank you soooooo much. Corgis can be super excited dog, but they make great furry friends!
I’m so so SO happy for you Chelsea!! 😍💖 Millie is just as sweet as can be!! I saw some people gave you a little grief about her crate but listennnn you’re an OG dog mom, you know what you’re doing haha can’t wait to see more adventures with Millie in the future 🤗💓
Millie and you look so cute, I love the way she is looking at that camera ,you will be the best mommy for Millie, excited to see more vlogs with Millie ,love you Chelsea
Millie is so precious! My doggie is going to be 10 years old but she doesn’t act like it lol she still acts like she’s three! I’m so happy for you! And I’m high key excited for all this puppy content! Omg!
She's sooo cute 😍 from my experience it's important to watch your dog and learn its needs, for example I learned that my dog doesn't actually need to greet every dog when we are walking ofc it's important to socialize but he sometimes needs to focus on me more, and I think it's also really important to teach your dog that you're always the best choice so if they're off leash they always know to come back to you and not for example go play with dogs
Congrats!!! What a lovely Millie is🥰 Also, I really appreciate that you didnt cut her tail. That is unnesasary pain for puppies. And dogs' tails are really important to express their moods and feelings🐶
Millie is ADORABLE. I got a puppy (an extremely stubborn one with behavioural issues) in 2020 and my advice is to only take advice from one person/expert. There is so much information out there about training, and there are so many right ways to train a dog. Find a good trainer/expert that feels right to YOU and only listen to them. Outside input can be helpful, but it’s mostly overwhelming.
I can’t wait to have a corgi! I’ve wanted one for about a decade now! When my fiancé and I get married and buy our house, my cousin said she’ll pay for our corgi for us as a wedding/house warming gift and I’m so excited!
Tip: Try to go over to peoples house that have a dog. Try to get her used to being near other dogs and people to help socialize her so she won’t grow up to be shy around others.
Congrats on your new baby! I’m a fur mama of 2! As far as advise it’s best to keep a schedule so they are less likely to have accidents at home. I Pinterest a lot of articles when my little ones were puppies!
Oh my goodness I’m so excited for you!!! Millie is SO cute!! I love your content and I’m so excited to see all your vlogs with Millie ❤️ Love your videos
Use a long leash when walking to give her space to explore! And reward a lot for looking at you and keeping close to you. Enroll her in a training class that focuses on only positive reinforcement
awhhhhhh i’m so happy you got a corgi!!! they’d break your heart with stubbornness and the constant battle for asserting dominance but they are so clever & easy to train and are like the perfect dog within a year or two 😂 my fams is like 4 now and he’s turned into such a lazy loaf that sleeps for like 12 hours a day 😂 congratsssss dog momma xx
Millie is adorable! My only advice is invest in grooming products and a first aid kid. Also, get her training treats ( specifically smaller treats for training).
Hi Chelsea, greetings from New Jersey. The pad helps inside when she needs to use it, but i highly recommend to buy the tray to place the pad inside so you dont have marks on your floor. Also set a time for her to eat and use the bathroom and she will quickly learn.
Major tip I could give you is start brushing her teeth now! She'll get used to the toothbrush and toothpaste (for dogs). We started brushing our guys teeth when he was a bit older and he would fight the toothbrush and not let us look in his mouth. He's gotten so much better with training now, but start young! Brush her teeth, look in her mouth, etc. Get her comfortable with it
@@SamanthaTwist isn’t it so cute?? Most breeders dock the tail bc it’s “breed standard” and was what they did when they were still herding dogs, but I personally love fluffy tails and think it’s one of the main ways a dog can express themselves ☺️
Hi from Ontario, Canada! I got my girl Mya back in 2020, and the first year is the best feeling, definitely do not take it or anything for granted even the hard days! Also, Millie is VERY cute!! Hope it is going well with her this week ☺
Love your puppy!!!❤❤❤ I have 3 dogs so I know a little and am always learning. Be patient, reward lots!!! Also keep training sessions short so she doesn't check out and always, always end on a positive note!!! Keep it fun for you and her, training is a great bonding experience! Good luck ❤
Also definitely work on heel while she’s still super small! Because if not when she gets bigger it’ll be harder. My puppy loves to pull really hard when she goes on walks!
Congratulations! Millie is absolutely beautiful! Millie is going to be a happy and loved dog. She has a good home and the best human as her dog mommy.😘 I have a 16 pound female Chihuahua mix that is about 13 years old with no teeth and she is my baby.🤗
Oh my goodness! Congratulations on the new puppy, she’s adorable! I have a corgi as well his name is Beau and he just turned one! They are such smart and sweet dogs!
You are already doing great! I have two frenchies , and I know both frenchies and corgis are more prone to spine issues due to the body shape, so just be careful when they jump because they don’t know their limits 😂 and I saw you are using regular leash so that’s good, definitely don’t use those retractable leashes..good luck!
My best advice is to take care of her teeth! This isn't talked about enough, but gum disease is very common in dogs and can lead to more serious issues, even heart or kidney problems. Dogs need daily brushing just like humans. Also talk to your vet about yearly professional teeth cleaning for your dog.
I'm not sure the name of the product but there's some kind of droplet that you can put under pee pads to attract her to the pee pads. I forget the name but pet stores usually have it.
I would check out Allison Bickerstaff's channel. She got a puppy at the beginning of this year & she's always making her own dog treats & stuff. 🙂 Also, Millie is adorable! Those ears are life! 🐶🐕
I literally love the idea of a having a dog! The only problem is I am scared of dogs (a gene from my mom) but I am in the progress of getting over it. I will give a update about it! 😄

And try to remember to take her collar off in her crate. If it gets snagged, it could end up being really bad 😔

I am so jealous! I have wanted a corgi for a few years now but the wait lists here in Canada are typically so long. How did you luck into her?!
Ah, found the answer in the vlog lol. You are so lucky?
I got a corgi puppy (named her Margot) last week so when I tell you I was pumped to see this video ✨🌞
Ahhh your new video is here i was waiting for this❤️ and you got such a cute puppy ❤️ she is so so cute🥺🥺
