- Emergency Alert System (EAS) scenario about SCP-049 (the plague doctor) escaping the SCP Foundation's top-secret facility. Please listen carefully and follow all the commands. The subject is wearing long black robes and a mask such as those worn by medieval plague doctors. The mask covers the entire face and features a long, protruding beak. He has never been known to take off the mask.

I find this part very sad... Imagine seeing your best friend or your brother or parents coming towards you, knowing you have to kill or escape someone you used to and likely still love that wants to rip you apart...

also while the doctor is smart and all on the website he`s normally mocked as one of the more "easy to put down" SCP`s that can just get shot once in the sternum and be squirming along the floor in pain
The real danger seems to be if you leave him alone for too long. Lose track of him for a day and you just give him time to get an entourage...
I'm less worried about getting grabbed by a beaky boy and more concerned about my zombified neighbor trying to rip my jaw off.
I really feel like the foundation is really overestimating how dangerous 049 is, I mean he’s like just one guy you don’t need to immediately pack and flee you have a lot of time unless he’s actively in your house. Plus like when he makes a zombie, it’s a whole surgery that takes like 10-20 minutes so
And you're underestimating how strong he is. Don't forget, a few bullets wont take him down. That should remind you of what he can do. And with enough of his subjects, he can overcome a lot. These subjects are also way, way stronger.
If you leave him alone too long you've got one hyper-intelligent 6 foot tall guy who targets people at (as far as anyone knows) random as well as a gaggle of his Frankenstein's monster zombie patients. In the article it's noted that when he was first discovered, his zombies bum-rushed the MTF.
The danger comes from leaving him unattended with people or animals.

Several MTF teams would probably be dispatched with helicopters, megaphones, and thermal goggles, to identify and terminate every 049-2 on sight, same with army or the police, moving with a helicopter is a safe way to engage and 049-2 are not indestructible they are actually killable.

I'd love it if you were to release separate videos with just the background static and noise, the one in this video is fucking awesome.
These videos are great, but the only problem I have is the everlasting static and background noise. I know it gives it a more "creepy" feeling, but I really believe the Foundation has more budget and resources to produce a high quality warning message. It also just makes it harder to understand what the announcer is saying, which is not something you want in an EAS. They can still be creepy without the constant background noises.
The SCP foundation's long range FM transmitters would likely be high noise from not ever being used, likely being vacuum tube transmitters.

My understanding always was that SCP-049 isn't really aggressive enough to warrant this kind of response. He's actually relatively amicable and had been operating for centuries.

wierd question I know, but this popped into my head when I saw the screen.
What if someone tried to run over 049 with a car?
He would probably stop your car with his bare hands. At a slight touch with one of his fingers your organs fail at an instant. Every single one of them dies instantly. He is then going to reanimate you. He is very strong and intellectual. You'd need a lot of firepower to take him down. A. LOT. But they wouldn't try taking him down, but rather get him back to the SCP foundation. Also, he's, i guess, friends kind of with 096. He said he can't cure him, but he can help him. He can calm him down. Also there's a lot of stuff. I have kind of forgot because I have stopped reading for like around a year now, simply just forgot about it.
Even if he can't stop a car, I doubt he'd just stand there and allow it, he would probably bolt. At worst you've just gotten his attention and now he knows you're there and all he's gotta do is wait for you to get out or break a window.

They take people and give them class A amnestics, wipe their memory so they dont remember what happened to them, they're now class D's used for experimentations with the scp subjects, basically prisoners in a fancy underground institution that contains unimaginable dangers. They're told if they survive 30 days they are free to leave to their homes and family. Fact is, evem if you survive, you'll be later killed. You won't go home.
