I have been using my Barrista Pro since Christmas and found the coffee I like the best. I use Walmarts French roast in the purple bag it tastes the best. I like a large Cappuchino so I push the button twice for a double and once for a single. I also found out that it is easier to put the coffee holder if you don't overfill it. So far I'm still loving it!

Thanks a lot for the review, very detailed. I'm about to buy the machine, it's in special at $85. One trick I learned with expreso machines to avoid the little mess with coffee from the edges of the filter; when you fill the filter with coffee and you tampered with the tampering tool, just give it couple of little soft wacks on the side of the coffee filter with the tampering tool and the coffee on the edge will go right back in the filter.. it should be little mountain 🏔️ of coffee, tamper, soft-wacks to the side with tampering tool, tamper again and presto.. 🙂👍🏾 ps.if you want to fit the 5 inch cup, just remove the metal stand and it will fit fine..
I just got one of these at Walmart. My Mr Coffee Barista quit working. I’ve had a expresso maker with that brew basket for over 10 years and I have both good days and messy days filling it up still. I hope it last a long time. Mine was around $139 in March 2023 in Michigan.
Very good review!! just one small detail. You can leave the milk in the milk deposit when running the cleaning mode. The machine will pump water from the water tank to clean it and when done you can take the milk deposit to the fridge for next use.
Great review. Not sure if it’s been mentioned but if you remove the drip tray completely or just the grate you can fit a larger cup.

Try taking out the metal drip tray, your lager cup may fit that deeper space. It works for me.

Just bought one of these secondhand and it came with a bag of Starbucks medium grind and I knew exactly why they didn’t enjoy it as much. They needed finer coffee! Though it actually makes an alright tasting cup with the medium grind
I’ve also realized with the tamper you almost have to do a slight circular tamp, angle it just a bit the whole way around then give it the solid ramp straight down

My husband just got this for me for my birthday! Loving it so far. Your review is helpful. So does a double shot espresso use the same amount of coffee in the portafilter, but simply runs more water through it? Or do you scoop twice the amount of coffee into the porta filter for a double shot?
Happy Birthday!! when you do a double shot, then you should use the double shot filter that goes in the porta filter, it is bigger and holds more coffee, and yeah it will run more hot water through it.

I'd give this affordable machine a 10 if my frother worked like yours/like it's supposed to. It froths perfectly when doing it separately from the shot, but if I press the cappuccino or latte buttons, only water dribbles out. I know it's not a blockage issue since it works fine with just the froth button, but if anybody has any idea what's keeping the milk from flowing with the drink buttons, I'd appreciate it. ✌🏿
make sure the milk frothing jug is pushed in all the way, the the supply tube that sticks in the milk is fully seated.
@@JustADad yeah, I had to repeat myself a few times for customer service as well since, like I said, there's no issue with the froth function when used on its own. Finally got them to understand and open a case. Thanks.

You have to add the sugar first on the cup and it comes sweet enough to drink it
Hey so you can’t make any coffee into espresso. You can make it an espresso grind. But there is a difference between regular coffee beans and espresso beans they are roasted different. Also that little black flip tab on the black handle will flip up and hold the portafilter in place so it doesn’t fall out when you are filling it or getting used grounds out. This is a great review though! Also highly recommend a burr grinder! Coffee will taste 10 times better.
Espresso is how it’s brewed. Starbucks roasts it different but Starbucks coffee isn’t great quality and they over roast their coffee. Any blend or single origin can be espresso if ground fine enough

Thank you for your videos, I had to return mine, not sure if you know what could the problem be but sometimes it will overflow the milk. I was putting a 12.5 oz cup. Sometimes the milk will stop at the perfect lever but it was a 50/50 other times it will over flow I had to pause. Waiting on the exchange

Thanks for the review! I got mine a few months ago because of it and love it. Have you had to replace the small silicone ring that goes where the frother container inserts? Mine is ripping and idk where I can find a replacement or how to look it up.
I bought this, and the espresso was amazing, BUT the frother sucked, and the machine started leaking from the bottom, which seems to be an issue with a lot of them.

One question. Do you have to put in new espresso grounds for each drink you make? For example, can I use 1 shot of espresso to make a latte and a cappuccino? Or is it one shot for the latte, throw out and replace, one shot for the capp? I won't be making espresso shots, I'll be making drinks that have milk. Great Question, I put in new grounds for each time I make a shot. the espresso coffee is realy strong when you first brew and if you brew water though it again it will be really weak, you can try it, but I don't think you will like the taste of it.

What happens if you do use medium grind? Does it hurt the machine or just affect the taste?
It will not affect the machine, but It might not taste as good. You can try it and see how it taste. if it taste good then it would be ok to do.
Use a coffee grinder, not so fine coffee grinds = bitter taste
